T-Mobile Tuesdays app hit with server issues due to high demand, T-Mo working on it

tmobiletuesdays

UPDATE: The T-Mobile Tuesdays app is now telling some users that the offer isn’t available anymore. Meanwhile, John Legere says that the app is still seeing strong demand, promising “you won’t lose anything and we’ll make this right ASAP.”

UPDATE 2: John Legere and T-Mobile say that the T-Mobile Tuesdays app should now be working properly, so if you haven’t yet claimed your free pizza or Frosty, give it a try!

Today is the very first T-Mobile Tuesday, and so lots of folks want to get their free pizza, Frosty, and movie rental. Unfortunately, the T-Mobile Tuesdays app is having some issues.

Lots of T-Mobile customers are reporting that they’re getting an error when trying to #GetThanked with the T-Mobile Tuesdays app. Here’s an example of the error screen that people are seeing:

T-Mobile and CEO John Legere have both commented on the app’s server issues, saying that there’s extremely high demand for free pizza, Frostys, and movies. T-Mo says that it’s working on the issue, but hasn’t said when the server problems might be cleared up.

Considering that this is the first T-Mobile Tuesday and we’re just one day out from T-Mo’s announcement of Un-carrier 11, it’s no surprise that demand for the free goodies is high. If you’re having problems connecting to the T-Mobile Tuesdays app to claim your free food, you may want to wait a few hours and try again. You might not get free pizza for lunch, but hopefully you’ll be able to get it for dinner.

Have you tried to claim your free pizza, Frosty, VUDU rental, and Warcraft ticket through T-Mobile Tuesdays? If so, were you successful or were you met with an error message?

Servers going down coinciding with Dominos opening. Not really happy about this. They should have tested better or made the first week open every day as a kick off so they could gauge how many people would end up redeeming. They need to do something compensate pissed off people. I know all this stuff is free but it was heavily promoted and this has been a failure today. Way to kill loyalty if they don’t resolve this soon.

    • Phillip

Wow, for a free item you sure sound butt hurt. Just wait it out man. Its not like your missing out on millions of dollars. Compensate for a free item that before yesterday you wouldn’t have gotten anyways. Haha. Slow your jets buddy just relax and your free stuff will come rolling in soon.

      • keepitreal25

I won’t say butt hurt but I agree , seems like yesterday it was a ton of people complaining about the free items being offered and figured today it would be some people who would complain when they couldn’t access the very said free items, they claimed they wouldn’t use lol. I don’t know how something free that will be offered every week would hurt loyalty , but hey to each his own

    • DV

I agree with you. In my opinion, high demand should not be an excuse when you are giving away free stuff, they should have expected high demand and put in place contingencies.

    • vikings football

connection to a website that has high demand is always an issue, its no mystery bro…it happens LOL

  • Mark

The app goes live at 5am on Tuesdays. That means the codes start at 5am. I got on the app at 7am I took screenshots of my pizza code so I could use it for lunch. I knew their app would get slammed especially since they sent massages at 11am from the app to people’s phones reminding them that it’s Tuesday

    • Jared Metheny

I wish I was smart enough to screenshot the codes. I redeemed the VUDU codes at 7am CST and thought I would get around to the other codes later. Hopefully this is resolved today.

    • CB

I did screenshot my movie code but I deleted it. :( REGRETS

    • KenP

In retrospect, t-mobile should have not sent out text messages about T-Mobile Tuesdays so they could test the app with a lighter load. Most people probably didn’t know about it until the text messages, then everyone tried to logon at once.

    • Jose Hernandez

I should have done this as well. Now I can’t get my pizza or the movie tickets. I did the the free VUDU movie, so happy about that one.

    • sorandkairi

I did the exact same thing. I should’ve done for my wife’s phone though.

    • Cellphone Chris

Let us know if this works – Per the fine print, codes are good for a short amount of time from opening them (2 minutes I think).

  • bydavidrosen

    HOW DARE THEY!!!!

Just kidding, I’m sure it’ll get resolved. Knowing T-Mobile they’ll add in more free stuff to make up for the botched launch.

  • Michael Tran

It was to be expected. No worries, I’m sure they will get it resolved. Either way, thanks T-mobile for the free offers. Truly appreciated.

    • Acdc1a

To be expected my ass! You can’t mess up an Uncarrier launch!

      • Ordeith

I guess you were right.. they didn’t spend any money on it.. :)

        • VN

          Troll with sour grapes.

      • vikings football

big launches always seem to cause server connection problems (apple, sling tv, playstation vue, etc…)…YES IT IS EXPECTED bro, its normal LOL

    • PC_Tool

      “It was to be expected.”

Sad commentary on how low our expectations have become…

      • Michael Tran

When something is given away for free that people want, i expect lots of chaos.

        • Jose Hernandez

You got that right! Black Friday Madness in June!!!

      • vikings football

he was just being honest LOL
it was more likely to happen more then not

    • Blkbear

Yup, considering they opened it up to anyone with web access, tmobile customer or not. What kills me is the tap game, tells me I already played. Grrrrrr….

  • jozefd14

Well it was pretty worth it then to stay up till 2 am to get 3 free vudu credit and Warcraft movie tickets lol

  • Ahmad El-Ibrahim

For some reason the application does not even open anything to but a blank for me. I had even cleared data and restarted the app, but still nothing. It was working fine yesterday.

  • Trevnerdio

Yep, missed out on my free stuff this week because the app froze…

  • tshirtguy

I’m getting the “Unfortunately, Messages has stopped.” error message when I ask for the free codes. Do this mean they have reached the limit on free stuff?

  • bumrocky

I snagged the Domino’s code right before the app went down. So lucky me, I guess. But yeah, now it’s down.

  • F4LL0U7

Got my stock and VUDU code, and placed a future dinner order at Dominos earlier this morning when demand was still low. I wanted to sign in again to see if I could gift the Warcraft movie ticket to a friend, but now I can’t get back in.

