HTC One Now Available In “Select” Company Owned T-Mobile Stores

htconerear

After a week of ups and downs with online ordering, the HTC One is now officially available in “select” T-Mobile stores. Let’s be clear about one thing however, when T-Mobile says “select” stores they aren’t kidding about it being a limited release through company-owned retail channels. The bottom line is that I’d highly encourage calling your local stores first and make sure they have inventory before trekking all over town. The One is selling for $99 down with 24 monthly payments of $20 per month in the 32GB variety.

There has been a few hiccups with the pre-order process with some shipments getting pushed back or backordered unexpectedly combined with some ill-timed troubles with mytmobile. While we all love the opportunity to pick up the device in-stores and not wait patiently for the delivery man, in this case online ordering is probably your best bet. Still, I wish anyone seeking the device in-stores the very best of luck!

I avoided the frustration of going from store to store. Pre-Ordered my
T-Mobile htc One Friday, it arrives today w/ the official htc One car
kit for free which is a $60 value. No regrets. So I can change the oil
in my lawn mower as I wait for my delivery. : )

    • Jason Choi

Car kit is separate from the phone. So the car kit will come in separately from the phone. (Which will most likely be later; I could be wrong though)

      • Namaste

My car kit came with the device. I ordered last Friday and it came yesterday along with the carkit.

      • http://www.facebook.com/jonathon.sedlacek Jonathon Sedlacek

My car kit shipped with the phone. UPS package weight was 1.9 lbs for the phone and car kit. By the way…this phone is awesome!

    • jonathan3579

I received my One yesterday and going back to Sense from a Nexus device is not easy but the hardware is second to none in my opinion.

      • franktronic

That’s my worry. I’ve been essentially Nexus-only (G1, G2, now Galaxy Nexus) and I’m worried I’m going to hate Sense no matter how good it is. Historically I’ve rooted my phones and installed some variant of Cyanogen, which I’ll likely do if I can’t deal with Sense. The only potential problem with that is that the camera software will be replaced with something generic, possibly leading to crappy shots.

        • jonathan3579

Chances are you’ll probably hate Sense. I certainly don’t love it and I think there’s some things that just involve too many steps – app shortcuts for instance. The fact that you can’t change the dock apps drives me bat shit crazy though so I guess I’ll have no choice but to use a custom launcher or deal with it. (Not sure which I’m prepared to do.) The camera, speakers, screen, and overall build quality are NOTHING short of amazing. You’ll never go back to a plastic phone.

        • franktronic

What? You can’t change the dock apps!?! Wow.

        • jonathan3579

I literally just discovered a few minutes ago that they can be changed but it goes like this:

          -go to app drawer
          -drag down to dock
          -create folder on dock
          -remove unnecessary app

          That is a total pain-in-the-ass.

        • http://www.facebook.com/shatima.thomas Shatima Thomas

you can change the dock apps dude. take your time and learn your phone!

        • jonathan3579

Guess you missed my reply below. Yes, they can be changed but it is NOT a simple task.

        • nyuhsuk

Have you figured out a way to change the lock screen app shortcuts? Argh… I miss my JB lock circle…

        • jonathan3579

The only way to change the lockscreen shortcuts is to change your dock apps. To me, changing lockscreen shortcuts seems like an obvious choice we should have been given. HTC made a lot of nice changes but some of these things I cannot overlook. (I hate that logging into facebook fills your gallery with your friend’s pictures. THERE IS NO WAY TO DISABLE OR REMOVE IT.)

        • nyuhsuk

Sweet. I gotta try this later. Thanks!

      • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

Hey does it come with a screen protector in the box? If not I’ll order a bunch off ebay.

        • jonathan3579

Unfortunately not. I’m going to throw on some cheap universal ones for the meanwhile.

    • http://knightofscorpio.tumblr.com/ DtheArtist

I’m so happy for you. I hope I get mines tomorrow because they cancelled my orders, wouldn’t allow me to do it yesterday, so I’m ordering it over the phone now. No stores in my area at all, but 30 miles away.

      • http://twitter.com/SParKlngCyaNide SparklingCyanide

I debated going to my store today and getting it, but I really wanted that free official car kit. Worth pre-ordering alone. : )

        • http://knightofscorpio.tumblr.com/ DtheArtist

Yeah, free is always a swayer. lol

        • http://twitter.com/SParKlngCyaNide SparklingCyanide

Usually I’m not concerned about discounts, but that is an expensive accessory, soooo worth it!

