Take-away from Q3 earnings call: “We’re not done yet”

In my short time here at TmoNews one thing’s become increasingly clear: Many of you are frustrated by the coverage in some areas. Some of those are only a short distance from major metro areas, who get the benefit of the carrier’s fastest available coverage. Incredibly frustrating for you guys, I’m sure. Others – more understandably – are in rural areas of low focus for any carrier. As I’m typing this, T-Mobile’s chiefs … [read full article]

T-Mobile clears up and reiterates “Free Data For Life” 200MB tablet deal

Yesterday morning it became abundantly clear that consumers had become very confused over the iPad+free data offer on T-Mobile. We attempted to clear it up a little. Essentially, the confusion arose when new customers without pre-existing phone plans on Tmo thought they could walk in to a store, get an iPad on the “zero down” financing offer and get the 200MB free each month without signing up to any other plan. Clearing up the confusion surrounding iPad Air “zero down” and “200MB free” offers

When the iPad Air pricing was announced last week, on the Apple store website it became clear that taking a cellular model iPad was going to pose a fantastic benefit for customers taking a tablet with a SIM from our favorite magenta carrier. Buying a cellular iPad with a Tmo SIM would give consumers a free 200MB slice of data each month to use with their brand new tablet. But there’s been some … [read full article]

T-Mobile Has Taught Us That Change Is Not Always Bad

T-Mobile has made some incredible decisions this year regarding their company. It all started back when they dubbed themself the “Uncarrier”, the only carrier out of the big four in the United States that ditched contracts entirely. There were no more hidden fees, you get what you pay for. You didn’t even have subsidized pricing on phones anymore; instead you paid for your device full price over time. It was a decision that was both … [read full article]

Simple is better, which is why we’re reducing the number of older plans in our systems. We’re giving customers on these plans the opportunity to choose a plan that best meets their needs. For the vast majority, their … [read full article]
