Google Decides To Retire Google Reader In July, Internet Weeps With Sadness

Noooooooooo………this is some of the worst news I’ve seen and heard from Google in some time as they announce the shutdown of Google Reader. I use Reader multiple times an hour to keep up with news outside of Twitter and this is a huge disappointment for me. Apps like Flipboard greatly rely on Google Reader for RSS integration and this just a huge, huge disappointment. [read full article]

Wall Street Journal: Samsung’s Android Dominance Beginning To Worry Google Execs

Samsung’s global domination of the Android platform is, on the one hand a testimony to the strength of both Android and Samsung together. On the other hand, it’s leading Google execs to worry that Samsung’s lions share of the Android market (about 40%) could lead to Samsung renegotiating their contract with Google and leveraging their market share to do so. For its part, Google is taking meetings this week during Mobile World Congress in … [read full article]

Google Senior VP Promises “Insanely Great Cameras” With Future Nexus Devices

If anyone inside the Google food chain has his pulse on the latest developments in the Nexus world, it’s Google’s Senior Vice President of Engineering, Vic Gundotra. Gundotra is a name that needs no introduction with the die-hard Android crowd as he’s a presence at almost all major Google/Android announcements. That’s why Gundotra’s comments inside his own Google+ posting struck a cord with me today and while the news isn’t specifically T-Mobile related, given that T-Mobile has directly or … [read full article]

Google Unveils Nexus 4 Retail Store Locator, Only Works With T-Mobile Stores Right Now

If you’re still trying to hunt down a Nexus 4, perhaps Google’s new Retail Store locator will aid in your search. Google just unveiled the new Nexus 4 store locator tool via Twitter and it’s downright simple to use. Just type in your address and find a Nexus 4 retailer. Google Shows Off The Nexus 4 And Google Now In Brand New TV Commercial

All it took was 61 seconds during last nights Grammy Awards, but Google has totally won me over with their new television spot. Aptly titled “Nexus 4: Live in the Now,” Google shows off not only the Nexus 4 hardware, but also how useful Google Now can be in the “real world.” No matter where you are in the world, Nexus 4 with Google Now gives you just the right information at just the right time. … [read full article]

Walmart To Start Selling Nexus 4 16GB Model In Near Future? Sources Say Yes

While we’re on the subject this month with Nexus 4 sightings and availability, a new report has arrived via my inbox indicating the next third-party retailer to sell the much desired device will be —-Walmart. Our report indicates inventory will arrive sometime in the very near future, though no specific timeframe or pricing info was mentioned. Given Walmart’s penchant for lower than corporate T-Mobile store pricing, we expect at least some savings. All of this … [read full article]

White Nexus 4 Makes Another Cameo Appearance On The Interwebs

All I can say is…want. That’s it, I want this phone in white. Don’t get me wrong, the Nexus 4 looks great in black and most of all I just want Google and LG to manufacturer enough inventory so everyone who wants one, can get one — but I LOVE this look. After yesterdays tease, seeing the full images leaves little doubt that these images are authentic and that at least one … [read full article]
