Today is an exciting day in the world of T-Mobile.  Handsets are dropping, the network is popping and people are talking.  While the news of T-Mobile’s 4G marketing campaign and the launch of the myTouch4G are dominating headlines, we can’t forget that today marks the arrival of the T-Mobile Comet, Motorola Defy and LG Optimus T. The LG Optimus T, available for $29.99 after a $50 mail in rebate … [read full article]

T-Mobile Announces New Holiday Offerings

While these devices won’t be all that we will see from T-Mobile this holiday season, (myTouch4G anyone?) T-Mobile has announced that four Android devices will be priced under $100 this holiday season. There is little surprise here as all of these phones have been individually announced and the Motorola Charm has been available for some time. However, it’s nice to see T-Mobile remember that times are tough and that plenty of customers will be budget … [read full article]

Oh Hai Motorola, Wherefore Art My Updates?

I think the question I get asked the most lately is when is “insert Android device name here” getting updated to “insert latest Android software here”. When I say I get asked this the most, I mean it’s usually a more common question than when the next best phone is coming out for T-Mobile.  I really want to make this a scolding Motorola post because I think it’s incredibly disheartening and bad form that they … [read full article]

Bad Move For Motorola, T-Mobile And Android In General

Let me just start by saying that I’ve been a little out of the loop these past few days, so if I haven’t responded to your email, tweet or smoke signal, my apologies. So many of you have written in regarding the delayed announcement by Motorola regarding the Cliq update, and for very good reason. You are upset, no upset would not be the right word, livid would probably be a better explanation for … [read full article]

Cliq and Cliq XT Getting Android 2.1

I know what you are thinking, “the Cliq just received an update, how could another one be coming?”  Okay, well maybe it is more like, “it’s about time.”  Either way, Motorola updated their update listing to make sure the update status for each of their Android phones is up to date, or updated (one more update for good measure).  It looks like both the Cliq and Cliq XT will be receiving a Blur enhanced … [read full article]

Sunday Upcoming Phone News

Thanks to a few tipsters, we’ve been able to compile some information on upcoming T-Mobile devices.  First, we could be looking at not one, not two, but THREE LG devices launching before July.  No word on what exactly these phones contain within, but we’re hoping at least one of the three will be an Android smartphone especially with the LG GS505 passing the FCC in February.  LG would be an interesting addition to the T-Mobile … [read full article]

Motorola Handset Passes FCC, Motoroi Anyone?

While most of us have geared our attention toward the upcoming Windows Phone 7, the FCC has just passed yet another Motorola phone with AWS 3G bands. According to FCC documentation, the Motorola handset (FCC ID IHDP56Kz1) uses the same battery model as the Motorola CLIQ and Droid, so it’s most likely an Android handset. Additionally, the Motorola device will feature Quadband GSM/EDGE class 12, Triband HSDPA 7.2 Mbps 900/1700/2100, aGPS/Standalone GPS/aGPS, Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR and … [read full article]
