The FCC and the Justice Department are already reviewing the proposed AT&T takeover of T-Mobile and have now asked AT&T to substantiate their claims of spectrum shortages. T-Mobile Reports First Quarter 2011 Results

T-Mobile reported their first quarter 2011 results this morning ending up with a net customer loss of 99,000 in the first quarter compared to 77,000 in the first quarter of 2010. T-Mobile USA now serves 33.63 million customers at the end of Q1 2011 down from 33.73 million at the end of the fourth quarter of 2010. Department Of Justice Asks For More Information On AT&T/T-Mobile Acquisition

The Department of Justice has extended its review of the AT&T proposal for its $39 billion dollar acquisition of T-Mobile due to requests for new information. This move could allow the Justice Department to extend it’s review of the proposed deal indefinitely.
