Apple releases iOS 8, go download!

It seems an age since Apple unveiled its next iteration of the iPhone and iPad’s operating system. Unlike last year’s update, there’s no major design overhaul. Instead, Apple’s added some great features, and refined others. And today, iOS 8 has finally arrived. If you have an iPad or iPhone on T-Mobile, you’ll be able to upgrade to iOS 8 now (providing Apple’s servers can handle the load). Some of the biggest surprises in … [read full article]

“Test Drive” iPhones to be upgraded to iOS 8 from next week, switch to iPhone 6 in future?

Earlier this summer, T-Mobile launched its “Test Drive” as the major driving force behind Uncarrier 5.0. It essentially enabled customers with other carriers to try out an iPhone 5s on T-Mo’s network free for 7 days. Although it wasn’t among the main, highlighted features at the WWDC 2014 opening keynote, it was shown as a feature in the overview screenshot shown above. Exactly how Wi-Fi calling will be implemented is yet to be seen. It’s very unlikely that T-Mobile phones will come preloaded with an app, or even a downloadable … [read full article]

Apple has just kicked off its WWDC week at the Moscone West Center in San Francisco and has done so in style. But it wasn’t the end user iOS 8 announcement itself that got me excited. It was all developer SDK and API announcements and the potential that they hold for the future of apps and capabilities within iOS 8. As an update on user install base, iOS 7 is currently installed and … [read full article]
