Nothing says “buy me” like a glossy advertisement and that’s exactly what T-Mobile is dropping in their stores. The trifecta of upcoming phones arguably covers the entire gambit of needs for smartphone lovers everywhere. If you want some Android goodness, the Cliq XT with some MotoBlur window dressing has you covered. Perhaps you want a touchscreen without all the smartphone frills but with some extra horsepower over that standard flip. The Nokia Nuron is waiting for you. Then, of course, there is the prize, the Transformers viewing, E Reading, 4.3-inch screen browsing Windows Phone bad boy. The HTC HD2 needs no introduction on this blog but I do love watching Transformers over and over and over. I know it’s a Michael Bay movie but I watch it for the explosions and testing my subwoofer, not the storyline! Duh! Anyway, this advertisement is ready for showtime come March 24th and you can bet T-Mobile is looking for this trifecta of devices to lead their second quarter charge.

T-Mobile is getting into the holiday spirit and offering some pretty nice deals. Anywhere from discounts on various handsets to apparently now, BOGO offers. Starting today December 17th through December 20th, T-Mobile Corporate Stores will be offering BOGO (Buy one get one free) on all smartphones. But wait there’s a catch! According to BoyGeniusReport, this offer will not be available in all T-Mobile Retail Stores. But being the awesome wireless provider T-Mobile is, most T-Mobile retail locations will “Price match” as long as you have some form of proof that the offer exists.
To take advantage of this offer, you will need to activate two new lines of service. For example you can purchase a BlackBerry Bold 9700 and get the HTC Touch Pro2 for free, or get a myTouch 3G and receive the G1 for free.
Sound off in the comments! Anyone take advantage of this awesome offer?

The recent speculation for “Project Dark” has allowed T-Mobile to create an internet buzz not seen for them across the blogosphere since the days leading up to the G1 launch. We have stated, based on the writings of others that T-Mobile USA needs a win and soon, so Deutsche Telekom can rest a little easier at night. Rumors surrounding what “Project Dark” really is remain both secretive and mysterious. BoyGenius reports this afternoon that one of their “connects” has stated that they believe it is both a handset launch and a rapid network upgrade. Our sources have remained tight-lipped but have hinted toward a rate plan revamp worthy of taking the wireless world by storm. Which rumor is true? Nobody at this point knows and you should not take any of them as gospel, as nothing said has shown to be completely 100% factual.
We know new handsets are launching, T-Mobile has stated so much themselves. So why would such launches be so wildly secretive and mysterious? They would not be, not unless it was tied to something much more buzz worthy. To that end, we will continue to play the guessing game and wait for the inevitable leak. Until then, discuss away in the forums, the comments or at the water cooler. One thing is for sure, this hype had better not be for naught or the moans and groans of T-Mobile customers will be caught on the Richter scale.

It’s no secret that T-Mobile has been stepping up their advertising campaign lately. It has been a natural progression of course; starting with commercials, then moving to an extremely personalized press event and now their latest propaganda, people jumping out of perfectly good planes and plummeting to the Earth (with some fancy flips, synchronization and safe landings thrown in there somewhere). It appears that T-Mobile is going all out for the launch of the MyTouch 3G tomorrow by coordinating a massive aerial spectacle above the San Francisco skies. There will be fly by jets, skywriting and 100 skydivers dressed up as different personalities (and at least one Elvis), landing in four different locations around the city (if you are interested: Justin Herman Plaza, Marina Green Park, Pier 39, and Moscone Recreation Center). The real party looks to be at Justin Herman Plaza, where MyTouch fanatics (and onlookers) will have the chance to interact with the skydivers and product ambassadors, sample the MyTouch as well as having the chance to win exciting prizes, all building up to a human chain that will lead to a nearby T-Mobile retail store for a variety of giveaways (including devices, SWAG bags and more!). In case you wanted a simple breakdown of what to expect, here it is:
- Synchronized stunt-dressed skydivers with unique personalities and special effects
- Jet fly-bys/air show stunt
- Colorful, synchronized skydiver landings, and skywriting
- Large on-site screen with live broadcasting (skycams) from the sky and ground
- Large groups of excited consumers
- Giveaways, live music, device demos and sampling
- “Human chain”/street team
Is anyone else excited for the launch of this phone? If so, make your voice heard in the comments!
