We know the Samsung Behold 2 isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but at $79.99 it might be a little more attractive. The sale runs from the 12th to the 15th. As we noted at the beginning of the week all Samsung Behold 2 accessories are 50% off through that same timeframe. Not a bad deal, but we recommend giving the phone a little trial run in store to see if it meets your wildest Android fantasies!

There is little debate as to what constitutes the hottest OS platform in the mobile industry right now, Android. T-Mobile was the first to bring the Android platform to the masses and has led the pack with the widest selection of devices from the get go. This nifty cheat sheet straight from the T-Mobile website shows some basic breakdowns of the T-Mobile selection and also re-confirms that 256mb of RAM in the MyTouch LE. If you were having a hard time making some Android decisions this may or may not influence you, but it’s certainly an easy breakdown of the main differences among the devices. Of course what it doesn’t tell you is the benefits and/or pitfalls of using a carriers dressed up interface like TouchWiz or MotoBlur which are very much love it or hate it. Regardless, if you’ve been on the fence about picking up an Android device, perhaps this will help.
Suspiciously missing here is the Nexus One, though not directly sold by T-Mobile definitely has the specs to compete and as such, should be listed.

Congratulations go out to Behold22, one of the winners of the Samsung Behold 2 contest and one of our forum regulars. What originally was a too good to be true contest through Samsung with hourly winners had quickly turned into speculation regarding its authenticity. Well question no more as the winners have started receiving their devices along with a lovely letter that points out the need for being a T-Mobile customer to use this device. I wonder how many people entered only to learn that they had to be with T-Mobile?!
Congratulations go out to all the winners and thanks Behold22 for posting the winning pictures on the forum!

The list of phones these days that actually gets me into a frenzy remains remarkably short considering my nerd-like excitement over new devices. That being said, the Samsung Behold 2 was on the short list of phones I was really looking forward to getting for a hands-on evaluation and, thanks to the fine folks at Samsung, TmoNews has its very first review device.

If yesterday’s release of the Samsung Behold 2 didn’t excite you, fear not as it looks like T-Mobile has another Samsung handset up its sleeve. The Samsung T949 is rumored to be coming to our Magenta since T-Mobile gets all manufacturer models that have names starting with “T” and ending with “9″. The T949 is rumored to include a WVGA touch-sensitive screen (native resolution of 800х480), Dolfin 1.5 browser, 3G and A-GPS. The guys over at PhoneArena believe this to be the US version of the popular European Samsung Jet. According to our own ninjas we definitely have strong indications the Samsung T949 is indeed coming soon to Magenta road.

While we have four days remaining until the November 18th official launch date of the T-Mobile Samsung Behold 2, what could be better than perusing the User Manual and Start Guide? If you like reading phone manuals and start guides (Like me) with lots of colorful pictures, than grab a snack, sit back and relax. UPDATE 2: Official T-Mobile Press Release available after the jump!
Today T-Mobile has officially unveiled the Behold 2 at Samsung & T-Mobile’s joint press conference in New York City. Featuring a 3.2-inch AMOLED display, the Samsung Behold 2 will be running Samsung’s new and intuitive cube menu which provides quick access to six top multimedia features, including music, photos, videos, the Web, YouTube and Amazon MP3 for music downloads. What seems odd is that PhoneDog claims the Samsung Behold 2 will pack a $229 2-year commitment price tag instead of the $199.99 2-year commitment price our leaked T-Mobile document displays. The Samsung Behold 2 has gotten plenty of prime time love on the blog lately and deservingly so. Samsung’s first outing on T-Mobile will hopefully be met with lots of fanfare and glowing reviews. While we still await “official” specs, ninja sources have assured me there is very little lag in the interface and we can expect more hands on time later this week. Either way, there is a large gallery after the jump and expect to see more images added today and tomorrow.

With only 11 days remaining until the expected release date of the much anticipated Samsung Behold 2, we all want to know what the specs are and most importantly what version of the Android OS will it ship with. Today, via T-Mobile Phones Blog, it looks like the Behold 2 will sadly ship out with the outdated Android OS 1.5. But not to worry, a new video from Samsung Mobile has confirmed that the Behold 2 will indeed support Android OS 2.0, that is, “when it arrives”. Hey, it’s better than being stuck with OS 1.5.
