T-Mobile appoints Gary King as new CIO

It’s been a busy year for T-Mobile, and I could almost certainly forgive the company for taking a few weeks off announcements and changes for the holiday period. Shame, magenta doesn’t see it that way. Today, the company has announce the appointment of a new Chief Information Officer. Gary King has been in the technology services business for more than 30 years, most recently plying his trade at Chico’s FAS, Inc. But in … [read full article]

John Legere teases Uncarrier 4.0 on Twitter

Late last night – or at least, very early hours of the morning for me – CEO John Legere hinted at the arrival of the next phase of the Uncarrier movement. In his tweet, as you can see above, he announces that Tmo is set to release customers from another “pain point”. Exactly what that is, I don’t know, and I can only guess. So far, “pain points” already struck off … [read full article]

T-Mobile Hosting UnCarrier Phase 3 Part II Conference Tomorrow Morning Through Twitter

If you thought T-Mobile’s UnCarrier announcements were over, you’d be wrong! T-Mobile has sent out a note to members of the press and their customers indicating T-Mobile’s “First Tweet Conference for Un-carrier 3.0 Part II.” The announcement is evidently tablet related and with the iPad now available on T-Mobile, I imagine Apple’s tablet will play a big role. T-Mobile CEO John Legere and … [read full article]

T-Mobile CEO Suggests Carrier Will Carry iPads After Apple’s October 22nd Special Event

T-Mobile CEO John Legere has before hinted that more Apple products would come to the UnCarrier and a tweet this afternoon all but confirms that notion. In a brief tweet sent earlier this afternoon, Legere asked “What has two thumbs and is excited for October 22nd? #thisguy.” Legere’s tweet linked to a USA Today story on Apple’s October 22nd event which is expected to revolve around new iPad hardware and Mac software. … [read full article]

Analyst Expects T-Mobile Uncarrier “Phase 3″ To Target Family Plans

There’s no question plenty of hype and speculation exists around T-Mobile’s upcoming Uncarrier Phase III announcement, expected later this year. I for one have my thoughts and continue to hear whispers about its existence but I think any discussion is preliminary at this point. However, at least one analyst believes he has nailed down what T-Mobile’s Uncarrier Phase III will cover or attempt to change. Adam Ilkowitz, an analyst with Nomura believes … [read full article]

T-Mobile Hits Back After Advertising Council Advises Carrier To Modify Marketing Claims

If anyone actually thought T-Mobile CEO John Legere would take the AT&T/National Advertising Division rebuke lying down, well…we’re just going to call you silly. Taking the NDA findings lying down is exactly the opposite of what T-Mobile and their boisterous CEO will do. In fact, Legere dropped this image off to me on Twitter boasting how he is reacting in a way AT&T likely never expected. AT&T may not have expected … [read full article]

Cheaper iPhone Capable Of Luring More AT&T Customers To T-Mobile?

In a move that will likely cause T-Mobile CEO John Legere to jump for joy over another chance to hit AT&T below the belt, industry analysts speaking to Bloomberg suggest a cheaper ‘iPhone 5C’ could lure more customers away from the death star to T-Mobile. Roger Entner, an analyst at Recon Analytics suggest that the playing field is more level than it has been in recent years and that’s good news for T-Mobile: … [read full article]

Dear T-Mobile: You’ve Come A Long Way, Don’t Sue Over A Color

As a long time fan of T-Mobile, I’ve supported T-Mobile through thick and thin, acquisition rumors, AT&T buyout attempts and quarter after quarter of disappointing financials. Still, I love the little Magenta carrier that could but another lawsuit over the “Magenta” color just seems both unnecessary and ridiculous. T-Mobile is building up good will right now thanks … [read full article]
