The preorder date is just around the corner, and the first batch of in depth reviews, of the T-Mobile bound Motorola Cliq, are rolling in. A quick run down would be that Blur looks good, but the battery life in the Cliq is very poor as a product of Blur, if you happen to have a bunch of friends updating their statuses (ironic). Overall, the phone seems to be fairing, well, so so, with some positives and negatives. Notable pluses include the slide out qwerty (which is always a plus), MotoBlur (sure, some quirks, but overall amazing) and a capable (okay, downright loud) speaker and vibrator mechanism. Cons include the same processor that is found in all other Android phones to date (it really is becoming outdated), a slight wobble to the sliding mechanism (though it is solid, it just moves), an overall heft, and Blur drains the battery considerably. Everything else is a mixed bag of pluses and minuses. More videos after the break! Are you going to be getting this Android phone? Leave your opinions and thoughts in comments!
PS. This post will continue to be updated as more reviews come in, so keep in touch (psst, maybe check back around midnight eastern)

It seems like we already know everything we need to about the Blackberry 9700 (T-Mobile just thinks we don’t). T-Mobile, in an effort to entice more corporate customers, has started issuing various invites to a special Blackberry event about a phone with WiFi enabled calling. I don’t know about you, but I am stumped on what it could be. Anyways, I wish I could attend because they are offering up breakfast for attendees (I hope they have waffles), and less importantly, a brand new Blackberry 9700. One of these super special events is in New York on November 5th, while a similar party will be held in Los Angeles On November 3rd. Tell us what you think in the comments (especially if you are lucky enough to get an invite, anyone?).

Well the release of the Blackberry 9700/Onyx at this point is hardly a secret, in fact it’s downright obvious to anyone who reads this site. However, while we’ve been calling for a November 4th/11th launch for well over a month now, BoyGenius recently received his own set of verifiable info confirming the 11th as the launch date. In the grand scheme of things that extra week won’t mean much for Blackberry lovers who have already spent days, weeks and months counting down to go time for a Blackberry 3G. As per usual Blackberry standards we expect this little phone won’t disappoint and will be everything current Blackberry lovers could want. Will it be enough to sway users from another platform? Doubtful. While Blackberry remains one of the most consistent OS’es, they have fallen by the wayside with keeping up on the current standard of browsing and other consumer oriented features. That’s not to say Blackberry isn’t a great device–it is–however it is in a definite need of overhaul. To clarify, when we say overhaul, we mean software, not hardware, as Blackberry hardware remains one of the best QWERTY experiences to date.
Regardless of my little diatribe up there, look for some Blackberry 3G goodness to grace T-Mobile’s shelves one month from now.

With the recent rumor offering up hope that the Nokia N900 will still be landing on Magenta in early 2010, the N900 has showed itself at the Maemo Summit currently taking place. If you weren’t one of the lucky ones able to attend it, (don’t worry we didn’t either), thankfully the action was caught on video. This video focuses on the device’s 3D gaming capabilities and a demonstration playing YouTube videos in the Mozilla-based web browser. While we hope the expected release date comes to fruition, enjoy this video and don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments!
UPDATE: We understand that the N900 is not official yet for any carrier, I have updated to the post to reflect that info! David

You saw the pics our friends over at AndroidandMe took at CTIA 2009 behind the glass. But now Engadget has their hands on this gorgeous device, but sadly they were not about to play around with the phone since neither T-Mobile or Samsung were willing to slip a battery in the phone. With this baby ready just in time for the holidays let us enjoy some pics. So without futher ado, enjoy the in-detail, close-up pics after the break. Feel free to express your thoughts in the comments!

It’s been a while since we’ve heard something REALLY BIG. Well the guys over at PhoneArena have received word from a tipster that T-Mobile is about to “shake up the status quo of the U.S. cellular industry”. T-Mobile employees are being trained tomorrow for “Project Black”. This mysterious but catchy sounding name is supposed to be something so BIG for T-Mobile USA, that it is expected to lift T-Mobile out of 4th place among the nation’s wireless operators (Take that Sprint). PhoneArena’s tipster has stated those involved in this have signed non-disclosure agreements, so this looks to be huge. Also, their tipster also claims that we should expect a 3G enabled BlackBerry (9700 anyone?) headed to T-Mobile by Christmas time. The tipster also bumped into an ex-Nokia Rep who revealed to him that there will be two Nokia N-Series smartphones headed for T-Mobile USA early next year, one of them being the N900 with Maemo5. She says to expect more high-end Nokia devices headed for Magenta in the future. It looks like T-Mobile subscribers just won the Lottery! Sound off in the comments!
UPDATE: After doing a little digging around I’ve found some more interesting info. Our trusted ninja claims that there is something big brewing (not chicken soup) for the end of the month it seems. Bigger than a phone or a promotion plan. Everyone involved in it had to sign secondary non-disclosure agreements apparently. It is seemingly rolling out on October 25th because all field supporting positions are being required to work (its a Sunday) to support this mystery offering. Trainings will be the Friday before. T-Mobile USA is keeping this a super big secret so nobody knows what it is quite yet.

After getting approved by the FCC and then introducing itself to the public officially, the Behold 2 poses for the camera! The guys over at AndroidandMe, while they were at CTIA 2009, took the time to get a load of pics of the upcoming T-Mobile Behold 2 running Android and using Samsung’s TouchWiz interface on a beautiful 3.2 inch AMOLED screen. If you aren’t already aware of what this baby packs, here it is:
The sleek touch-screen phone is the first from T-Mobile USA to feature a 3.2-inch AMOLED screen, which provides crisper colors and wider viewing angles. In addition, the Behold II is equipped with Samsung’s innovative TouchWiz user interface, allowing easy customization with widgets located in a slide out tray on the left side of the home screen and providing one-touch access to a customer’s favorite and most commonly used features and applications. The Behold II offers three different home screens to drag and drop widgets onto the screen and organize the different workspaces with favorite widgets and application shortcuts. Samsung’s intuitive cube menu also provides quick access to six top multimedia features, including music, photos, videos, the Web, YouTube™ and Amazon MP3 for music downloads
More pics after the break! Don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments!