  • NardVa

It never surprises me how billion dollar companies fail to execute a plan. There are people that get paid lots of money to make sure things like this run smoothly.

    • Penn Adam

You could be describing the Government too.

  • YayMe!

At 7:30AM today, my bf and I redeemed our Warcraft movie tickets. Went to go in and redeem for the Dominos pizza, app seemed to have forgotten or reset itself. We’re happy to have anything free by any regards :) Thanks T-Mobile, now we’ve got a date for Saturday.

    • Terry Steed

      Same happened to me.

    • VN

Thank you John Legere! Thank you T-Mobile!

  • NardVa

Nobody has been able to access the app for the last 3 hours per the respones on Twitter.

  • mikeZo6

First 611 goes down for tons of customers this past sat and sun, now this is down, forget all free stuff please build stronger back haul so when something goes down a strong back up kicks in !

  • MattPortland

The app itself is a hot mess.

  • PC_Tool

Happened to me. App was incredibly slow and simply locked at one point.

    Useless today.

    Maybe next Tuesday…

  • gr8gatzby

App was fine yesterday, but total fail at full launch today.

  • nutmac

Perhaps T-Mobile should offer promo on different day of the week depending on the region?

    • nearvanaman

I was thinking they could release at different times of the day by region but, yeah, would make sense. You could see this coming a mile off.

  • Got my ticket this morning no problem. Can’t get my pizza right now though .

  • Guest

Next tuesday, Un-carrier 11.1: New T-Mobile Tuesday App, better servers and a McDonald burger with a diet drink. Thank You.

  • Is it just me, or do we not all get free pizza? Under My stuff, it says nothing. It’s all 0? I played some game, and didn’t win anything. But I thought that was for the sweepstakes part of the app, not for the free stuff every Tuesday that supposedly all of T-Mobile’s customers were supposed to get.

    • Terry Steed

You’ll get the perks. I had all 4 the 1st time I logged in, got the movie tickets but now everything is back to 0. I’m sure they’ll clear it up.

    • ChristianMcC

It is while supplies last, but ditto to that, attempted at 9am mt, nothing at all…

  • Dylan Gorski

Still not working for me. By a stroke of sheer luck the pizza went through then it disappeared and haven’t been able to get anything since that fleeting moment of hope. Hopefully it’ll get fixed soon.

  • Gadget Sho Ryders MC

maybe some better UAT and Load Testing is in order.

  • JaswinderSinghJammu

FYI: Just picked up BAND 12 off Senter Rd and Tully Rd by Costco. Not great speeds at all but definitely on Band 12. I picked up Band 12 in Hayward last week off Misson Blvd as week.

    • ChristianMcC

What city and state? I’m guessing Texas, but no clue.

    • JaswinderSinghJammu

Sorry too much excitement about band 12 that I forgot to mention San Jose, CA and Hayward, CA

  • hawkstwelve

I’m sorry – I love TMO and it’s great they are doing this in the first place, but they should have expected this. They should have planned for high volume. What do you think is going to happen when you say “You get a free pizza, frosty, movie, and movie tickets just by downloading this app!”? OF COURSE there will be a ton of people all doing it at the same time.

Their responses on twitter aren’t making it much better: “We cannot believe the response we are getting! Hang in there!” “Our customers love to #getthanked! We are working on it!” Again, of course you will get a big response and of course your customers love free stuff. Good God this is embarrassing for them.

    • Jose Hernandez

I agree, they could have handled this way better.

  • Rohan Edmonson

I’m having trouble getting my free share from Loyal3.

    • Mike

      That hasn’t started yet.

      • Jose Hernandez

Yes it has, I was able to get it early this morning before all of this mess got started. Got my account set up, confirmation email and everything.

      • Rohan Edmonson

I was able to sign up. It says it may take two weeks for my stock to arrive. That seems like a really long time.

    • Jose Hernandez

Probably related to this app/server issues.

  • Steven

sad, I didnt see it available on Windows Phone… :(

    • ChristianMcC

      WP is dead.

      • Steven

        You’re dead!!!!
You shut your mouth when you’re talking to me!!!

        • ChristianMcC

You must be a real fun person. Flagged.

        • Steven

Nice edit, quickly done… I am SUPER fun, you don’t even know! I make people jealous with my funsies.

    • lomsha

      It’s not

    • John Petersen

You can go to t-mobiletuesdays.com for the browser-based version if you are using something other than iOS or Android. Except, like the app, it’s not working at the moment due to server issues. Still, nice of them to consider an alternate method for Windows phone users.

    • Guest

      Read the first article.

    • conservative_motorcyclist

      Use http://www.t-mobiletuesdays.com ;)

      I have a L640 with RedStone :)

    • Ordeith

and there’s really no excuse for that anymore. Just shows T-Mobile contracted a backwards company without a proper app development tool chain despite the discrimination it would create against some of their own customers.

      • VN

        What discrimination? LOL 0.o

      • rgeg4w

There’s penty of excuses for that, microsoft itself has given up on the platform, why should others waste their time developing for it? lmao

        • Ordeith

          What time?
There are very good cross platform tool chains available for development. Do it right and you only have one codebase to maintain for three different platforms. If you’re already using them (and you should be) to simplify iOS and Android app development there really is no excuse not to check the Windows box while you’re at it. No time needed, no time wasted. (really, a lot of time saved).

And Microsoft released new builds of Windows 10 Mobile just a few days ago. CoreFoundation was just added to the iOS bridge for Windows 10. The Windows 10 update is being pushed out to the Lumia 640. HP has an incredible new phone coming. These are not the actions of a company that has “given up”.. You probably shouldn’t believe all the propaganda you read.

        • Jose Hernandez

Windows phone only holds like 3% or less of the market. Most app developers have decided to just not support it. At this point, it is kind of expected that Windows phone and BlackBerry are not platforms that are expected to be alive much longer. Not saying that I thinks this should be happening, but I can understand why.