        • LoveHTC

I also considered ordering online, but I didn’t want to chance a backorder or cancellation. The car kit is nice but I keep the phone in a case and you have to remove it every time. I just use a generic car mount.

    • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

Only reason I didn’t buy online is because I can’t put more than $99 down. I want to put about half down that way my monthly payments on the device are only $10 more a month on my bill.

      • Kenan Jackson

I’m not sure that’s accurate. I remember reading no matter how much you put down or pay ahead, you will still have a $20/mo payment. You just have fewer total payments.

        • Phil

Yep, that’s what I was told in the store too. It will change it on the backend only, decrease the number of payments, not the amount. Though at the same time, if you look at some of the older phones, you have less down and sometimes lower payments so how does that work?

        • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

Well with the cheaper phones payment are less because the total sum is less. So say a Nokia 710 When new was half the price of a galaxy s2. So $300 over 24 months is less than $600 over the same time. Depends on the phone. But looks like they are.trying to get all the high end phones to be at $20 a month with the Down Payment.

        • Phil

Oh no, definitely understand that they are less so the payments would be less, but by going by what you said, they are trying to keep it $99 down and $20 a month payments. So my thought process is, wouldn’t they just lower that down payment and still make it $20 a month? Kind of a little catch to try and keep people on for 24 months. Of course looking at your scenario, even with nothing down on a $300 phone, the payments would be under $20 and it looks like they usually want something down. Think I kind of explained it to myself too. Thanks for the help. lol

        • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

I mean $99 for the new “high end” phones. I think they want to keep them all $99 down for those. Not for all the new phones. Lower end new phones will definitely be cheaper per month.

IDK. I it all depends on the phone. I ordered mine over the phone a few hrs ago. I put a total of $339 down so I owe $20 a month for 12 months. Back when they first started doing this, in 2011 i think, with the even more plus you would be locked in for 20 months but the price per month would be less if you paid more up front. But now the payment is the same they just shorten the #of months you pay for. In six months I’ll owe $140 for the phone and just pay the rest off then and enjoy my $60 per month unlimited plan. (2.5GB of High Speed Data) I don’t use more than 2 GB so it’s a good deal. A penny more than my old plan.

        • an0nim0

“I think they want to keep them all $99 down for [the new 'high end' phones].”

Actually the Galaxy S4 bumped that to $150 down, $20/mo for 24 months, $630 total; it wouldn’t surprise me if the next iPhone hits close to $700.

        • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

Really? I don’t see why the S4 would cost that much and I can’t see how Apple can sell their phones for such a premium for getting so little. I mean I’ve been buying phones at full price unlocked since 2002 and they have always been about $450-$500 for the high end phones Brand New/Day One.They stayed that way with the old Windows phones. With andriod being open source and apple making their own HW and SW you’d think the prices would be less than phones with OSs that are licensed like windows phones.

Apples phones cost like $125 for them to make. Samsungs plastic probably costs less. We are getting duped. Charging over $600 is cruel. The price of tech drops drastically quick so the price for a phone with upgraded HW should cost as much as it’s predocessor a year ago. Not more.

People get ripped off. Especially with apple charging $100 for every extra 16GB in a phone, tablet or ipod. 16gb costs about $20 now is micro sd form.

        • jonathan3579

That’s false. I put $279.99 down and I have payments of $12.50 for 24 months.

        • Phil

You’re right, and I apologize. It’s if you do the down payment they ask, so say $99 down, and then make payments, then it will work as I was saying. If you want to pay more at that time then it takes it off the back end. If you put more down when you get the phone, then it can reduce the payment off the front if you put enough down. That would make sense.

        • jonathan3579

Oh it’s no problem. Sorry if I came off a bit hostile in my post. :)

        • Phil

Oh no, didn’t get that at all. I just hate giving out wrong information and it had been some time since I had picked up the S3 for the wife and was given that information so I had crossed some wires. Thanks for clarifying it and helping me uncross the wires.

        • Jason

He is correct. The higher down payment reduces the monthly installment price. If you pay towards your installment after it has started, that’s when the amount of payments is reduced not the price of the payments.

        • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

You are right. They changed the way it worked from the previous no contract plans. It’s still $20 but the number of months gets reduced. Might as well buy it for $99 online then in 10-12 months im ready for a new phone pay the rest off.

