Walmart Price Drops

G1-Walmart_0

Looking to get a T-Mobile phone a little bit cheaper than everyone else? Well then, Walmart is your answer. If you can’t stand the T-Mobile prices then head over to Walmart for discounted prices on the MyTouch 3G, G1, Samsung Highlight, and Blackberry 8120 (frost, white, and black). New customers willing to sign a two year-contract can pick up a MyTouch 3G for $98.88 and a G1 for $48.88. Samsung Highlight for $18.88 (which is also eligible for a FlexPay plan), and the Blackberry 8120 for $28.88 (frost, white, and black) which is also eligible for Flexpay–but unlimited messaging is required for this device. Well there you have it! Head over to your nearest Walmart store or shop online to take advantage of these offers!

Sidekick LX Price Drop

Have you ever thought about getting the new Sidekick LX 2009, but just couldn’t stomach the $250 price tag?  Well, now you can snatch up the new Sidekick in both Carbon and Orchid flavors for the low low lower price of $174.99 on contract, after discounts.  Seems like a standard price reduction, which in my opinion is overdue for a higher end messaging device.  Is anyone out there going to find themselves in a T-Mobile Store desperately asking for this phone?   Leave your opinions in the comments.

Click For The Holidays

I don’t know about you, but when I hear HTC I think about high end, most likely Windows Mobile, phones.  Well, as we have heard before, HTC is planning to attack the midrange handset audience this year with the HTC Click.  HTC is really hoping (warning, financial mumbo jumbo to follow) to increase its revenues 11% and its shipments 19% in the latter half of this year (late Q3 or Q4) by releasing the low end Android device and some Windows Mobile device for another carrier (unimportant). Little is known about the extremely pocketable device, except for its full retail price of around $300, but I would say its bound to be similar to that windows mobile device, which has a 2.8-inch QVGA (240×320) touchscreen display, a 3 megapixel camera, GPS and a 528 MHz processor.  What do you think about a holiday season full of Clicks? Let us know in the comments!

Huawei Android Actually 8220?

huawei_8220

It has been a while since we have heard anything about the Huawei Android phone, but there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t dream about it.  In June we thought we were getting the 8230 in the third quarter of this year (how I wish that would happen) but there is some speculation that T-Mobile USA will be getting the 8220 (just like our European counter part).  Little is known about the 8220, also known as Pulse, except that it has just received its WiFi certificate, it has a 3.5 inch touch screen, Bluetooth, a 3MP camera and 256 MB of memory (expandable to 16 GB).  Like I said, little is known about the 8220 and whether it will be the lone Huawei Android phone on T-Mobile USA or if it will accompany the 8230.  Leave your thoughts in the comments and compare the 8220 to the 8230 after the break!

Samsung Gravity 2 User Manual Leaked

gravity2

I received a document, via email, today, and boy is it a real page turner.  I seriously *yawn* can’t put this thing down.  Well, while we are patiently waiting for the launch of this midrange text centered qwerty slider you can read up on how to use it.  I won’t bore you with the details of Making a Call and Switching the Phone On or Off (both real sections in the user manual) but you can read it yourself.  Just as a reminder, this phone is 3g enabled, has a 2 megapixel camera, supports MMS, calculator, phonebook and, um, makes calls!  Oh, and you can pick up this lovely 3G qwerty slider at The Shack, when it drops of course.  One page after the break.

More Ninjas! YAY!

