T-Mobile Android and Windows-flavored HTC One M8 available with $50 discount

htconem8rear

On Black Friday, T-Mobile cut the price of its Windows Phone HTC One M8 down to $537.60. Discounting it by $48, and offering a free Xbox DotView case. Now, the deal is even sweeter.

Des Smith, the company’s well-known product guru, announced on Twitter that T-Mo is now offering both the HTC One M8 and One M8 for Windows with $50 discount. That takes the price down to $535.44 full retail, which works out at $22.31 per month over 24 months on EIP, with $0 down payment for well-qualified buyers.

The offer is only available for a limited time, and you can take advantage by heading on over to the HTC One M8 product page, or the One M8 for Windows page. Let us know if you plan on picking one up, or if your holiday shopping is already done.

still the nicest phone on the market.

Too close to the next version coming out…My M7 will last a few more months…I’ll wait.

    • neospade44

My M7 has been slowing down a lot lately, and have to restart it everyday to be able to make calls. How’s yours holding up?

      • CalicoKJ

Not quite as fast as the day I bought it, but no major complaints. I reboot it once a week or so. It’s the first phone I’ve had over a year where I didn’t want to turn it into a Frisbee or clay pigeon :)

  • besweeet

Just wish it had band 2 LTE.

    • Ryan

Dumb question……..Is band 2 and wideband LTE the same thing? (sorry, i’ll be “that guy” lol )

      • besweeet

No. “Band 2 LTE” is just referring to the frequency. “Wideband LTE” refers to the width of the LTE channels that are at least 15×15 (30MHz) or 20×20 (40MHz).

        • Ryan

Thanks :) Loving the Wideband LTE here in Idaho. My dn/up speed has doubled.

    • Alex Zapata

      This ^

I’m in Chicagoland where band 12 is a non starter and I’m fairly certain I’ve seen some band 2 LTE pop but, but I’ll have to drive around and see what I can find. That’s the only reason I’m keeping my 925.

  • Ryan

Looking to ditch my 925 for this.

    • Whiskers

Don’t do it if you need wifi calling , the M8 for windows does’nt have it and T-Mobile won’t release it until sometime in 2015.
I’m about to send my M8 for windows back and keep my 925 .

      • Ryan

I honestly don’t have a need for it and have had issues with wifi calling in general in the past so it’s not a deal breaker for me.

  • Steven Bloomfield

Just ordered one 2 days ago. On hold with T-Mobile right now to get that $50 difference refunded.

    • Yardie D

Just ordered mine 2 days ago too….. how did it work out with customer service?

      • Steven Bloomfield

After a while on hold I was told that technically they don’t have a price guarantee but in this one case they would make an exception. They credited my next bill with the difference.

        • Yardie D

After a short hold they said they couldn’t do anything for me since it’s an online promo only. I guess I have to go through the customer service agent roulette to see if I can get one to do the credit to my bill instead of cancelling the order & reordering at the new price, as this agent suggested.

        • Paul Hawthorne

Same thing for me. I’ve been with TMO for just over 2 weeks. The agent told me that normally they don’t do rain checks for price matching, but that she could give me a $50 bill credit (same thing right?). She went into the system and applied the credit right away. I logged into my TMO account and BAM, the credit was there. Quite pleased with TMO so far.

  • Whiskers

I’VE had the HTC M8 for Windows for 8 days now and it’s a nice phone EXCEPT it does’nt have WIFI CALLING.
You are screwed if you are in areas that wifi calling is needed because your only option is no service.
Called T-Mobile about this and they stated they would push a release for it SOMETIME in early 2015.
    Really T-Mobile , WTF !
HTC says it’s in the phone but it’s up to T-Mobile to push an update and fix it , and we all know how fast T-Mobile does updates for windows phones…..

    • Goat

I’m sure it’ll be pretty soon, this is something they would need to do in order to say “Wifi calling is available for ALL phones”

      • VG

Fine print: I believe Legere said all phones SOLD IN STORES will have Wi-Fi Calling. Since the M8 with Windows isn’t sold in T-Mobile stores, then …

        • notyourbusiness

          That really doesn’t make sense.

        • VG

The M8 for Windows is only available for sale on the T-Mobile web site for online ordering; it is not available in actual T-Mobile brick-and-mortar stores. Hence, if it isn’t sold in T-Mobile stores, then it doesn’t have to have Wi-Fi Calling because Legere said “all phones sold in T-Mobile stores will have Wi-Fi Calling baked in.”

    • notyourbusiness

That is odd. I wonder why the M8 for Windows lacks Wi-Fi Calling. Have it on my Lumia 925 and it works like a charm again since the official Cyan update was released.

      • Whiskers

HTC stated WIFI calling is on the phone but it’s a T-Mobile app and they have to push out if they want that phone to have wifi calling on the carrier waves .
I still have my 925 and have’nt sent it off for the jump to be completed.
I’m on the fence at the moment as to keep the M8 for windows of send it back and stay a while longer on my 925 until something else grabs my attention.
I will say my 925 does everything flawlessly as the M8 does , it just don’t have the 1080 5″ screen .
But i will state the 925’s camera blows the M8’s to pieces , so it’s a small trade off depending on what’s more important , slightly better specs or better camera and wifi calling. for those no service areas .

    • Ordeith

Those days when you wish you were on a carrier with coverage..

    • tomarone

you can use Skype but they charge. I don’t know how much.

    • Justin Smith

It also doesn’t support 1900Mhz band 4 which is what most of the latest tmo network is

  • james

Looks great but still think android is way to go had 925 i now have g3 wish htc made bigger phone good luck windows user it runs nice. Why cant T-Mobile get a phablet for Windows

  • Bilesha Welton

Time to upgrade to a new Windows Phone ;) <3

    • william43

Its a great phone, you will enjoy it.

  • Ordeith

Does it still include the case?
Because $48 off with a free dot view case is sweeter than $50 off with no case.

  • jt

Tempting. Looking to ditch my Lumia 920 but kind of want to wait for the Mclaren.

    • Ryan

McLaren is dead. MS announced that a few months ago.
