Shadow II release date!

tmobileshadowiiavailabltx1

Oh windows fans, Shadow II time!! Thats right, we’re not talking about Android right now. In fact thats the last time I’ll use that word in this article. The HTC Cleopatra, aka Shadow II has a tentatively scheduled release date of October 20th. For you Windows Mobile fans, rejoice you finally have a new device. Scheduled to come in a Red version as this sketchy picture from ebay shows and a Green/White model, this should definitely excite at least 4 people. Specs are still a little vague but we’re still expecting WM6.1, wifi and hotpsot @home capability. Enjoy windows fans!

It will cost $149.99 after a Mail in Rebate

See, nothing about Android here, oops I said that word again.

Make sure to check our upcoming phone thread for up to date release information!

Now, back to playing with google chrome. www.google.com/chrome

Dual-sim Hotspot@Home router FTW

Well our inbox this morning had another little goody in it. LiquidCipher of forums.tmonews.com fame was kind enough to send some pics over of the new hotspot@home router lauching sometime early next month. This one has a few extra goodies though. He was even kind enough to write up his own little review for us. I love it when someone does all the work for me.

“Well boys and girls, with the looming relaunch of Hotspot@Home just days away we found a nice surprise on our doorstep this morning. The new Linksys WRTU54G-TM wireless router. Thats right, TM for T-Mobile!

This router sports some average goodies along with a few hidden tricks. As expected, the 802.11G wifi is optimized for Talk Forever Mobile phones such as the Blackberry Pearl 8120 and Nokia 6086. The Linksys delivers the ever so common 4 ethernet jacks for hardwiring your desktop, slingbox, tivo and Xbox360’s. But thats where this device leaves the realm of common routers and slides into something new. Next to the the 4 ethernet ports you now have 2 RJ-11 ports (think telephony). These are to take advantage of T-Mobiles new Hotspot@Home service. With the service enabled, and a T-Mobile sim installed into the belly of the beast, you can now take full advantage of T-Mobiles new home-based VOIP service. The router will support not just one, but two sim cards allowing for multiple numbers to be handled by just one router which is great for people who have multiple lines or run a small businesses out of there home.

More information will be available about the service and the router when the service launches the beginning of July so keep and eye here for the latest information about the carrier we all know and love”

Thanks Liquid!

Motorola Z6W Coming July 7th

For those excited over the upcoming Z6W, we were sorry to shatter your hope last week over our post that the Z6W might not be coming to T-mobile. Thankfully, that rumor was wrong. We have confirmed that the Z6W will be out on July 7th. That is, of course, unless T-mobile changes the launch date. Sporting a 2 MP camera, 7 hours of talk time, video capture, and wifi, this phone doesn’t leave that much to complain about. Here is another check on T-mobile’s 10 new H@H phones before back to school. Sorry to give you a scare like that, but now that we know it really is coming, we can all rest easier. Sound off in the comments below, who plans on getting the Z6W, and why?

Hotspot@Home = Free international calls to the U.S.

As it turns out, T-mobile doesn’t monitor the origination of the I.P. address for their Wifi Hotspot@Home calls. Translation: If you make a call using T-mobile’s Hotspot@Home, they don’t care where it is from. We’re not talking calls from places like California, Texas, and New York. We’re talking Argentina, China, London, Israel, and South Africa…Anywhere that has open Wifi, you can make a UMA call to the US for no international roaming charge. Now, if you don’t have unlimited Hotspot@Home minutes they will be deducted out of your anytime minutes bucket (unless it is Nights, Weekends, or M2M) But if you want to talk as long as you want snatch up T-mobile’s $9.99 Unlimited Hotspot@Home add-on. We know this is starting to sound like an advertisement for T-mobile; we’re just excited that we can travel around the world, and still make free calls to the US wherever we find open Wifi! We have read reports of inferior call quality while making these international Wifi calls, but really, is that unexpected? Still a great deal

T-mobile, why are you not advertising this?!

