Editors note: I apologize beforehand for the video quality, my digital camera went and broke down on me right before shooting. The quality is ok but it’s certainly not our best effort. Next time will be better, I promise!
Let me just put this right out there. The HTC HD2 is a FANTASTIC phone and I have loved every minute of using it. I have never been a Windows Mobile Phone fan and have made little effort to hide that, much to the chagrin of my colleague Mystictrust. That being said, whether the phone is better than this phone or that phone is a matter of absolute opinion. Whether it is better than Android or better than Blackberry is going to be up to you, the individual user. The decision will depend on what your requirements for phones are, what preferences you have, etc. When you ask something of the HD2, the snapdragon processor screams to life and makes browsing the phone effortless. Of course, there are the usual hang-ups and slowdowns but I’ve been pushing the phone hard so I thought nothing of these infrequent hiccups.

Looks like Engadget isn’t the only one that was able to get their paws on what seems to be one of the hottest, and highly anticipated devices right now. As the January 5th rumored release date comes closer and closer, one lucky guy over at NexusOneBlog managed to get his hands on the HTC Nexus One (aka Google Phone). Courtesy of the folks over at NexusOneBlog, you can finally read a full review with some nice high-res pics to keep you interested. We can clearly tell what the reviewer is saying all throughout the review and that is, “This is the best phone I have ever used, I have one and you don’t”. Read the full review here. Feel free to express your thoughts in the comments!
While today’s attention will almost undoubtedly be focused on the Nexus One, for the last two and a half weeks or so I have been playing with the Blackberry 9700 Bold. I’ve kept the phone far longer than I was supposed to as I simply didn’t want to give it back. I love it even with all the faults of the Blackberry OS, and there are not many. The 9700 is a magnificent device for both the power user and the individual who simply relies on email.
Frankly stated, the T-Mobile Tap is among the worst phones I have ever had the displeasure of using. There really is little positive to say about this device and, while I can’t say I’m truthfully surprised, I was hoping to come up with at least one thing that I actually liked about this phone. All I can think of is the form factor. What appears at first glance to be a copycat of the Samsung Highlight actually comes off being exactly that.
The list of phones these days that actually gets me into a frenzy remains remarkably short considering my nerd-like excitement over new devices. That being said, the Samsung Behold 2 was on the short list of phones I was really looking forward to getting for a hands-on evaluation and, thanks to the fine folks at Samsung, TmoNews has its very first review device.
