15+15 LTE pops up in Ludlow, MA

T-Mobile’s network upgrades are gathering pace as we near yet another major Uncarrier announcement. One of the latest towns to see T-Mo’s “Data Strong” wideband is Ludlow in Massachusetts. Uncarrier 7.0 is coming – T-Mobile sends invites for September 10th event

Invites are out! T-Mobile’s next Uncarrier initiative is officially happening the day after Apple announces its next iPhone. Bloomberg: Deutsche Telekom open to selling T-Mobile US at $35/share

According to Bloomberg, T-Mobile’s parent company, Deutsche Telekom is open to negotiating a sale of its U.S. carrier, but only if an offer matches or exceeds its $35 per share valuation. The information was passed on to the site by “a person with knowledge of the matter.” Senior management of the German company allegedly met in Berlin today, purely to discuss T-Mobile’s valuation. … [read full article]

T-Mobile LTE spotted in Cincinnati, should be up and running by November

Cincinnati-ans, rejoice! Sensorly mapping would suggest that T-Mobile’s network gurus have heard your prayers for LTE to arrive. A couple of readers got in touch with us to share the good news that downtown Cincinnati, OH has its first taste of LTE going live right now. T-Mo Galaxy S5 firmware update available

This morning, T-Mobile and Samsung rolled out an OTA update for the Galaxy S5. It’s not a major software update by any means, but it is a firmware update designed to boost performance and reliability. It’s still Android 4.4.2, but with baseband version G900TUVU1BNG4. Update details simply states “Improved performance” for the 87MB download. Pretty vague, and certainly a minor improvement.
