Invites are out! T-Mobile’s next Uncarrier initiative is officially happening the day after Apple announces its next iPhone. The FCC has published a forfeiture order informing T-Mobile that it must pay a penalty of $819,000 for failing to meet requirements to sell a certain number of hearing aid compatible phones. According to Bloomberg, T-Mobile’s parent company, Deutsche Telekom is open to negotiating a sale of its U.S. carrier, but only if an offer matches or exceeds its $35 per share valuation. This morning, T-Mobile and Samsung rolled out an OTA update for the Galaxy S5. It’s not a major software update by any means, but it is a firmware update designed to boost performance and reliability. It’s still Android 4.4.2, but with baseband version G900TUVU1BNG4. Update details simply states “Improved performance” for the 87MB download. Pretty vague, and certainly a minor improvement.
