MyTouch LE Fender Sells, 17,250 Worth

mytouchsub_wm

Well as it turns out, the MyTouch Fender is fairly popular, to the tune of 17,250 units sold since its release three weeks ago. While it’s a special edition, translation “limited edition” T-Mobile has decided that a second round of orders for the device is necessary and come April, they’ll be stocked and ready. In fact T-Mobile is planning on using some nifty database work to see that stores that have individuals waiting for the phone have an opportunity to get the phone. However, supplies are limited and stock is definitely not guaranteed. So remember, at some point, eBay may be your last resort.

T-Mobile Confirms Existence Of The MyTouch 1.2

mytouch_fresh_tmonews_wm

Remember back in early January, when we were the first to inform you about the myTouch 1.2 and its release date which our sources claimed to be February 10th? Now, thanks to one of our trusty tipsters, T-Mobile has confirmed the existence of the myTouch 1.2 via their internal systems. Additionally, T-Mobile also states the reason as to why the myTouch 3G (Black) and myTouch Fender LE were removed from the Care Upgrade Program. The inventory levels on the myTouch 3G (Black) were limited in order to prepare for the myTouch 3G “refresh”. And it looks like the Fender Edition did sell out, because of the “high demand” and partly because of the limited quantity. The new myTouch 3G with 3.5mm headphone jack is scheduled to release February 10th (just like we told you), and it will replace the original myTouch 3G (Black and white models). T-Mobile states that there will be a “limited supply,” so it looks like T-Mobile isn’t expecting a whole lot of sales to come from the new myTouch 1.2, and quite frankly I don’t see this device selling out. So who is going to get one of these bad boys? Leave your thoughts in the comments!

UPDATE: According to our sources, the myTouch 1.2 will include 256MB Of RAM (same as the Fender LE), and Swype.

MyTouch Fender LE Sells Out? Eric Clapton Rejoices

mytouch_LE_outofstock_tmonews_wm

One of our sources hit us up today with the image above. Apparently, the MyTouch Fender Limited Edition will no longer be available for existing customers that want to upgrade to the handset. Additionally, the original MyTouch 3G in the shade of black, will no longer be available for upgrade either. Our sources are claiming that the reason for the Fender LE removal is because the handset is out of stock in the warehouse. Did the MyTouch 3G Fender really sell out that quickly? I’m not a big fan of Eric Clapton, but the Fender Edition definitely looks sick! Also could the removal of these handsets have something to do with the upcoming MyTouch 1.2, slated for a February 10th release?

T-Mobile To Carry 8 HTC Handsets This Year

htc LOGO

Update: As we think more about this, we have to wonder how valid the count of 8 handsets are and if thats really already including the other 3. We’re not counting the TouchPro2 and the Dash3G. I think we’d be better off just saying that HTC will likely bring more handsets to T-Mobile through 2010. Considering they have only brought Android and Windows Mobile to T-Mobile up to this point, its safe to consider that that pattern will remain constant.

According to guys at BoyGenius, T-Mobile USA is partnering with HTC for “over” 8 HTC handsets in 2010. Of course, that includes the currently available HTC products: MyTouch3G original and upcoming Fender Edition, HTC HD2 and then 5 more devices. This is all unconfirmed of course but BoyGenius considers this source to be pretty solid. According to the article, the remaining handsets are split amongst Android and Windows Mobile. Frankly, lets place Android on the HTC HD2 and sell both an Android and the Windows Mobile version and you’ll please a lot of people.

I think it will come as no surprise that T-Mobile is partnering with HTC for more handsets as they seem to be leading the T-Mobile pack on the high end front. Of course, we’re looking to finding out exactly what handsets we can expect and we’ll bring it to you when we do!

MyTouch3G Fender Edition Delayed?

mytouch3g-fender-edition

For those of you who were looking to combine serious customization and the purchase of a MyTouch3G, the Fender edition looked awesome. Unfortunately, word has hit my inbox regarding a possible delay in expected launch, scheduled for later this year. In fact, it looks as if this Wood Grained beauty won’t drop at all during the holiday season, and instead will be launching after the first of the year. Thankfully, you have still have White, Black and Merlot combined with a super selection of customization options still available to personalize your MyTouch to your heart’s content. Of course, you could always look at other Android options this holiday season.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