Touch Pro 2 Reviews Galore

250x270

The time has finally come to see some great reviews of the much anticipated (and frankly, past due) Windows Mobile device.  The Touch Pro 2 is hitting the shelves Wednesday August 12th and more people will be camping out for it than the iPhone 3GS (okay, maybe not).  Everyone’s favorite tech blogs (Engadget, Gizmodo, SlashGear and PhoneDog) have all had their time with the Touch Pro 2 and written typed out their opinions for all to ogle see.  It seems like everyone loves the keyboard (saying that it is one of the best, ever), the huge 3.6 inch WVGA touch screen, the speaker phone and TouchFlo 3D (honestly, who doesn’t? It hides Windows Mobile so well).  They didn’t like that there is no 3.5 mm headphone jack (an adapter is included), there is no UMA calling, HTC decided to make Internet Explorer the default browser (WHAT?! Opera Mobile is included, but kind of hidden, you should find it though), that it doesn’t have a capacitive touch screen (though the resistive touchscreen works beautifully) and that T-Mobile capped conference calling at three people.  There were mixed opinions on the size of the device; some are calling it bulky while others agree that it is manageable for a phone of its stature.  Still having mixed opinions on this device?  Check out the reviews for yourself, or go experience this phone at a local T-Mobile store, it is well worth it.  Oh, and two last things.  The Touch Pro 2 is on the website and will cost $550, um… $279.99? $349.99 with a two year contract and will have a full retail price of $213,487.23 $549.99.  Leave your celebratory comments, thoughts and opinions!  Official photos after the break (not like you didn’t know what it looked like already).

Rover Spotted In The Wild

Front

Not long after catching wind of this device( for the second time), courtesy of the FCC files, this Nokia Tablet has been spotted and photographed in the wild.  The pictures, courtesy of commenter Speedy over at Engadget, clearly show the model number (RX-51), and are strikingly similar to the renders that we have seen before.  The back captures the rumored 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss lens.  The interesting part, however, is that there appears to be a speaker on the front.  Maybe this internet tablet will be capable of placing calls as well as navigating the web over T-Mobile 3G.  More pictures after the break.

EngadgetUPDATE  – Two more pictures (including whats in the box) added!

UPDATE 2 – Another picture added.  There appears to be an AV out cable included, making this a nifty device for the modern business person.

T-Mobile's offerings at "The Shack"

So we know that T-Mobile is about to be offered at Radioshack The Shack (heard the rebranding news?) but what we didn’t quite know is what phones would be offered at their locations at launch. Thanks to BGR’s ninja we know it’ll launch two weeks from tomorrow and there’s a list of 11 devices, both postpaid and prepaid. Here they are:

Postpaid handsets:

  • Samsung T239 (red)
  • Sony Ericsson TM506 (amber)
  • Samsung Gravity 2
  • Samsung Comeback (red)
  • BlackBerry Curve 8900
  • Samsung Behold
  • HTC myTouch 3G (black & white)
  • Prepaid handsets:

  • Nokia 1661
  • Samsung T239 (gray)
  • Nokia 2760
  • Samsung T349
  • As for the whole The Shack thing? Apparently they are still going to be called Radioshack and will still have all the signage showing so, but they will also be called The Shack… or maybe that’s just “referred to as” The Shack. Hmm… well no matter what they’re called, they’re now a T-Mobile Authorized Dealer.

Motorola Morrison Hits FCC, Motorola Lives Another Day

    504x_motorola-morrison-phandroid-550x4121

Oh, all powerful FCC, what have you bestowed upon us today?  It seems like the Federal Communications Commission has outed an upcoming T-Mobile phone in its own special way!  Some people [s]with way too much time on their hands who know what they are doing have dug up the FCC report of the Motorola Morrison.  The Morrison has everything you would expect from an Android Phone ( you know, talking phone, speaker phone, camera, video, video player, music player, bluetooth, text messaging, html browsing, Android OS; you know, the works!) plus a little extra.  Deep inside the report uncovers that this special slider has 3G, Wifi, and apparently (wait for it….) UMA support.  Isn’t that a nifty set of features.  It seems like this phone has grown up a bit since the early pictures from a month ago.

    Exchange ActiveSync for G1!

    2009-07-14-14.28.31

Remember when T-mobile mentioned Exchange support for the Mytouch and all the G1 owners were happy.  Then they dropped a bomb on all the G1 owners when they blatantly said “NO!” Well, the “work e-mail” from HTC, that will not be released in the Android Market but will be included with the MyTouch, has found its way to the internet to show G1 users some love, unofficially.  Just as an add on, you can also download the nifty Sherpa app at the same spot.  Just navigate your Android browser to this location, point and touch (or click with the track ball, your choice). Short disclaimer after the break.