        • Kenan Jackson

That’s my plan with the S4. Pay it off in a year and grab the Note 3, most likely. I think I’ll still be able to get a pretty penny for my S4, unlocked with accessories.

        • http://www.facebook.com/shatima.thomas Shatima Thomas

not true, the more of a down payment, the less for your monthly eip charge.

      • Eli

I just got back from the store, I put $303 down (included the overall tax on the phone, $50, thanks a lot Chicago), and my monthly payments are an extra $14 for the next 24 months…

        • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

Tried to do it online but it wouldn’t let because I refused to switch my plan from the even more plus. Ended up doing it over the pone. Same 2.5GB “uunlimited” data deal for $60. A penny more than I paid before but I get unlimited minutes instead of 500. YAY! (sarcsm)

I ended up being able to put more down over the phone. So I ended up paying $99.99 downpayment + $240 extra. $339.99 before taxes. Plan is up $80 from $60 for the next 12 months. I owe $240 ($579.99 – $339.99) on the phone. So in 6 months I’ll owe $120 ($20×6) and when that time hits I’ll just pay the rest $120 off and my bill will drop back down to $60.

With taxes and next day shipping I ended up paying $411 today.(eeek) (aprox $46 in taxes $25 in shipping.)

        • Sami

Hey Eli, Where did you find it in Chicago? I was looking everywhere today, but no one said they have it.

      • an0nim0

Ironically, if you had worse credit, that’s exactly what they’d make you do.

      • Paul

I put down 276 and my payments are 12 dollars a month

  • http://twitter.com/gallifrey Craig Campbell

My pre-order got messed up and after working with the TForce support folks all weekend, it was finally delivered yesterday. T-Mobile offered me some fantastic compensation for all the problems with my order too, I was blown away to be honest.
Unfortunately the phone had a dud pixel, and I will be sending it back today for replacement! Sigh!!

  • http://about.me/daylondeon Deacon

the more i looked and played with it, the more i’d prefer black .. the phone has some little nuances and changes with Android via Sense that i don’t like so .. i’m still at odds with this and a S4.

Just curious Y black over silver?

      • http://about.me/daylondeon Deacon

the silver just looks out of place when viewed from the front along the black screen .. the back of the device is great but there’s something about the aesthetics when looking at the silver on top and below the black screen.

I am in love with this phone!! The hardest thing is finding the HTC brand case in store :(

Does it have T-Mobile branding? I’ve heard some people state that it does and other state that it doesn’t. Thanks.

    • Bailey

Tried ordering this phone 9am central time, but its not taking my order. :-( remind you im doing an upgrade which im eligible for, but T-Mobile Site is failing me once again

      • thepanttherlady

Based on your comment I have to ask, are you on a Classic plan? If so, you won’t be able to upgrade through the T-Mobile website. Only through T-Mobile retail locations or 3rd party retailers.

        • Bailey

Yes im on a Classic plan. :-( will I be eligible for the 99.00 I see on T-Mobile Website at the retailers or third party retailers?

        • thepanttherlady

Not likely unless you’re able to find it on “sale” at one of those locations. The $99 is a down payment Value and Simple Choice plan customers. They then pay the balance of the phone with $20 monthly payments for 24 months.

I just saw another post showing that Best Buy has it for $299 for Classic plans. I think HTC was offering it for $249, not sure if they still are.

        • Bailey

          OK Thanks!

        • an0nim0

Costco (though Wireless Associates) has it at $160 for those on Classic plans; the website doesn’t list it yet, but the store to which I went this weekend was at least taking [pre?]orders.

        • thepanttherlady

          Thanks for posting the information!

        • http://www.facebook.com/alteredworks Jordan Saṃsāra Price

Actually that’s not entirely correct. I was on the classic plan and was having a nightmare trying to upgrade. I called and spoke with a rep on the phone and found out that the catch is you have to switch over to the simple plan prior to ordering the phone or it will only offer it for the full price. Once I switched the plan I was able to order the phone. I was also past my 18 months so there were no migration fees. I’m still in contract for the next 4 months, but I did get my phone ordered and a cheaper plan minus the $20/m for the phone.

        • thepanttherlady

Which part of my response is incorrect?

