Samsung Galaxy Note III To Release With Android 4.3? Say It’s True

note-iii-dlna-4.3-confirm1

If there is one thing I love most to hear out of a potential Android launch, it’s that the model in question will come with the latest version of the OS. According to a DLNA certification for the Galaxy Note III, that’s exactly what will get with Android 4.3 and the Galaxy Note II successor. There are still plenty of questions surrounding the Note III, but we’re positive we’ll find our answers at the Unpacked event at IFA next month.

Still, in the interim we can count on the rumor mill telling us to look forward to a 5.7″ display, quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, 13 megapixel camera with OIS, LTE-advanced capability. The Note III is going under the model number SM-N900 according to the Digital Living Network Alliance website.

Could we see two giant Android devices launch on T-Mobile with a few months of each other? We’ll know the answer to the Galaxy Note III mystery on September 4th.

Big Deal… My Nexus 4 already has 4.3. I got it a couple of weeks ago….

    • LeeArtis

Real Deal….the Note 3 has specs that will flush the Nexus back down the toilet.

      • Luis Espinal

I agree, I LOVE my N4, but the Note3 looks like it’ll blow it out the park, hands down!

        • Dakota

I’m still using a GNex but Google is going to have to finally add LTE

      • Nate332

fu, the Nexus 5 will come out soon (November) posssibly with Key Lime Pie

        • LeeArtis

Sorry silly rabbit, tricks are for kids. I tend to root my phone, so when you start jumping for joy over your n5 with klp, I will laugh and give you a figurative pimp slap with my gn3 with klp, tailored to my liking.

        • Dakota

Sick of people constantly talking about how great their phones are after rooting. Most people don’t don’t that & you shouldn’t have to do that ton have a great user experience. You make the point why so many people don’t want to be bothered with Androids

        • Trevnerdio

You get a great user experience either way. You get a *better* user experience when it’s totally custom-tailored to your liking.

        • LeeArtis

Uh, the last I checked, Android is about choice. The real point is whether or not the OEMs and/or the carriers are in collusion about creating fragmentation by releasing different models of the same phone with slightly better specs and different versions of Android. Now put that in your pipe and smoke it.

        • TmoSamsungMan

Sounds like your sick of life in general lol.

        • Troy Lovett

Yeah, so many people, “Don’t want to be bothered with Android.” that it is the best selling OS on the planet. Most people don’t want to root their phones, and most don’t. Most people also don’t care if their phone has the latest OS on it or not either. But with Android, you can do it any way you like it. You can find one you like and leave it alone, or you can find one with specs you like, root it, and customize the crap out of it. Which is why it’s the most popular OS on the planet.

    • Richard Yarrell

Big deal your Nexus 4 still isn’t better than the S4. And won’t touch the Note 3. Matter of fact the current Note 2 makes your Nexus 4 pretty useless.

      • squiddy20

Go ahead and tell us all exactly how a Nexus 4 is “pretty useless”. You can do virtually everything that you can do on any other smartphone, even the iPhone. Stupid fanboy.

      • Trevnerdio

They’re not even in the same category…

    • Eugene

The bigger point is that a huge selling point of Nexus devices is the timely updates are straight from google. The problem with all other phones is that if they are not sold with the latest android OS then it takes a while for them to get the update.

      • Dakota

Not even always with the latest version. Even Google Moto x didn’t launch with 4.3..why were so many stuck on Gingerbread? They were stuck in 2 year contracts with phones that never got updated despite numerous new versions. Android manufacturer and carriers have no incentive to update : they rather force you into buying a new phone. Android has just become a free for all and Google has very little control. Users can’t even knowwhat AAndroid really is because it looks different on every device and new users don’t know which features are device/skin specific

    • Dakota

Apples and oranges.. Plus that phone is a year old and doesn’t have LTE. It’s a news headline because of Android fragmentation and the delay in updates. I will only get another Nexus if it’s good deal; otherwise I’m moving to iPhone

    • vinnyjr

The Nexus has 4.3 but it also has nothing else. Google ruined that phone by giving shit for int storage. That alone kept me from buying it. I want and need internal storage.

  • bruce

    price yet?

