Reminder: iOS 8.1 arriving for iPhone and iPad later today (Update: Here!)

UPDATE: iOS 8.1 has rolled out. Let us know how you get on installing it, and if you have any issues. Also, if you try Apple Pay. I’d love to hear how well it works, before it rolls out on my side of the pond.  If you have an iPhone or iPad on T-Mobile’s network, remember that a pretty major “dot” update is coming your way today. iOS 8.1 is expected to land within … [read full article]

iPhone 6 Plus Review – Apple’s outstanding entry to the “phablet” market

I use “phablet” in quotation marks for one reason: While a year or two back, the term could be used for a specific area of the smartphone market, in 2014 that’s not so easy to do. Where there was once a line of size distinction, it’s now blurred. Device screen sizes range from 4.5-inches to 5.7-inches, and many of today’s flagships devices are those with displays above the 5-inch mark. But in Apple’s … [read full article]

Apple iPhone 6 Plus – First impressions [Pics and size comparison]

Apple’s new iPhones are “Bigger than Bigger”, whatever that means, and while it might not apply so much to the 4.7-inch model, it definitely applies to the iPhone 6 Plus. I’ve had it in my possession for approximately 6 hours (at time of writing) and I have to say, I’m so glad I didn’t go for the smaller model. And just so we deal with the elephant in the room first. It’s Big … [read full article]

iPhone 6 and 6 Plus go on sale today

Just in case you somehow forgot, T-Mobile started selling the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in stores and online this morning. And after the eventful pre-order systems meltdown, let’s hope the actual launch is going a little more smoothly. Prices start from $649 for the iPhone 6, with 16, 64 and 128 GB storage models available. The iPhone 6 Plus is $100 more, thanks to its much larger, higher resolution … [read full article]

T-Mobile iPhone 6 pre-orders are live, but not trouble-free

While customers on other carriers, and Apple store visitors could pre-order their iPhone 6′s from 3am Eastern (12am Pacific), T-Mobile customers have been forced to wait. Not exactly fun for those staying up until 3 to get their orders in promptly. But, T-Mobile has finally made its pre-orders available. Head on over to T-Mobile.com and push that “pre order” button to be one of the first to get your hands … [read full article]

T-Mobile iPhone 6 pricing announced, both models from $0 down

T-Mobile today finally announced the pricing for its iPhone 6. It’ll stock both models of the new Apple smartphone, and will sell them both from $0 down. T-Mo, in its typical Uncarrier mentality, has made pricing really simple. The down payment is based on the storage capacity and not screen size. So, your 16GB iPhone 6 will be the same down payment as 16GB iPhone 6 plus. Of course, your monthly payments … [read full article]

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ official, bigger screens, better cameras and more T-Mo friendly

Apple just took the wraps of its new iPhones. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ look exactly like we were expecting. The phones are larger, and thinner than the iPhone 5/5s. iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch, 1334×750 resolution display (326ppi) whereas the iPhone 6+ has a full HD 5.5-inch display (401ppi). But it’s not just the resolution that’s exciting here. The new displays use thinner backlights, and the LCD panel is made with … [read full article]

Next iPhone will be unveiled on September 9

Earlier today, Apple finally sent out official invitations to a special event it’s holding on September 9th. The invite said very little, and didn’t give any of the usual clues we might try to find in a cryptic Apple invitations. “9.9.2014″ and “Wish we could say more” is the extent of the message. That, and part of the iconic Apple logo in the background. Many pundits looking in to things far too deeply … [read full article]