        • Ordeith

Windows phone is a target of cross platform tools. 30%, 3% or 0.3% the effort remains minimal if you are already using the tools to target Android and iOS.

Further, T-Mobile currently sells and supports two Windows Phone handsets. They have customers on the platform and they should have some desire to expend some minimal effort to support them.

  • Robert Bruce Summers

Every time I open the app, I have to enter my phone number and receive a new confirmation code. And their app covers the screen buttons at the bottom, so I can’t even switch to Messaging to get the code. Tried all morning, and nothing worked. Tried now, it says, sorry, try again next week. Definitely needs some system improvements!!!!!!

    • Chris P

Swipe up from bottom off screen, buttons will return after the spinning wheel disappears. Or use notification slider to switch apps.

  • NardVa

App has been down 4 hours and counting.

  • sam

I kept trying and was able to get my code for free pizza, just went a little while ago and picked it up for lunch.

  • Mark Alan

This morNing I was able to get all of the access codes and orDered my movie ticket for Friday and got my $5.50 credit on Vudu. But since then it asked me to re enter my phone number and when I did it lost all of the unused promo codes and shows non prizes. I checked with fandango and my ticket is still there. As is my Vudu credit

    • Devin Serpa

Got farther than me, after selecting VUDU it started erroring. Now when I log in it shows no offers.

      • Steven Yee

I redeem the vudu but I redeem it at 5 am pst

  • NardVa

App has been down 5 hours and counting.

  • John

They should do it all by text.

  • CrankyBear

Got to it before the errors hit, but supplies were already depleted.

  • Jignesh

    Still getting server error

  • Guest

If you love T-Mobile or Domino’s don’t get the pizza. With this high demand whichever is footing the bill will go bankrupt. LOL

    • Ordeith

“while supplies last” is a way of limiting capital expense, while maximizing the amount of suckers that hand over their personal information. Neither company is in danger, they’re both making money off of you.

      • VN

Wow you really need to get out dude. Who stole your dog?

Is it true you still have T-Mobile service? You sound like a pissed off fired employee that stole from the company and want to blame them for your nonsense.

Chill out with a free frosty buddy. I hear Wendy’s is still giving them out without seeing the app. :)

        • Ordeith

It’s sad you’d give John Legere of all people that level of loyalty. Some people are bought off so easily. /SMH

        • VN

I agree. You must have been bought off really easily yourself. Other than being paid why else would someone be here complaining about free stuff when they have T-Mobile? Wait you didn’t answer my other question buddy. Do you have T-Mobile?

        • VN

You dissapoint me with your paranoia fake VN.

  • Bill

Why did they promote this if they can’t plan accordingly? They better compensate. I couldn’t even get my stock.

    • Guest

I want to see how they put the genie back in the bottle. People are not happy with the growing size of the “while supplies last” words.

Hey people: Don’t forget to ask for the organic and vegan pizza at Domino’s and, of course, the diet drink. Mmm, healthy.

  • Daniel Darnell

I get that things happen but its been down for 5 hours now, this is just piss poor planning on T-Mobile’s end and an outage of the system shouldn’t still be ongoing after this long.

  • NardVa

I think T-Mobile shut the promos off for the remainder of the day. They haven’t given any codes out for more than 5 hours, but they keep pushing the promo as if it’s still live. T-Mobile is being a little deceptive.

    • Jose Hernandez

It is probably too many users trying to access the system at the same time, and it may not help that the server is probably old as well. Not sure T-Mobile is doing this on purpose.

  • Leo Hui

I was able to see my code this morning and was planning to get some pizza tonight. Now what do I do?

  • TofuX

A few minutes ago I got my Domino’s pizza code by constantly hitting Redeem button. But when I tried to redeem other items, everything is erased out & shut down again, but luckily I wrote down the code so at least I can have pizza tonight!

  • tshirtguy

    funny…
I keep hitting “resend Code”, I get a message saying the code has been successfully resent as a text to my correct phone number, but I don’t get any texts.
    hmmmm

  • TroubledMind

Error. Login multiple times. No rewards. Error. Sigh.

  • Omar Lozada

I won a movie ticket to warcraft this morning plus all the other things where at my stuff but now everything is gone, it says that I have nothing yet.
    WTF????????

    • Charles

Same thing happened to me! :(

      • charan

        same with me too

  • NardVa

App has been down 6 hours and counting. I really think T-mobile shut the promos down this morning. It doesn’t take a whole work day to resolve server issues.

    • VN

Uh oh, conspiracy theorists with no server or IT experience have finally arrived.

      Hi!

  • Trish

Been trying all day long. I have no server connection issues.. but everytime I log in it says I have nothing available, to check back on Tuesday. They said “don’t worry, you have until 3:59am to redeem”.. yeah, that’s great.. I’ve wasted a good chunk of my day loggin in and trying, it’s not fair to expect us to glue ourselves to this all night long till they figure their stuff out. They should have agreed to extend todays a long time ago so we weren’t all continuing to bog down their servers.

  • NardVa

I’m speculating there were a lmited number of codes and instead of saying all codes have been redeemed they want to give the impression the servers are being slammed. T-Mobile needs to come clean.

  • Chilehead

Maybe it’ll start working if everyone stopped hitting refresh every few seconds ;)

  • Loco Mole

Maybe the should BingeOn the T-Mobile Tuesday data. LOL.

  • Logic and Reason

I redeemed my movie ticket code just a few minutes ago. Still working on my pizza.

  • maria

dang it they took away all the gifts :(
i wonder how the stock will play off since i redeem mine but now is not showing off at the redeem folder

  • Nicholas Trambitas

For me, sometimes the gifts are there, sometimes not, very glitch and slow app

  • Jose Hernandez

The app has not let me log in, however it now has all over the place “While Supplies Last”, first time I see that.