  • Noor Mahmoud

I’m already trying to sell my Note 2 to get ready to get this phone.

    • Richard Yarrell

You don’t have to sell it. Trade it back into Tmobile they will be glad to take it towards the Galaxy Note 3. That’s exactly what I will be doing.

      • Noor Mahmoud

Then I’d get $265, versus a lot more if I simply sell it.

      • Eugene

I agree with Noor. I think the trade in is only good for people who don’t have time to sell it on their own. I haven’t really checked the prices of Note 2, but I know the S3 still sells on Ebay for around 300.

        • Troy Lovett

Would it change your opinion to learn that Richard has been offered a free tube of K-Y jelly with his trade in along with some light cuddling afterwards?

      • squiddy20

        You obviously have no clue.

        • Garo.j

          He is a clueless fool.!!!

        • Richard Yarrell

Ya sure the JOKE is definitely on you. Tmobile will be taking my Note 2 happily toward the price of the Note 3 on launch day.

        • squiddy20

Sure, T-Mobile will indeed take your “pimp slapping” Note 2, but you obviously missed the point. The point was that you could get more for it if you sold it on eBay, Swappa, Craigslist, or probably even Amazon, than if you took it into a T-Mobile store (or any carrier for that matter) and would get only a max of about $250. Joke’s on you moron.

        • Richard Yarrell

Good old trolling Sprint boy back up on the tmo news page. I know it must be some pretty sad times with that crappy Galaxy Nexus. It’s always the sad life you have decided to live.

        • squiddy20

Says the guy who states such utter and complete crap as this: http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-unpacked-event-scheduled-september-4#comment-697253 and then later on in the comments, states that “Life is about living and buying all the things your heart desires.” What a delusional old fool.

  • Richard Yarrell

Definitely a day one purchase for me

    • Garo.j

All the note 3 is a copy of the recently anounced LG G2 .the G2 is clearly a better
      Device.

      • kev2684

        link or it didn’t happen.

      • Eugene

But the Note 3 wasn’t even announced yet…

      • JBLmobileG1

While I admit the LG G2 sounds like an Awesome device with possible similar specs to what the Note 3 is expected to have, I have a feeling the Note 3 will take the cake. An extra GB of possible ram is a plus not to mention that it will more than likely have both a removable battery and SD card slot. Something that the LG G2 will be missing. Those two features alone already make the Note 3 a better device IMO.

      • TechHog

        A copy? What? I don’t even

      • TmoSamsungMan

        What an idiot.

    • Garo.j

When google and LG anounce the release of the
Nexus5 with key limes pie in
      November your
Brandnew note3 will sudenly have outdated software in 4.3.1. Lol.

      • Jose Hernandez

So will be the LG G2.

      • Richard Finzel

Lg already said NO MORE NEXUS…..

      • Troy Lovett

You may want to sit down. I have some very sobering news for you. There are many, many people (quite probably even the vast majority of phone users) who could give a frog’s fat ass if their phone has Android v.4.3.0 or v.4.3.1 on it. Only people who comb techie sites like this even pretend to care about such trivial tripe.

        • http://tmonews.com David

          God I love this comment.

        • Troy Lovett

Thanks, David! Don’t get me wrong, I am one of those people. I just recognize that most people are more concerned with what color the phone is than ANY specs, much less the OS version. It just drives me nuts when I read things like this guy talking about how “outdated” your phone will be with v.4.3.1 etc… Hell, there are plenty of people walking around with Motorola RAZRs that are perfectly happy with them. I have worked in sales for 2 of the, “Big 4″ phone companies, and I can assure you that I could count on one hand (in a mitten) the number of times anyone has EVER asked me what version the OS on any phone is. All most folks want to know is, “Can I get a phone without paying anything today?” And if the answer is yes, then they tell you where to send it. They couldn’t care less about anything else. When I read through these comments, one would think that, “Joe Customer” is pouring over spreadsheets and graphs comparing stats, processors, screen resolution, etc… but that’s just not the case. Now as I said, I like this stuff too (i cringe every time I sell an iPhone), but I do try to keep it in perspective and not pretend that the next step in human evolution is hinging on how many cores Samsung’s next phone offering has in it.

