Holiday Offerings From T-Mobile

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/02/2-22-09-t-mobile-store.jpg

This holiday season, T-Mobile will have something for everyone, or at least that is what it seems when you look at their upcoming handsets for the coming months.  You should already know the Cliq by now (if not, then you need to come out from under that rock more often) and we have already shown you the Android powered Behold II.  T-Mobile also has another Android phone in the pipelines, a special edition MyTouch made with Fender (yes, the guitar company).  This phone will sport a 3.5mm headset jack (finally!), pre-installed 16GB microSD card with exclusive pre-loaded video and audio clips by iconic musicians, and it may even have a nice wood finish.  More information on these offerings and a couple of more phones after the break.  Leave your thoughts in the comments!

Behold 2 Goes Official

SGH-t939_front1

Well the Android wars are certainly going to heat up this holiday season and T-mobile isn’t going down without a fight. Casting aside the upcoming launch of the Cliq this month, T-mobile and Samsung have officially announced the Behold 2. While not an unknown device to us, we’ve certainly been short on actual details. Well thats all changed now the announcement offering up exactly what we can expect in the follow up to the Behold.

The sleek touch-screen phone is the first from T-Mobile USA to feature a 3.2-inch AMOLED screen, which provides crisper colors and wider viewing angles.  In addition, the Behold II is equipped with Samsung’s innovative TouchWiz user interface, allowing easy customization with widgets located in a slide out tray on the left side of the home screen and  providing one-touch access to a customer’s favorite and most commonly used features and applications. The Behold II offers three different home screens to drag and drop widgets onto the screen and organize the different workspaces with favorite widgets and application shortcuts. Samsung’s intuitive cube menu also provides quick access to six top multimedia features, including music, photos, videos, the Web, YouTube™ and Amazon MP3 for music downloads.

Expect this Android goodness to drop “around the Holiday’s” at a TBD price.

More pics and press release after the jump!

Behold2 Def Going The Way Of Google

behold2

The Behold is one of those phones whose mere presence in my hand gives me joy. I believe it is truly the most size friendly phone I have ever held, just perfection. That being said, Touchwiz needs some help, an overhaul if you will in its current state. I like it, don’t get me wrong and perhaps Samsung’s upcoming app store will bring a much-needed influx of apps and shortcuts. In the meantime, courtesy of my boy over at DroidDeveloper we get another hint of the next gen Behold, the Behold2 going the way of the Android samurai. Truthfully, pairing Android with the Behold just tickles me the right way, I love seeing those words in the same sentence. Obviously, this is all still a little short on evidence but it’s certainly convincing enough to warrant a post coupled with the past hint of the T939 with Google offerings. Not sure other than Android what a Google offering could mean. Thoughts? Does a Behold with Android on it offer the same spark to anyone else as it does to me? Tell me I am not alone!
