So, you have seen some amazing videos, fantastic pictures, and even the price for the HTC HD2, and it couldn’t get any better, right?  Well, you are right, because this will hit you like a ton of bricks or feathers (depending on how comfortable you want to be when that ton hits you).  It has been confirmed that the HTC HD2 will not be upgradeable to Windows Phone 7.  I’ll repeat, it WILL NOT be upgradeable to Windows Phone 7. I know it was touch and go there for a while, but Joe Belfiore has brought down his hammer.  Maybe you can live with a skin or just stick with that glorious Sense UI (which I still like more than WP7 anyways).  So, does this change your opinion on buying the HTC HD2 or are you holding off until WP7 arrives? Let us know in the comments!
Whatever you do, DO NOT SIT ON YOUR NEXUS ONE. Wait, it gets more interesting.  Crave UK, who owns the cracked Nexus seen above, swears that it just randomly cracked while charging, but HTC’s technical support is saying “they don’t go in pockets”. The response states that “putting a phone in a tight pair of jeans and sitting down would usually cause the kind of damage” seen above.  I guess that means you should either carry your phone, do the smart thing and put it in your front pocket, ditch those skinny jeans (I am not a fan of skinny jeans), or purchase some WTFjeans when they become available.  It gets worse.  They also say that it will cost you around $270 to fix a cracked screen which I think is a bit high. Leave your thoughts, or horror stories, in the comments! Larger image after the jump!
Starting March 14th, T-Mobile will be making some changes to its coverage map.  While there won’t be any massive, earth-shaking changes going on here (yeah, I’m looking at you, Chile earthquake, that is robbing us of 1.26 microseconds daily), the map will be updated to more accurately reflect voice and data coverage. First, when you zoom out, you will see the overall coverage. As you can see, there is a lot of green where people actually live (I’m sorry, rural country people).  When you zoom in, though, you will get some shading to show you the level of outdoor coverage.  A new color will be added to the data coverage map to show off the new super fast data speeds. Feel free to peruse the images past the break and leave your thoughts in the comments!
As we have been telling you for a while now, T-Mobile is finally pulling the plug on their T-Mobile@Home service on March 23rd. Â While you will not be able to purchase it as a consumer, it will continue to be available for business accounts. Â In addition, T-Mobile will continue to service and support T-Mobile@Home customers. Â If you are still looking for a landline alternative, get out to a T-Mobile store today and activate your Even More Plus plan with T-Mobile@Home for an additional $10 per month, or $15 for Even More plans, before March 23rd. Â While it seems sad that they are killing off this great feature, do you really need it when you have unlimited plans? Â Leave your thoughts in the comments!
Have you been longing for Moto Blur, but you would really appreciate a thinner device and no keyboard? (GASP! I know, but I fit into that category) The WiFi equipped, Android 1.5, Blur covered Cliq XT might just be your phone. It is rumored to be launching on March 10th.  While nothing is completely shocking about this phone, I hear there is a secret feature which is quite interesting. Apparently, the face of the phone outside of the trackpad is also touch sensitive (ending just past the bottom of the screen). This could make it possible to select apps without touching the screen or the trackpad.  While I can’t see how this is incredibly useful, kudos for novelties.  There are a few more pictures after the break and leave your thoughts in the comments.
Do you have an Android phone? Do you like viewing your account and changing account settings on the fly? Â Then this update it for you. Â T-Mobile has updated the App to include two menu icons, My Account and Help, and it now allows you to switch to paperless billing or make payments using previously stored information. Â They also added some extra security, making you sign in with your My T-Mobile password or the last 4 digits of your social security number. Â You can find the update in the market, but chances are you have already received that notification, maybe.
This problem just won’t go away.  Even after the latest OTA update, the Nexus One is still having 3G problems.  As you will see in the video above, 3G connectivity changes dramatically just by how the phone is being held.  Now, if you ask me, this certainly doesn’t sound like a T-Mobile 3G problem.  Also, I’m not one to point fingers at a certain Chrome and Buzz-ing company, especially since they have so much power in this world.  With that being said, this seems like a hardware problem that really needs to be addressed and fast.  Otherwise, I propose a riot (holding pitchforks and phones, with a certain lighter app, in the air).  Are you still having 3G problems on the Nexus One?  If so, feel free the vent in the comments.
Let’s be honest, the most coveted phone processor out there (right now) is the Snapdragon processor. Â It is advancing smartphones past their cell phone cousins and putting them closer to netbooks. Â Currently, you can get your hands on this beautiful piece of silicon if you get yourself a Nexus One. Â If you are in to waiting, then you know the HTC HD2 also features this very same processor and it will soon grace us with its presence. Â With these two monsters humming along with a snapdragon processor, and running on T-Mobile’s 3G, we will have the choice of two of the most powerful and advanced cell phones in the world. Â This may make a decision between the two extremely difficult. Â Step in the PhoneDog/DroidDog crew to put together one of their Dog Fights of these super phones. Â [I'll warn you though, John Walton (the guy who is lucky enough to spend time with both simultaneously) is a die hard Android fan]. Â Personally, I could go either way, but I am saving my opinion until after Microsoft shows off Windows Mobile 7. Â With that, go forth and watch the gorgeous hardware that HTC has manufactured. Â Part two after the break and don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments!
It is always a sad day when a popular phone is killed off, and it appears that RIMs Blackberry 8900 is the next phone to be discontinued.  T-Mobile has said that the 8900 has “reached the end of it’s life cycle.”  Well, that was blunt of them.  Let’s just look towards the future, and hope for an 8910 in the future, a Pearl 9100 wouldn’t be bad either.  Honestly, I think this is RIMs way of waging war on trackballs (LONG LIVE THE TRACKPAD!!!!).  Leave your condolences in the comments!
This is kind of a good news, bad news (well, mediocre) post.  Good News: anyone with a MyTouch should be getting an over the air update.  Bad News: this isn’t Android 2.1, or even 2.1.  Instead, this update is to make sure that you get a nice little notification for missed calls.  Not a huge update, but important nonetheless.  If you are getting this update, or just have some thoughts on the matter, sound off in the comments!
