Looks like T-Mobile is preparing for theMyTouch 1.2launch, which means it is time to get rid of the original MyTouch stock. Starting Wednesday February 10th, T-Mobile will be offering the originalMyTouch 3G“1.0″ for $99.99, a $50 savings! New customers and eligible existing customers alike will be able to snag a MyTouch 3G for $99.99 with a 2 year agreement. If you have been thinking about getting into the Android game, and do not care for a 3.5mm jack, Swype, and increased memory, the MyTouch 3G for a $100 bucks is a swell deal!
Remember back in early January, when we were the first to inform you about the myTouch 1.2 and its release date which our sources claimed to be February 10th? Now, thanks to one of our trusty tipsters, T-Mobile has confirmed the existence of the myTouch 1.2 via their internal systems. Additionally, T-Mobile also states the reason as to why the myTouch 3G (Black) and myTouch Fender LE were removed from the Care Upgrade Program. The inventory levels on the myTouch 3G (Black) were limited in order to prepare for the myTouch 3G “refresh”. And it looks like the Fender Editiondid sell out, because of the “high demand” and partly because of the limited quantity. The new myTouch 3G with 3.5mm headphone jack is scheduled to release February 10th (just like we told you), and it will replace the original myTouch 3G (Black and white models). T-Mobile states that there will be a “limited supply,” so it looks like T-Mobile isn’t expecting a whole lot of sales to come from the new myTouch 1.2, and quite frankly I don’t see this device selling out. So who is going to get one of these bad boys? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
UPDATE: According to our sources, the myTouch 1.2 will include 256MB Of RAM (same as the Fender LE), and Swype.
Let me first say that I actually like the name MyTouch 3G+ significantly more than I like MyTouch 3G 1.2. I do not know if MyTouch 1.2 is the actual name T-Mobile will be giving to the MyTouch 3G upgrade but let me just go on record saying version “1.2” is awful. If Palm could throw in the Palm Pre Plus for Verizon, T-Mobile can drop the MyTouch 3G+ for themselves. Imagine telling someone you just bought the MyTouch 1.2, who would understand that? Now imagine telling someone you just bought the MyTouch 3G Plus, that just sounds a whole lot cooler. Regardless, Best Buy thanks to our tipster is showing off this baby for a 2/28 launch, admittedly though Best Buy has been known to launch T-Mobile devices a week or two after they launch through official channels.
So what do you think? MyTouch 3G+ or MyTouch3G 1.2? Please say Plus, please!
One of our sources hit us up today with the image above. Apparently, the MyTouch Fender Limited Edition will no longer be available for existing customers that want to upgrade to the handset. Additionally, the original MyTouch 3G in the shade of black, will no longer be available for upgrade either. Our sources are claiming that the reason for the Fender LE removal is because the handset is out of stock in the warehouse. Did the MyTouch 3G Fender really sell out that quickly? I’m not a big fan of Eric Clapton, but the Fender Edition definitely looks sick! Also could the removal of these handsets have something to do with the upcoming MyTouch 1.2, slated for a February 10th release?
This is kind of a good news, bad news (well, mediocre) post. Good News: anyone with a MyTouch should be getting an over the air update. Bad News: this isn’t Android 2.1, or even 2.1. Instead, this update is to make sure that you get a nice little notification for missed calls. Not a huge update, but important nonetheless. If you are getting this update, or just have some thoughts on the matter, sound off in the comments!
One of our ninjas just hit us up with some bad news for those of you that purchased a Fender myTouch 3G. T-Mobile will not, I repeat, will not offer returns on the myTouch LE Fender. According to T-Mobile the myTouch 3G LE Fender is not eligible for returns even during the Buyer’s Remorse Period. Apparently all Limited Edition handsets cannot be returned. So that means, one you purchase it, you’re stuck with it, that is unless you throw it up for sale on eBay where you might have a slight chance of getting rid of it. Of course the myTouch Fender Edition will still include a 1 year warranty. Well that’s it for now. Leave your thoughts and opinions in the comments!
Music lovers today is the day you’ve all been waiting for! The myTouch 3G Limited Edition Fender is now available for $179.99 with a new 2 year contract. Along with the Fender inspired casing, the Fender myTouch includes a 16GB MicroSD memory card for all your tunes, and adds a nice 3.5mm headphone jack. Of course you probably already knew this bad boy was coming thanks to us. Not liking that wood finish you say? Well then, you can pick up a Motorola Cliq with a nice full QWERTY keyboard for the low price of $99.99 with a new 2 year contract. And if you really don’t want all the bells and whistles smartphones come with, you can pick up a Sony Ericsson Equinox in the shade of Ocean Blue starting today! Also be sure to check out these insane deals as well!

UPDATE: The myTouch 3G LE Fender also inlcudes 288MB of RAM, a significant increase from the original myTouch 3G that had 192MB of RAM.
We have been hearing a lot about the soon to be released Limited Edition MyTouch 3G with Fender lately, and now there is even more. The wood grain finish, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a 16GB microSD card with preloaded content have been known for some time, but we now know what will be on the card. It all starts with a new commercial featuring Eric Clapton and the Fender MyTouch. From there you will get preloaded Eric Clapton hits, some guitar related apps and a partnership with doubleTwist (for all your syncing needs). The Fender MyTouch will be ready for tunning on January 20th for $180 and come with Android 1.6, with an update to 2.1 coming in the Spring. Follow the link for the commercial and leave your thoughts in the comments!
It’s been roughly a week since Google and HTC revealed the Nexus One via press conference at their headquarters. Expectations were of course high for the Google handset, as is usually true for anything that is attached to the Google name. However, according to Mobile App Analytics over at Flurry, who are estimating (based on usage of the apps that it instruments) around 20,000 Nexus One handsets were sold in the first week of launch. Looking above you will see the T-Mobile myTouch 3G, which launched all the way back in August of 2009, sold a total of 60,000 units during its first week. Making a strong first week showing was the Verizon Wireless Motorola Droid which sold a whopping 250,000 units the first week it launched. While the infamous Apple iPhone 3GS sold an incredible 1,600,000 units during the first week it launched.
To be completely honest, I believe that due to Google imposing some tight requirements in order to get the handset subsidized, the Nexus One didn’t appeal to as many users. Even though the retail price of the handset is lower than the subsidized price in the long run, many consumers simply do not want to pay $529.99 up front. On top of that, significant confusion over the initial rate plan offering might have been a detractor to buyers. While that matter has been settled amongst the internet savvy, those looking to buy online may not be aware of how one can change plans after receiving the device. Consider for a moment the unhappy customers, those existing T-Mobile customers who discovered they would not receive any discount whatsoever on the Nexus One. Or those customers who are upgrade eligible and still find themselves in a position that requires more than the anticipated $179.99 pricing. Say what you want about the launch, it seems as though there was plenty of hiccups this time around, things that could have easily been prevented that would have allowed for higher first week sales. A lot is riding on how Google handles the 3G issues as well as various customer issues that has brought about significant talk about Google’s clear direction regarding customer service. For a company that is so entrenched in our lives, it’s certainly not easy to talk to them. Then again, that’s just my $0.02.

We keep hearing about this Limited Edition MyTouch 3G, and there are now in the wild shots of the wood covered wonder. The HTC made, Fender collaborated, Android phone isn’t much of an upgrade to the MyTouch by only adding a 3.5mm headphone jack, wood grain finish and some preloaded content on a 16GB microSD card. It looks like this phone will be polished and ready for it’s first gig on January 20th (so you can fall back on it if the Nexus One just isn’t doing it for you).
