$31 billion in bids so far as AWS-3 auction reaches 25th round

T-Mobile, Verizon and Dish among 70 companies allowed to bid at AWS-3 auction

FCC delays 600MHz TV spectrum auction until 2016

The FCC has decided to delay the 600MHz TV spectrum auction initially planned for 2015, due to an impending court case. Gary Epstein, Chair of the FCC’s incentive auction task force, announced the move in a blog posted just a short while ago. Good News! FCC votes in favor of spectrum auction restrictions

The FCC today voted in favor of a decision which will restrict how much spectrum AT&T and Verizon will be able to acquire in next year’s major airwave auction. “In a 3-2 vote along party lines, the Federal Communications Commission approved the plan that would reserve part of the spectrum in each market for wireless carriers that do not already have substantial blocks of low-frequency airwaves there, largely restricting Verizon and AT&T participation.”[read full article]