  • David J Delgado

Just saw a T-Mobile response to a person saying they should extend the offer due to the botched launch. The reps response was “it’ll be Tuesday again before you know it.”

So you guys can forget about any sort of “making it up” to whoever didn’t get to partake in today. As of 4:30PM app is still down, and I doubt it’ll be back up any time soon. Seems to me like T-Mo just pulled one of the best bait and switch around. Get people to download the app, enter their info, and then crash it and say “Oops!.”

Also, the addition of “while supplies last” is cute, too. Good work, T-Mobile.

    • guest

      lol wow.
It’s free stuff, if you don’t want it delete the app and carry on with your day.

      • Not free

They already got your data and it’s not free. You pay T-Mobile a monthly bill.

        • Jose Hernandez

unfortunately, yest they do have our data. But, our monthly bill is for cellular service, not for Pizza and other stuff, so this is free. You like it, great. You don’t, that’s ok as well.

        • Ordeith

The pizza and other stuff is paid for somehow.

I’d rather have a lower monthly bill (or increased coverage through network investment)

        • VN

Yes we know you cannot stop hating on this and want a cheaper bill. Go to sprint I heard they have 50% bills. Or maybe you should stop drinking all those frosties. All that sugar has made you repeat yourself for no reason.

Oh now we know why you keep hating on this. All these people will be getting frosties and you’re concerned about your personal supply. #frostystashenvy

  • Chilehead

Maybe they should re-label the app “T-Mobile Next Tuesday”.

  • Nicholas Trambitas

probably next Tuesday, it will crash again

  • NardVa

All the offers have been used up.

  • theboss973

I went to wendys app was not working, i told the guy at the register he said no worries and gave it to me for free lol. Still would like the coupon code for the pizza

    • Nicholas Trambitas

      lucky

    • VN

      Told ya. ;)

Maybe you should tell Ordouche whoch Wendy’s you went to. He looks like he needs to cool off with a cool frosty.

      • theboss973

        lmao

  • I was able to do the stock up, and had started on the movie. I was trying to get in touch with my sister so we could coordinate, and when I went back I had to relogon and now it’s saying come back next Tuesday. It didn’t even show the things I’ve already “redeemed”. Unfortunately I didn’t write the movie code down.

  • Nicholas Trambitas

    Well I didn’t #GetThanked

  • aukicadeso

I clicked Redeem on the Pizza this morning, and got the empty My Stuff most of the day, but finally saw the Pizza code in the Redeemed box this afternoon. I grabbed a screenshot of the code and now the app is back to empty My Stuff. I exited back to the main menu a couple times and My stuff was populated again. No luck on redeeming the other three yet. Definitely hit or miss. Make sure you get your screenshot when you make progress just in case.

  • stuman74

I was able to get into the app last night and this morning no problem. But for the past 5 hours, I just get the “awkward not your fault” server message. Disappointing.

  • Walter

That 50MB+ T-Mobile Tuesdays app is just accessing their website at https://www.t-mobiletuesdays.com/ The site is not working either. T-Mobile’s whole web IT operation is a joke, The main company site, when works, is always slowly limping ahead. It’s the worst performing one out of all sites that I have to use every month. For a tech company, it’s an embarrassment. Un-carrier 12 should just be fixing their websites!

  • NardVa

Tmobile claims there are app issues but the promos are used up.

    • Jose Hernandez

John twitted that they will make good on their promise and that no one will loose their stuff. Here is hoping he keeps his word.

  • dontsh00tmesanta

    Got them at 2am lol

  • nutmac

For what it’s worth John Legere tweeted (https://twitter.com/JohnLegere/status/740287329387053056) the following at 2 pm PDT:

“Still seeing huge #TMobileTuesdays app volume, but we’re making good! You won’t lose anything and we’ll make this right ASAP! #StayTuned”

  • BadBatz

    Two words: “pizza stash.”
Unused pizzas roll over to the next pizza cycle. T-Mobile programmers, get cracking!

  • bradastan

Ha It’s Tuesday and I’m getting the message, “You have no offers, come back on Tuesday.” Uh.. it’s only 2:30 pacific on a Tuesday.

  • Ricky

It’s Tuesday and I’m getting the message, “You have no offers, come back on Tuesday.” Uh.. it’s only 3:40 on a Tuesday.

    • spartanjet

plus the fact I’ve been trying to get to the website since 10am on a Tuesday with no luck. What a horrible promotion launch.

  • KeepU

At first it showed my offers, then it showed the ones I’d actually tried clicking (stock and movie ticket) as deleted. Now it just shows 0 for everything when it loads. *EDIT* Seems to be working now, I was able to redeem everything but the stock (which is hanging up at the “create brokerage account” step on the loyal3 website so probably not an app/t-mobile issue.)

  • Rajib Momen

their app hasn’t worked for me all day

  • RyanC

I redeemed my stuff this morning, only to have it apparently removed this afternoon. I hope it doesn’t take long to correct this.

  • Alex L.

cant get the app to even load. right now its worthless

  • OneManGang

Got a pizza on my # and sons, could not get on wife’s and daughter’s. appreciate the free, just wish the app was not so frustrating. rest of the items have disappeared.

  • Rafael

I been getting also with messages that there’s no offers…but on the hamburger seems like there’s a notification icon thingie once you touch it, nada!

  • S. Ali

This is every Tuesday people, chill. You didn’t have this offer before today, why act like its such a loss today?

    • Acdc1a

Because John Legere ate my free lunch…lol.

      • VN

        Yup, said Ordouche.

    • NardVa

The novelty of getting free stuff the first time is exciting, but it will wear off in about 4 weeks.

  • Joe

I got the vudu rental credited to my account this morning but I didn’t write down the pizza code. I signed up for the free stock option this morning also. So in all I’m just missing the pizza and frosty and warcraft ticket. Don’t even want to see warcraft as that lead guy does bad acting in the Vikings series.

