Verizon’s COO Bets The Merger Will Happen

This saga just won’t end, and frankly I’m kind of sick of it.  Anyways, Verizon’s COO Lowell McAdam came out saying that he believes the merger will go through, mostly because “AT&T needs the spectrum and is motivated enough to [acquire T-Mobile], and will agree with what the government will want.”  So essentially, he thinks that it will go through because AT&T just wants it and had money.  I’m still betting … [read full article]

T-Mobile Comments on New FCC Filings, Calls Opponents Ostriches

AT&T and T-Mobile are at it again, defending their stance on the would be merger, pending an official decision.  AT&T’s Wayne Watts continues to suggest that the merger is on track to be approved by Mach 2012, no matter the outcry from competitors and individuals.  Tom Sugrue, T-Mobile’s Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, was even reported as saying: “The opponents of the AT&T/T-Mobile merger have had their final say as part … [read full article]

Merger Documents Blocked From Access

There are new developments in the ongoing drama that is this AT&T/T-Mobile merger.  As of today, the FCC has limited the access of certain confidential information contained in the proposed merger documents.  It was decided that some of the information, if it were to be accessed by competing companies, would compromise AT&T’s, T-Mobile’s, or some combination of the two’s competitive advantage.  The FCC added this along with their ruling: “We adopt [these] procedures … [read full article]

Deutsche Telekom Considering T-Mobile USA Sale To Sprint?

According to people with knowledge of the matter, Sprint Nextel Corp. and Deutsche Telekom are holding meetings to discuss a possible acquisition. Citing multiple anonymous sources, Bloomberg states that discussions have been on … [read full article]

Sprint CEO Dan Hesse Thinks A Merger With T-Mobile Makes Sense, In Other News, The Sky Is Blue

Well I suppose this is hardly going to come as any surprise that Sprint CEO Dan Hesse has said that a merger with T-Mobile makes sense. Shock and surprise right? I think with the recent “article” (if one can call it that) of T-Mobile’s demise next years we can all admit that the carrier needs to do something. Competing against Verizon and AT&T for any carrier especially T-Mobile and Sprint is becoming increasingly … [read full article]

T-Mobile Closing Its Doors In 2011? Not So Fast!

Update: Thanks to a sharp reader I did indeed incorrectly source the Wall Street 24/7 article which states companies that WILL disappear in 2011 when the Yahoo News article erroneously states companies that MAY disappear, guess I should pay more attention too. Doesn’t change the fact that it doesn’t say the company itself will disappear, just the brand so T-Mobile may live on according to them only under a different name and perhaps different … [read full article]

T-Mobile Ain’t Nobody’s Fool

The bottom is line T-Mobile knows what is said, what is going around and they are hip, hop and down with it.  T-Mobile has brought forth the message that front-line employees are to have the standard “no comment” approach to all media inquiries regarding this offer.  I am betting a reporter from the Wall Street Journal is going to a random T-Mobile retail store and hoping the employees know the exact date of IPO. Riiiiiiiight! Seriously, … [read full article]