    • TmoSamsungMan

Hey richie long time no see here!

      • Richard Yarrell

Yup still around you can count on that. Plus my favorite T-Mobile store will be seeing me day one of Note 3 day…

  • nerdlust

Im looking forward to the note3 release but im still very happy with my note2. The note3 will have to blow my socks off for me to upgrade now. Otherwise I might wait for the note4.

    • Chris

Just got the 2013 Nexus 7 and I think it’ll hold me over so I can wait for the Note 4. The Note 2 is the first android phone I’ve had that I’ve said “this is good enough.”

  • Angel

I have the note 2 and I bought my girlfriend the nexus 4 both devices are great but the nexus 4 blows my phone away when it comes to usability smoothness, and overall experience of course this is all out of the box but once my phone is hacked and rooted then the note 2 really shines with over clocked cpu and ext2 file system as opposed to ext4 with a better camera being the biggest advantage and obviously screen size the note 2 wins but it took a lot of work and I think that’ll also separate the g2 from the note 3 the Samsung ui stuff simply slows down these cpu’s greatly the g2 out of the box will be snappier and quicker to load simple apps while being even on the larger more resource hogging applications but we can’t forget what happened to the old g2 it was a powerhouse that was deemed useless because of all the manufacturing problems like over heating rebooting and all the software issues so my advice would be get a note 3 and hack it one the devs familiarize themselves with the phone

    • TechHog

      If you’re going to make comments this long, could you please use periods so that I don’t get a headache trying to guess where sentences end as I read? I know that it’s the internet, but you have to draw the line somewhere. >_>;

  • Dakota

So when does 5.0 launch & how long after will it receive that… That’s the bigger question…. Assuming 5.0 will have some real changes

  • g2a5b0e

Samsung trailblazing again. The Note 2 was also the first non-Nexus device to debut with 4.1.

    • Garo.j

The real trailblazer will be the nexus5 with key limes pies when google and”LG”
      Release N5 in November.

      • g2a5b0e

Cool story, bro. Go troll someone who gives a sh*t.

        • Garo.j

But its okay when your trolling.

        • http://dualshockers.com Joel Taveras

          Trollception.

        • Garo.j

          Another troll.?

        • TmoSamsungMan

          No only you buddy.

        • g2a5b0e

Please point out where I trolled…yeah, good luck with that.

        • TmoSamsungMan

A normal fan and regular poster isn’t a troll only an unknown uninformed loud dipshhht like you really is!

    • mikey

samsung blazes nothing lol. If anything you should be asking samsung why they already have 4.3 for the note 3 and not the previous versions. Obviously the base software has been available for alittle while now. They just want your money. Its cool tho JUMP for it. lol.

      • g2a5b0e

You don’t have to agree. I really couldn’t care less, but if you’re gonna leverage that claim against Samsung, then I suppose you have to say the same thing, but even worse for every other manufacturer since they will update their flagships well after Samsung has.

        • Eugene

          Or ever…coughHTCcough

        • g2a5b0e

          BINGO!

        • TmoSamsungMan

lol, should I start getting into people’s heads? You know how pissed I can get people.

      • jchocolate99

They don’t have it for the previous versions because that makes no business since when you’re trying to release and sell a new phone… It’s a business people so yes they do want your money

    • Richard Yarrell

Don’t worry about what any of these guys say here. Samsung has done well enough of these last 2 plus years from a software and feature enhancement standpoint. Nothing will be better than the Galaxy Note 3 after September 4th period.

  • 21stNow

    Bring it!

  • JosephLagalla

Lets hope on 3 giant launches. Hopefully the One Max comes too.

  • FriendlyNeighborhoodTMobileGuy

If I find anything out about the release or any info on the phone through TMO, I’ll make sure to tell you first, David lol, but you probably already have inside sources haha.

    • http://tmonews.com David

Something like that! :-) Be sure to tell me first!

  • weezy34

Lets hope Samsung is dishing the specs to mobile case makers so they have have products ready on release day…

    .

  • ur <:/3 my heart Samsung

I might have to ditch Samsung this time around. I hate bloat, crappy Roms, and the lack of updates. With every other manufacture coming out with comparable screens and stock experience I just might leave my Notes.