  • Sushimane

Has anyone claim that 1 share of tmobile lol

    • Rick Melaragni

      Trying to figure that out.

      • You have to sign up for the brokerage account through the app to claim your Stock Up gift.

  • Chilehead

The app is working for me now.

  • TofuX

Hey guys I was just able to redeem both the Warcraft movie ticket & Vudu $5.50 movie credit online. You just have to keep refreshing constantly until you get your items in My stuff. Then follow the instructions. I was able to get the pizza code a few hours earlier by just continually refreshing until they gave me the code. So the only thing I didn’t redeem is the frosty, but you need to physically be at Wendy’s b/c it expires in 2 minutes. So bottom line try to be patient & don’t give up…it’s possible to get your freebies today! :)

  • Jason Caprio

The app appears to be working for me now. Just redeemed my free Dominos pizza. I’m curious how overwhelmed Dominos is going to be this evening lol

  • hawkstwelve

App and website working for me now. Got my vudu codes, three warcraft tickets, and free pizza! Mike Seivert tweeted they will also make it right later this week! Maybe another promo period?

  • Ngintipdong

Working awesome now…got pizza and Vudu movie for tonight and free movie ticket for this Saturday. YIPEE..

The Wendies drink, you must do it IN FRONT OF the cashier. It only valid for 2 Minutes !! be aware.

  • TofuX

So just got back from Wendy’s and got a small frosty. When I went to redeem, the app stopped working and said “authorzation denied”. They had no idea about the promotion, but after talking with the manager, they were nice enough to let me have it anyway. So today I managed to get all the freebies today except the stock. I’ve never received so many freebies from any company before…T-Mobile has definitely gained a customer for life!

    • Ordeith

How easily the sheep are bought.
and with their own money, too. ingenious!

      • Chilehead

I’m a pizza eating, frosty drinking, VUDU watching sheep.

        • Ordeith

It must feel great to let T-Mobile to take your money and decide what trinkets you’re going to buy with it.

        • Chilehead

I pay them for a service bonehead. I’ll gladly take free stuff and I appreciate it. Gonna start watching my VUDU movie and eat my pizza now :)

        • Ordeith

and after Uncarrier 11, you pay them for a service AND T-Mobile Tuesdays. Congratulations?

        • Ngintipdong

Pay extra 0 dollar ? you know what is that called ? FREE

        • Ordeith

Maybe if you’re a reject from the Bernie Sanders school of economics.

There is, of course, a cost. So T-Mobile improved their operating efficiency and are able to make more of a profit on their plans. Great, people are overpaying relative to their previous per subscriber margins. So T-Mobile has a choice what to do. They could :1. Lower prices, 2. Invest more in the network to improve that mediocre coverage, 3. Buy the loyalty of the least intelligent of their customers by throwing them a few free trinkets.

Option 3 is my least favorite. At least give us option 1 as well so we can make a choice.

        • RM

Man you hating for real. You sit back and enjoy what vz and att do for you. We cool over here at tmobile.

        • Chilehead

          I think he’s T-Mo prepaid.

        • VN

          Or metro. #nofreepizza

        • VN

He has T-Mobile LOL which makes it even worse.

        • Chilehead

I choose Option #4 – Free stuff on Tuesdays!

        • Ordeith

That’s the same as option 3, you know. Trinket Tuesdays

        • Chilehead

          I’ve never consumed a trinket.

        • Ordeith

apparently you never looked at the definition, either. Thus re-affirming the “least intelligent” clause of option 3.

        • IR

I am not sure who pissed in your cheerios but you are on here, so I would assume you like to argue or you are jealous.

        • Ordeith

I think John Legere did it from the balcony of his multi-million dollar penthouse while laughing at the peons that make his lifestyle possible.
          Damn you, John!

        • Chilehead

Trinket – “a small ornament or item of jewelry that is of little value”. Free VUDU credits, pizza, movie tickets are not “trinkets” by definition since they have value. I’m truly sorry you’re so butthurt over this. With all sincerity you should definitely switch carriers.

        • Ordeith

You missed: Trinket – “anything of trivial value”.
          Their value is trivial.

But congratulations on half knowing how to use a dictionary.

        • IR

I think you are the one that has missed the boat on economics, this is free advertisement on twitter, Facebook and everyone seeing their friends get free stuff. Not to mention the free stock that is up 20% this year. You even get more stock when your friends and family join. So yes that is really solid economics and clear forward thinking.

        • Ordeith

the people that “missed the boat” on economics are the ones that believe anything is actually free.

        • Moby

You do have a choice. Take your business to AT&T, Verizon or Sprint if you don’t like what they’re doing.

        • Ngintipdong

Me2…ignore those jealous people from Verizon, Sprint and all other carriers. They got rip off and no single penny back !!! That’s why there’re so bad mood.

We’re part of T-Mobile Un-Carrier family…we won’t stop enjoying Tuesday and become part of T-mobile ownership (stock).

        • Ordeith

It’d be nice if T-Mobile offered discounted plans for those of us that don’t want to pay for their embarrassing “freebie” promotions.

        • T-Mobile’s plans are already discounted and include a slew of stuff that other carriers can’t even match. For example, you can still get unlimited data, without praying that you can hold onto the feature or without signing up for satellite TV.

        • IR

Why not just enjoy it? Other companies only give you “gimmick” rewards. Something is better than nothing, were you not raised that way?

        • Ordeith

Giving me back my money to spend how I like rather than letting T-Mobile spend it for me on stuff I might not like in some vain attempt to buy loyalty is best.
Were you not raised that way?

        • Moby

Why don’t you take your business elsewhere if you think T-Mobile is giving you a bad deal. Port away your number today.

        • Moby

          T-Mobile’s plans are discounted.