More

Clarification: This article refers to ONLY calls made outside the U.S., to a U.S. phone number. The following are NOT free: Calls made from the U.S. to an international number, or from overseas, to an overseas number.

T-mobile's plans through Aug. 2008

The Nokia 5310 and the Nokia 5610

Have you been looking for some confirmation on when those Nokias are going to drop? Well here it is. The Nokia 5310 and 5610 will be launched on May 21st, no doubt about it. The Hotspot@Home friendly 6301 seems to be getting released on the 19th. Also, for those interested in the new colors for the W490, it looks like you will see Heather Grape and Bubble Gum launched on Monday May 5th. We’re still in for a color-refresh on the 12th, maybe just a black with red accents W490, or for you Pearl 2 8120 hopefuls, it could be some new 8120 colors. Oh, so you want to know more huh? Well I guess we can do that. Starting June 1st we should see a big new advertising campaign titled “Coverage Is Personal.” This campaign ends on June 25th, but as to not let you down, that so happens to be the day T-mobile is nationally launching T-mobile TalkForever II, with the new router and Vtech cordless phone. One final note, the Motorola Z6w is no longer listed as an upcoming phone. We are working to confirm this, but those Z6w hopefuls may have to snatch one off of ebay.

10 new H@H handsets in 5 months?

Here at TNews, we have been tipped a couple times now, that by the time back-to-school roles around the big T is going to have released ten (Count it, yes…1,2,3,4…10!) NEW Hotspot@Home phones. Sounds like they are really going to try to push the release of TalkForever II, their second phase of H@H. Lets count the phones we already know about:

1. Blackberry Pearl 2 (8120)

2. Motorola Z6W

3. Samsung T339

4. Nokia 6301

5. T-mobile Shadow II

Well we’re half way there! If this goal of 10 new phones holds up, that means we have 5 UMA handsets in the next 5 months that we don’t even know about yet. Oh…and and you might be wondering about the Shadow II we posted huh? We don’t have pictures (yet), but we can tell you it will be faster, slimmer, the corners will be more curved, and, of course, it will support T-mobile Hotspot@Home.

Some fun T-Mobile updates (10 new UMA phones!)

We just received a tip that the TalkForever II, which was previously delayed, has been set for launch on April 15th. Although this date isn’t set in stone, its as good as your gonna get for now.

As long as we’re on the subject, we’ll let you in on another little secret. By the time Back To School rolls around, T-mobile plans on having 10 NEW UMA (Hotspot@Home) phones out. Sounds like a stretch to us, but we’re rooting for ya T-mobile! We definitely wont complain about 10 new H@H phones.

T-mobile’s higher-ups are plaining on releasing an Iphone killer in the Q3 of 2008. Most likely (although still a guess) is the Blackberry 9000. No matter what it is, it WILL be a touch screen with BB power.

The Shadow MKII should be out during the summer also. T-mobile put pretty tight cost-restrictions on HTC while making the Shadow, which annoyed some HTC employees who stuck them with the same processor as the Dash. The good news, however, is that the Shadow MKII should see all-around improvements. A slimmer and more round shape for sure. Thats all for now folks, but keep your eyes open (especially for the pictures of the new Shadow), we have some more fun information coming soon.

T-Mobile TalkForever II – Delayed

T-mobile: In order to ensure a positive customer experience, we have delayed TalkForever for another two to three months.

Translation: Woah! We messed up, give us some time to cover our @$$€$ while we try to fix it and release it again.

Traditionally, T-mobile has made it a point to get it right the first time, or delay it. So keeping with tradition, T-mobile has decided the delay the release of TalkForever II. Originally, we expected this new service on April 30th, along with a new linksys router, and a cordless Vtech phone. From what we can tell, the release date is tentative for July 2nd, which seems odd to us because T-mobile never releases products on Tuesdays, but I guess we will have to wait and see.
