Samsung Posts Galaxy S 4 TV Spots Showcasing New Features

Samsung’s marketing machine is starting to kick the Galaxy S 4 TV campaign into gear with a set of four commercials ready to make their way across the globe. Android Central managed to get their hands on a copy of a 62 second commercial landing in the UK on April 26th. The ad itself is basically a demo of all the highlighted and noteworthy features, which is exactly what Samsung should be … [read full article]

Strangest Commercial Ever Offers T-Mobile Customers $100 Credit To Switch To Virgin Mobile

Hello again Virgin Mobile and thank you very much for the creepiest commercials ever. Seriously, Virgin’s second commercial in two years aimed directly at stealing T-Mobile customers is perhaps the oddest commercial I’ve seen in recent wireless industry history. A brain jumping on a chair is somehow appealing and makes me want to switch carriers, riiiiiight. I’m usually pretty critical of T-Mobile’s marketing but at least I don’t cringe when I … [read full article]

Thanks For The Marketing Memories Carly, We’ll Miss You

In the heat of the last 36 hours and a continuous stream of T-Mobile news, I almost didn’t take notice that Carly hasn’t appeared at all. Not only did Carly not appear on stage at the T-Mobile event as she had in years past, but is also absent from the company’s new marketing spots. We knew that T-Mobile was adopting a new marketing strategy and with that, T-Mobile has confirmed to Business … [read full article]

AT&T Responds To T-Mobile’s New Rate Plans With “Whatever”

T-Mobile’s CEO hit hard against the current state of wireless subsidized sales stating “this is the biggest crock of shit I’ve ever heard in my entire life.” AT&T shrugged off the attacks on their network and business plan with a simple “whatever.” Sprint offered up a slightly more embellished statement on today’s T-Mobile news: “Sprint gives its customers the best of both worlds with … [read full article]

Goodbye Stick Together, Hello “Simple Choice” And A Brand New T-Mobile

Say your goodbyes to “Stick Together” and welcome “Simple Choice.” T-Mobile’s calling Simple Choice a: Break from wireless industry norms, the Simple Choice plan eliminates restrictive annual service contracts and seeks to take the pain and confusion out of the wireless experience, by moving to one … [read full article]

HTC Ends “Quietly Brilliant” Tagline, Increases Marketing Budget To Get “Bold”

HTC’s making some sweeping changes to their marketing lately with a new announcement that they are dropping the “Quietly Brilliant” tagline in future product ads. “We have a lot of innovations but we haven’t been loud enough,” said Mr. Ho, a Singaporean who is HTC’s third marketing chief in less than two years. The new approach, he says, will be bolder. HTC’s new marketing effort is just part of their effort to reassure … [read full article]

New HTC One Marketing Spot Highlights BlinkFeed And A Potato That Looks Like Elvis

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little more excited about the arrival of the HTC One over the Galaxy S 4. I’m a hardware person and I like quality — in that respect I have to give the nod to HTC for its aluminum build. What I’m not going to give HTC the nod for is this marketing spot…WHAT is going on? Standing on its own, BlinkFeed is novel way to keep … [read full article]

HTC One Takes To The Streets Right Next To Samsung’s Times Square Takeover

HTC’s clearly not wasting any opportunity to undermine Samsung, especially during their Times Square takeover with some guerrilla marketing tactics. While I stood in line and watched hired persons sporting HTC One gear pass out bottled water and hot chocolate, HTC had the One floating around Times Square just a few feet from Samsung’s Galaxy S 4 setup. Is this trolling or guerrilla marketing genius? You decide. YouTube