        • Guest

They’re not good at math and logic. And with all the junk they’re putting into their bodies it’s not gonna get any better. So instead of trying to educate them, just remind them they need the diet drink.

        • VN

Replying to yourself with a guest account? LOL

        • Moby

T-Mobile already takes my money for cell phone service. So this is freebies on top of that.

      • Moby

They are giving me more for my money. Giving the customer more is always a great way to earn more business.

    • VN

Thank you John Legere! Thank you T-Mobile!

  • Jose Hernandez

They fixed it!, I just redeemed my pizza and placed my order.

    • I got mine! Just in time for dinner. I was going to wait for dinner regardless.

  • Sakatoki

I can’t seem to log in to the app, I have a prepaid monthly plan but still says that I’m either ineligible or my account needs to be updated, which is vague; update what?

    • RM

      Prepay plans don’t qualify

      • GreenMonkeyPants

YES they do, read the fine print.

“T‑Mobile Tuesdays is available to all customers on a T‑Mobile branded
monthly rate plan, including consumer and business, postpaid and prepaid
        plans. Every line can participate.”

    • Prepaid plans do not qualify unless you have data included.

    • Sakatoki

      Well, fuck.

  • The app works fine now. Go get your free stuff.

  • Alex Pilaia

Just got my free pizza and it tastes better then when I had to pay for it.. Thanks T-Mobile #DinnerSolved

    • Ordeith

You did pay for it. T-Mobile can’t buy it for you without using your money.

I’d rather have the lower bill so I can choose to spend my money on better food.

      • ngintipdong

How ? Show me the math, not ur believe.

        • Ordeith

It will be on T-Mobile’s 10k filing with the SEC at the close of their current FY. Feel free to peruse.

        • Ringo

These are branded items. The companies providing the freebies are paying for it. In addition, the stock up is free cash going to T-Mobile and to you. Ultimately, the person who buys the shares is funding the whole thing.

This is also, way more efficient marketing than blasting us with TV ads. The dollars are more efficiently spent on actually getting customers in the door. This is marketing genius!

        • Ordeith

The “street value” of the items is far more than ad buys. The “while supplies last” BS is their only real saving clause there.

I’m sure that T-Mobile isn’t paying MSRP, but they sure as hell aren’t getting them free* either. Their crappy customer data just isn’t worth that much.

*Of course this also means the customer has to be comfortable with T-Mobile selling their information to subsidize this activity. I am decidedly not ok with that.

There’s also the administrative overhead, the cost of the app development, T-Mobile’s own cost of marketing, the cost of their embarrassing failure on launch day, and a whole bunch of overhead to consider.

I think declaring “Uncarrier 11” to be something like “All plan prices now have taxes and fees included, no more surcharges” would have been more in the spirit of “Uncarrier” (removing pain points) and better serve the customers.

        • Chilehead

Breaking news troll. You’re not stuck with T-Mobile. Do us all a favor and run from them as fast as you can. I’m sure you’ll save money AND avoid those “trinkets” lol

        • VN

          Lol yea well said.

        • Ordouche

I rather have a lower bill because I’m cheap even though basement rent is $0.

        • Brian Maher

Hogwash…all of it. Been w/ T-Mo 16 years (remember OmniPoint?) The app works as advertised, we’re all getting more stuff for the same monthly payment. We ALL win… (except you. You lose because of your idiotic ramblings.)

        • Chilehead

You liked your own post??? I think your departure from T-Mobile is long overdue.

        • Ordeith

Of course. that post was of the chain. :)

Does the rest of T-Mobile care so much about Customer retention?

        • Chilehead

Clearly T-Mobile cares about retention or they would only be offering incentives to new subscribers. Please enlighten me on what AT&T and Verizon are doing to retain customers? Pick your poison and move on.

        • TheOne

To be fair…..each Verizon retail employee has access to customer possible retention offers.

        • Chilehead

Fair enough but rather vague. I’m sure they all have a bag of tricks for “valued” customers.

        • GreenMonkeyPants

To be fair…you need to be so fed up with Verizon’s cr@p that you have to threaten to jump ship before they even think about any retention offerings.

        • Moby

There’s no cash going to T-Mobile as you claim. They are reducing the value of the other shares by issuing shares to their subscribers.

        • Ngintipdong

Ringo, You hit the point . It’s marketing genius , but dumb and dumber like Ordeith already blind sided like deer facing headlight….he cannot see beyond the light…short sighted.

        • Homero Garza

          Tell us

      • Moby

I pay the same each month. Now I get more for my money.

      • Acdc1a

        T-Mobile isn’t buying pizzas…you are uninformed.

  • Joe

You can load multiple vudu codes on one account by the way. I have two phones and loaded them both for $11 credit. If I had one more phone, I could basically buy a movie off vudu every week.

    • Joe

Has anyone tried adding two dominos pizza’s on the same order using two codes? I was thinking of bringing home two pizza’s tomorrow for my family.. not sure if both codes will work on the same order.

      • Enrique Escobar

just place 2 separate orders (from 2 different phones tho), that’s what i did

        • Nick

I placed 2 separate orders on the same phone and it worked. As long as you have different codes they will do it with no problem.

    • Dm

Wouldn’t let me. Said i reached my maximum code redemption.

      • Chilehead

It worked for me as well with three lines. I encountered a similar error but when I checked my VUDU account credit I received all three redemptions. Bought a movie with it. I hope this isn’t a glitch.

  • TroubledMind

got the pizza luckily but everything disappeared out of my stuff so I can’t get access to any of the other free stuff.

  • Guest

    Un-carrier 12:

Pay your bill at the store (walk a little) and get a free blood pressure test and a free glucose test. Every month. Free! No overwei… overages!

    • VN

      Un-carrier 13:

      Obliterate all trolls.

      • Chilehead

lol – Our “Troll of the day” was mad but I doubt he’ll leave T-Mobile.

      • Guest

        Says the number one troll.

