Fender MyTouch, Now With Clapton

We have been hearing a lot about the soon to be released Limited Edition MyTouch 3G with Fender lately, and now there is even more. The wood grain finish, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a 16GB microSD card with preloaded content have been known for some time, but we now know what will be on the card.  It all starts with a new commercial featuring Eric Clapton and the Fender MyTouch.  From there you will get … [read full article]

First Week Handset Sales Comparison

It’s been roughly a week since Google and HTC revealed the Nexus One via press conference at their headquarters. Expectations were of course high for the Google handset, as is usually true for anything that is attached to the Google name. However, according to Mobile App Analytics over at Flurry, who are estimating (based on usage of the apps that it instruments) around 20,000 Nexus One handsets were sold in the first week of launch.  Looking … [read full article]

MyTouch 3G Fender Edition In The Wild

We keep hearing about this Limited Edition MyTouch 3G, and there are now in the wild shots of the wood covered wonder.  The HTC made, Fender collaborated, Android phone isn’t much of an upgrade to the MyTouch by only adding a 3.5mm headphone jack, wood grain finish and some preloaded content on a 16GB microSD card.  It looks like this phone will be polished and ready for it’s first gig on January 20th (so you … [read full article]

T-Mobile To Carry 8 HTC Handsets This Year

Update: As we think more about this, we have to wonder how valid the count of 8 handsets are and if thats really already including the other 3. We’re not counting the TouchPro2 and the Dash3G. I think we’d be better off just saying that HTC will likely bring more handsets to T-Mobile through 2010. Considering they have only brought Android and Windows Mobile to T-Mobile up to this point, its safe to consider that that pattern … [read full article]

MyTouch3G Version 1.2 In The Works?

So this is an interesting little tidbit sent my way in the last 24 hours. Apparently February 10th gives way to the MyTouch3G 1.2. My original thought was that the Fender edition might be this MyTouch3G 1.2. However, my source states that with some suspicion that it might be the original MyTouch3G coming with a 3.5 mm headset jack. This stems from material that hints toward two sets of accessory skus, modified to fit “both” … [read full article]

Finally, A Commercial That Works

T-Mobile has had its share of marketing successes and failures as of late. Catherine Zeta Jones = Win. These ads = Not so much. After a double dosing of commercials featuring celebrities of questionable star power, T-Mobile has gone back to the basics and brought out Dwayne Wade and Charles Barkley to show off the MyTouch3G. Two basketball players of significant stature, this full minute commercial certainly works with a good dose of humor and … [read full article]

MyTouch3G Fender Edition Delayed?

For those of you who were looking to combine serious customization and the purchase of a MyTouch3G, the Fender edition looked awesome. Unfortunately, word has hit my inbox regarding a possible delay in expected launch, scheduled for later this year. In fact, it looks as if this Wood Grained beauty won’t drop at all during the holiday season, and instead will be launching after the first of the year. Thankfully, you have still have White, Black and … [read full article]

MyTouch Price Drop FTW!

When the MyTouch3G launched back in early August, one of the earliest complaints was the high price. Offered at $199, many bloggers, including myself, couldn’t understand why T-mobile would risk such a price when the iPhone 3G was coming in a full 100 dollars lower. Well, a compromise must have been made in the hallways of Bellevue (that or sales have slipped), as tomorrow brings a $50 price drop. Good for new lines and upgrades, the price … [read full article]

Three’s Company For The MyTouch3G

Still not convinced that the MyTouch3G is for you? Well T-mobile is hoping to change that by bringing in some heavy hitters on the advertising side of things with the likes of Phil Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg (seriously?) and Jessie James. The Los Angeles Lakers Coach, Actress and Destruction Specialist are all highlighting the level of personalization the MyTouch3G brings to the table. Still not convinced? It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s T-Mobile?

It’s no secret that T-Mobile has been stepping up their advertising campaign lately.  It has been a natural progression of course; starting with commercials, then moving to an extremely personalized press event and now their latest propaganda, people jumping out of perfectly good planes and plummeting to the Earth (with some fancy flips, synchronization and safe landings thrown in there somewhere).  It appears that T-Mobile is going all out … [read full article]
