Just announcing a little change to the way our blog posts operate around here: You can now reply to individual comments within a post. We’ve noticed a decent  amount of people typing out replies to others using an “@username” format at the top of their comments – no longer will that be necessary. Using the new system, each comment will have a “Reply” link below it and replying to that comment will produce that reply right underneath it in a handy little box. Each comment can be replied to up to three levels deep, with each box being an alternating color so as to flow a little easier on the eyes.

On Saturday, May 9th, the TmoNews Forums turned one year old. Yeah, that means one year of discussion on current phones, upcoming phones, rumored phones, release dates, troubleshooting, services like 3G, data plans, and the future of T-Mobile, as well as crazy off topic chat with people that are into the “Big Magenta” just as much as we are here on the blog. Alright so we’ve been getting requests for some kind of refreshing change to the blog and we’ve been trying to come up with something cool that would make the blog a lot easier on the eyes (aside from pictures of scantily clad models). 2009 rolls around and we thought to ourselves, “New year? Old blog? Doesn’t add up” so we moved quickly to get something in motion. Enter TmoNews Blog v2.0, the next “evolution” of our wonderful little blog about all things T-Mobile.  It’s pretty straightforward, but I feel I should let you know what’s going on now and what’s planned overall. From all of us to all of you, Happy Thanksgiving!! This year, I am eternally thankful that we have been able to take this website from a casual hobby to a big time gadget blog and have seen our traffic skyrocket to levels we could not have imagined at the very beginning. Our success is not because of the information we present, but because of the loyalty and value of our readers. Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping us make this site a success!

This year I am especially thankful to be able to enjoy Thanksgiving in an a part of the country where long sleeves and winter jackets aren’t the norm. While its currently a “chilly” 64 out, that’s still almost double the temperature of where I was sitting typing these posts last week. So on that level, I’m thankful for being just a little closer to the equator this time around. Of course we are all thankful for great friends, loving families and Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.

Yet again I feel compelled to write that most importantly I am thankful to you, the readers who have helped make this site a terrific place to visit and an overwhelming success. When the three of us decided to formulate this site, we did so with only a mild idea of exactly what we wanted to accompolish other than to bring the news, rumors and hints, tricks, tips and whatever else we could to the T-mobile masses. I know things don’t always go smoothly or there is news we miss or imperfect presentations of information but no matter what happens, we always do it for you, the readers. For your viewership and your loyalty, we are MOST thankful!

So on behalf of myself, Shawn and Mystic, thank you!

Update: Forums are back online.

We sincerely apologize for the issues this site has been experiencing recently. The server we are hosted on seems to have been having some problems and even though it apparently was supposed to have been back online 10 minutes ago, it obviously still has some major stability issues.

It really troubles us here to keep having us go through periods of unavailability, and we’re going to do whatever we can to get this resolved. Fortunately, our files are still intact (which wasn’t the case with our old host, GoDaddy… grrrr) so it should not mean that we’ll be offline for several hours like it was when we switched hosts just to get the site back up.

On a related note, the explosion in site traffic has caused us to yet again rethink our needs for server capability. While it may be a bad thing on its own, it’s because of how popular you the readers have made us so its your fault!!! Expect a better, faster TmoNews soon…