  • FILA

Finally got the app to work, went to Wendys for my free frosty, and had workers at Wendys wondering about this, and asking if its only for T-Mobile customers, proud to say yes, that got the convo started a little more. Of course these promos are to boost customers and it will work. Typing this as I eat my Frosty

    • tony

get them to t mobile and get mroe t mobile stocks.

  • jtabaco

    still not working!…

    • John

      Awww, that’s so sad. :(

    • Chilehead

Ignore the trolls. Message @TMobile on Twitter with your issue.

  • Moby

Just picked up my free pizza—thanks T-Mobile!

  • Dark Ages

Vudu deal sucks. Does not feel free if I have to enter a credit card. I feel TMobile abused me and wasted my time as I would not enter my credit card. They should be upfront on requirements so long term customers are not alienated by “free” offers.

    • Chilehead

      That’s a VUDU prerequisite.

    • Mike Thaler

I would be afraid to enter a credit card number. Besides, for political reasons, don’t support Walmart.

      • Iamnumber6

Then I suppose don’t use it then. Nothing lost.

    • Enrique Escobar

i mean that is not a T-Mobile requirement and as long as the movie you’re renting/buying does not exceeds $5.50 you will not be charged a penny and since you refuse to enter you CC number you can always use a gift card, even if it only has $1.00 should be good or get a prepaid debit card, after just two free movie rentals (2 weeks) you should already have your money’s worth from what you pay for the prepaid card.

  • Stev3n

my dominos too promo code keep failing online and in dominos store. I tried to order online for “carry out” and received a message (invalid code….) Went to a dominos store, and cashier responded “the code is not valid, is too long”…. So i called T-mobile, Tmobile gladly reseted my code and issued me a new 3 times. All 3 codes were all invalid online and in store. Did anyone else experience the same or similar issue?

    • Mindstream98

Same here..on phone with T-Mobile now.

  • Johnnola504

    Just got….
    – 1 share T-Mobile stock
    – 1 Medium 2 topping Domino’s pizza
    – 1 Frosty
    Thanks T-Mobile !

    • Chilehead

Exactly. Get ready for the trolls though! lol

    • Johnnola504

If you have a family plan like me, each line gets the free stuff!!

  • lomsha

Tempted to get the free pizza but too lazy to drive there, ugh. Lol

    • Guest

      Un-carrier 16: Free Uber-Van-with-wheelchair ride.

      • lomsha

        Lol

        • VN

          Thanks I’m pretty funny.

        • Guest

          No, you’re not.

        • VN

Yes I am. Please keep quiet and come up with your own un-carrier 16.

        • Guest

          You’re unoriginal and boring.

  • When Google Hangouts got calling and SMS, I dumped my voice plan for Tmo’s cheapest data plan. So for $20/mo, I’m getting unlimited data (2GB LTE), dinner, dessert, movie, and a share of stock worth double my monthly bill.

Finally…customers get to screw the phone company instead of the other way around!

  • Eric Harlow

Thanks Tmobile Tech Gurus for getting the Tmobile Tuesdays app back up and working

  • Thanks #TMobile. I just cahsed in my Promo code for a FREE MOVI E #Warcraft! WooHoo! Also I got my Free #VuDu movie! I don’t want any pizza or Frosty atm…LOL #TMobile #Tuesdays

    • tony

those wendy’s frosties tho can give some serious diabetes

  • Chris Danielson

I tried to put in my free movie codes on all 3 of my lines for the WARCRAFT tickets and found they were expired already? App is down most of the day and they don’t extend the expiration date? #TMobile. That sucks

    • Ngintipdong

Every gift is unique. You’ve to read the each of them carefully.

In general, the gift must be the claim on the Tuesday itself.

You can pick/enjoy it later though:
      – Pizza (order on Tuesday, you can pick up on “LATER date”).
      – Movie (book on Tuesday, you can see on Friday, Saturday, Sunday this week)
      – Wendys (you have open in front of cashier since only valid for 2 minutes).
      – Vudu (claim on Tuesday, expired on 6/13).
      .
Don’t worry, we have some gift next Tuesday :)

  • T-MobGuy

So we got be up at 1am to get all the free sh*t before the server crashes?

    • ConceptVBS

No, its up and ready to go. The first day was sluggish due to demand. But now its all fixed up.

  • Grandy

Got my free pizza. Logged in online to get the free Frosty, but it gave me a 2 minute countdown timer and some verbiage. Is that all that is needed? Bring that screen with me to a local Wendy? It shows on the app that I have already redeemed it, which I’ve not.

    • Homero Garza

It told you not to click until you’re at the cashier, your 2 minutes are up

    • ConceptVBS

Read the instructions people. More than ever when stuff is free.

    • Ngintipdong

Take screen shot…press middle button and power button for same time…hold for 5 seconds until you see the screen blink. Go to your picture folder…show that to cashier.

    • NardVa

You have to wait until you get to the register to hit the redeem button for the frosty. You only get 2 minutes to show the cashier the free frosty coupon. They have a special button on the register that rings up a free frosty.

  • wsj

I just want free share of stock

  • OneManGang

I have 4 lines, got 4 pizzas, 3 frosties, 3 movie tickets, 1 video rental and 1 share of stock.
And this is supposed to be every week, minus the movie tickets and stock. What is there to complain about, over $100 in give aways and no money out of my pocket.

    • John

You’re paying with your health (fast food) and your time (many hours yesterday and some more watching that movie) plus the extra expenses. The movie rental and the share could be okay.

      • The pizza is fine if two slices are eaten per meal. A medium pizza gives four meals, each taking as little as one-fourth (varies per person) of daily food intake. A small Frosty is about one-fifth, but it’s a weekly treat and a loss leader. The time issue should get solved as this neat program evolves.

    • tony

watch out for those frosties they might give you diabetes.

  • Homero Garza

    I got 4 pizzas thanks

  • Homero Garza

    My fandango cost me 25¢

    • tony

      LOL!

