T-Mobile To Announce Imminent iPhone Arrival Next Week?

Well, here’s a story we didn’t see coming, especially not on the heels of the last T-Mobile’s COO comments regarding the iPhone last week. According to Merrill Lynch analyst Scott Craig, “speculation is heightening” that Deutsche Telekom will announce the imminent arrival of the iPhone for its company’s US unit during next week’s analyst day meetings. The meetings, scheduled for December 6th and 7th would be an unusual place for such … [read full article]

T-Mobile COO: We Want The iPhone, But Not If We Have To Make Sacrifices

Speaking at the Morgan Stanley 12th Annual Technology, Media & Telecoms Conference in Barcelona, T-Mobile COO Jim Alling admitted the carrier is at a disadvantage without the iPhone. However, Alling adds that T-Mobile USA won’t make sacrifices to bring the iPhone to its portfolio. “Make no mistake about it: We would love to carry the iPhone. However, we want the economies to be right for us.” Alling added that his company … [read full article]

As part of T-Mobile’s network modernization effort, better known as their network refarm they are announcing three brand new markets this morning. Residents of Baltimore, Houston and Washington D.C. are the “latest metro areas where T-Mobile customers can benefit from enhanced voice and data coverage, and faster speeds on unlocked devices, including the iPhone.” In fact, T-Mobile is doing a little bragging stating that their own internal testing on the iPhone … [read full article]

Analyst Says “Next Year” For T-Mobile To Finally Offer The iPhone

As a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, my immediate reaction to Morgan Stanley analyst Nick Delfas claiming that T-Mobile will “announce official iPhone distribution in early 2013″ is to remember how many times we’ve said “wait till next year.” Cub fans the world over will recognize that as the unofficial model of a team which hasn’t won a world series in over 100 years. It’s also the same thing we say in the T-Mobile … [read full article]

T-Mobile Confirms Removal Of “Apple iPhone” Name In Marketing

T-Mobile has confirmed to the Wall Street Journal the removal of the Apple iPhone name from the company’s “bring your own device” marketing push. T-Mobile To Stop Using “Apple iPhone” Name For Bring Your Own Device Program?

Here’s a piece of news I think a number of us had predicted would come as T-Mobile sends out a memo indicating the “Apple iPhone” name can no longer be used in conjunction with marketing for the “Bring Your Own Device” program. Now, let’s be clear and say we don’t know the reasons for this, it could be a T-Mobile management decision, an Apple legal decision, a T-Mobile legal decision or something … [read full article]

T-Mobile Stores Begin Receiving NanoSIM Cards For iPhone 5 Activation

A bit of a surprise today as T-Mobile stores begin to receive NanoSIM cards used in conjunction with the iPhone 5. Our original expectations had T-Mobile NanoSIM cards arriving sometime in the middle of October, but we’re not one to complain about anything arriving ahead of schedule in the wireless world. There’s no word on how widespread the NanoSIM rollout is and it seems these shipments only started to arrive this morning. … [read full article]

Charting Carrier Activations By Operating System, How Did T-Mobile Do?

There’s little argument that Android is overwhelmingly the OS of choice on T-Mobile’s network, but what else is running on the network and how much of it? A new study from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) recently surveyed consumers who activated smartphones between June and August 2012. It’s hard to nail down exact percentages using the provided image, but you can get a pretty good idea that the overwhelming majority of T-Mobile customers … [read full article]
