T-Mobile LG V20 security update now rolling out

lgv20pairtmo

With just weeks to go before the LG V30’s debut, T-Mobile and LG are pushing out an update to last year’s V20.

The T-Mobile LG V20 is now receiving a software update with new security patches. TmoNews reader Chintan received the update today, and as you can see in the screenshot below, it includes the July 1, 2017 Android security patches.

According to T-Mobile’s LG V20 support page, this update also includes “various bug fixes and software improvements.”

This update is now rolling out over the air, so if you haven’t gotten it on your V20 yet, it should arrive in the coming days. If you’re feeling impatient, you can manually check for the update by going into Settings > General > About phone > Update Center > System update > Check for update.

Thanks, Chintan!

Received it late last night. Kind of a big update for only a Security patch. So far I haven’t noticed anything different although it did have a weird “loading app” symbol that would appear and disappear every once in a while which I thought was a little strange. Anyone else notice anything different or had the same experience as myself?

It’s not just a security patch.

I noticed nothing new except now my Facebook app dings at me when someone replys to my post. Hopefully this wasn’t one of those “screw with your phone updates” like Samsung releases right before they release the newer model. I know the LG V30 is around the corner so…..