  • VernonDozier

Well, I tried to use the app on Monday; shortly before midnight. I got logged-in, received the security text message. I had to wait 4 hours; (deals must be based on Hawaii Timezone.) Tuesday, it simply didn’t work. There was no way to redeem the movie rental. It has expired.

At first, I thought it was a network issue- the same result happens frequently when on T-Mobile’s T-Mobile service doesn’t work. I just accepted the facts.

When I did get the app to work, (around 8pm) I ordered a medium-sized, pan pepperoni pizza. ONE topping. (Supposed to be “Free”, right..?) Well, because it was a Pan Pizza selection, it wasn’t free. Had to re-start my order. Went to pick it up, and while waiting in line, I realized the maps in Domino’s app didn’t work correctly. It placed an order at a different location 25 minutes away from the location near me.

I explained the issue at Domino’s they said because it’s free, I don’t have any options but to drive 25 minutes away to pickup a cold pizza, or perhaps tweet John Legere and get another coupon code. Nah. Not worth my time.

When I got home I opened the freezer and cooked Stuffed Potatoes from Omaha Steaks, and a nice bacon-wrapped fillet Mignon (From Costco) on the grill instead. It was a nice day outside to fire up the bbq.

Overall, being “Thanked” is pretty jacked up. Still, it’s absolutely amazing that a company like T-Mobile had a meeting, where executives said “Hey, let’s create the App equivalent of customers filling their carts with product at the local Walmart store, and… We’ll pay the bill if they jump through enough hoops.” People in that meeting agreed to do it. With a budget of 4 or 5 marketing managers, and 10 app contractors, they worked to ensure it had plenty of technical challenges for regular people. Caveat emptor– even free stuff is similar to the way T-Mobile approaches it’s core product of phone service.

Because T-Mobile’s marketing department is subsidizing all this crap, it gives customers like me a great opportunity to explain how Terrible T-Mobile’s Tuesday works. Sure, there are people who may actually need 8 to 10 free pizzas, and a gallon of pepsi. I don’t fit that demographic nor do I want anyone in my family to suffer from diabetes.

T-Mobile should just stick to intentionally selling unreliable service which drops phone calls. The freebies are there to distract you from the “experience” of T-Mobile’s service.

If T-Mobile has full-time people working on shtick like this, I can’t wait to see what additional ideas the marketing interns suggest over the summer.

    • ConceptVBS

Sorry but the deals didnt start until Tuesday. You’ve dug yourself your own grave. I’ve gotten all the free stuff that they’ve offered. Yes, it was sluggish at first (this was expected) but a couple hours later, T-Mobile addressed the issue and all the stuff was available to redeem.

It’s one thing to blame T-Mobile but something else if you couldnt be patient enough.

      • VernonDozier

Yes; being patient is always necessary with T-Mobile.
You have to be patient when the customer service rep is researching billing problems.
You have to be patient when the data speed isn’t as advertised,
You have to be patient when they say there “will” be service there in 6 months (usually 2 years later)

And now, the official response (on Twitter) to poor quality apps and rushed QA testing is along the lines of ‘paying customers aren’t patient enough.’ Hah!

Try being patient when paying any bill. Then, you’ll know how the company values your patience.

        • Manny

In correct. I haven’t had to be patient at all. But thats just my experience.

    • Ngintipdong

Domino pizza Apps screw you up. To be fair, you need to blame them, not T-Mobile.

Don’t worry, we will have another pizza next Tuesday. Use your laptop this time to order it.

    • Manny

Sorry buddy, but you had a abd experience… T-Mobile’s App worked flawlessly for me. I got all my free products. Literally ordered the pizza, walked into Domino’s walked out with the pizza. End of story and it had toppings. Nothing was extra. Got my free movie ticket to see Warcraft, worked flawlessly through Fandango, and even covered the service charge.

Not worth your time to tweet for a free code? It literally took me all but 2 minutes on facebook to get my app to work properly, and I did this while playing League of Legends…

Your comment is annoying to read, and not trying to fight with you, because you peppered your “I had a bad experience” with a bunch of unneeded facts. You don’t want free pizza cause you aren’t in that demographic… You sir are a troll, and the only reason I am leaving this comment is so that if someone by chance reads your horrible story and it’s unnecessary bull crap fluff to make you seem smart… they might see mine? Which may sound haughty and also filled with fluff. But I figure a positive and negative balance the scales.

TMobile Tuesdays worked. I loved it. Can’t wait to see what free stuff I get next week. I’m entering the theater now to see my free movie. Oh and I own a free stock in a company for being a customer. I guess it’s been a good week,

  • Homero Garza

People say its a psyop. Get America fat so they can’t rebel. Everyone is on t-mobile so they can be recorded. And dominos is funded with free government cheese. I’ll be a good citizen.

    • VernonDozier

      LOL!

  • Got my Frosty yesterday before everything went down (10am Eastern). Got my pizza set up for pickup today and got my share of stock. I got all three things I wanted and I am happy. I have 6 lines, but I don’t need six Frostys or pizzas.

    • Jeremiah

      Can i have some

  • No thanks

I was not able to redeem any of the offers other than the stock offer. App was down for the Pizza, and the people at Wendy’s looked at me like I had three heads when I showed them the free frosty page in the app.

    • Ngintipdong

they will get used to use…we will get another one next Tuesday.

The cashier at the Wendy’s I went to was confused. I explained to the cashier the Tmobile promo and she rang up a free frosty. I guess Tmobile didn’t coordinate with Wendy’s from top to bottom.

They under estimated the demand? When the word free is thrown out there, and when you read that you don’t even actually have to be a T-Mobile customer to qualify for some of the “prizes”, you can bet that whatever you “expected” was going to be far more than 20 times the load on the servers.

At least they are making an effort to the actual customer (so they imply anyway).
