T-Mobile has updated their support documents for both the T-Mobile G2 and myTouch 4G allowing for customers to walk into a local T-Mobile store and upgrade their device to Gingerbread. We’re not exactly sure what is going on and this story is still developing but in the last few days T-Mobile G2 users have taken to the interwebs including our own inbox as well T-Mobile’s support forums complaining of sudden and massive battery drains. As of early this morning T-Mobile has tweaked their support document pertaining to the myTouch 4G software update allowing for customers to enter a T-Mobile store beginning August 5th and receive the update manually. While the document states that customers who have not received their OTA update, it makes no mention to the timeframe of the broader rollout that was supposed to happen after the pilot rollout.