ETA: The comment you’re responding to does not pertain to bailey’s question regarding B2V. My comment was in response to this:

          Bailey thepanttherlady
Yes im on a Classic plan. :-( will I be eligible for the 99.00 I see on T-Mobile Website at the retailers or third party retailers?

        • http://www.facebook.com/alteredworks Jordan Saṃsāra Price

Sorry, the response was to the post above that one. “Based on your comment I have to ask, are you on a Classic plan? If so, you won’t be able to upgrade through the T-Mobile website.” Didn’t mean to mince threads.

        • thepanttherlady

It does get hard to follow with the way comments are set up, especially when there gets to be so many. :)

My response to Bailey was still correct in that Classic plan customers cannot upgrade through the T-Mobile website. Nor do Classic plan customers get to utilize the $99 down payment with monthly payments for the device. They have to change their plan to the Simple Choice no contract plan continue subsidizing their devices through T-Mobile retail locations or 3rd party retailers.

Not all customers want the new plan as they haven’t found it to save them any money (discounts etc.). What I didn’t ask in my response was whether Bailey wanted to remain on the Classic plan or switch, I guess at the time I didn’t think it was necessary. Not to mention I was responding via my cell which isn’t very Disqus friendly. Don’t even get me started on that…lol. :)

        • http://www.facebook.com/shatima.thomas Shatima Thomas

go to costco or walmart if you want to keep your classic plan. if not then you can bridge to value and get the phone for 99.00.

        • bailey

Can I do the bridge to value online? One of my 5 lines is eligible for the new plan.

        • thepanttherlady

Did you see @an0nim0:disqus ‘s comment below regarding Costco’s pricing?

        • Bailey

I order my phone before I seen that comment. I did the bridge to value on one of my 5 lines for the 99.00. Thanks :-)

Made an appt with my local TMo store yesterday. Will be picking up two of these babies for my wife and I. We’re both loyal to HTC and can’t wait!! Tried ordering online and its sold out… lame TMo. When HTC sold it on their website orders were cancelled :(

  • A$AP Chris

I’m at a store in the San Antonio area and the store doesn’t open for another hour and the crowd is starting to build. The manager wouldn’t tell me how many they have in stock so fingers crossed!

  • ceo2be

I called a couple of stores in Houston and one store told me none of the store in Houston are getting the HTC One. That can’t be right.

    • Phil

It’s possible. If reading right, only 300 stores in the country are getting it through T-Mobile stores. We only have one here in Colorado that is getting it.

      • Chris

Which store in Colorado is getting it? I can’t find one.

        • Phil

The store on Havana and Mississippi told me the one in Northfield. Don’t know how true that is, but would make sense being how popular that location is. If you go, could you get me one too? lol

    • cnj080607

The store on Braes and Main had about 25 left an hour ago.

      • ceo2be

Thanks. Unfortunately, I live in the SL area, work in DT.

  • sysu3peat

I’ve been trying to preorder my HTC One everyday since early Friday morning but I just keep running into the same errors on the final checkout page. I called 18 customer reps in the past 5-6 days and couldn’t solve the errors I was getting. So they told me to do a phone order on Wednesday so I just called and they told me that they don’t have it. I really don’t know what else to do. My closest store is a 3 hour commute total both ways and I don’t have the time to do that. I’m beyond frustrated and seeing how people that successfully preordered after I tried hundreds of times receive their phone is not making things better. Any suggestions?

    • Phil

Is that the famous X on the installment page saying that there was an error? Yep, same boat here. Now, along with that X it says that they don’t have any and it will ship when it comes in, but can’t get past that X page either way. There are options, but none are probably that great if you are in the same boat as me. Go to a place like Best Buy and pay full price, would say go to HTC website, but they are out too. Secon option go to another store that has it and do a two year contract. If you are like me though, all you want is to get the phone with no contract on the installment plan.

      • sysu3peat

Sigh yeah I was thinking about doing that too, but I don’t think I have the money to do that right now….I need to do the EIP

        • Dave

I had the same issue, the big “X” with error message until I clicked pay in full, and then went through without a hitch.

        • Phil

Yep, that’s the one that I figured is working, but don’t want to pay in full. I could put it on a credit card, but not one that will give me interest free financing for 2 years.

        • sysu3peat

Yeah it has something to to do with Authorizing the EIP (Equipment Installment Plan) but I just can’t pay in full

    • Lilli

Same exact thing happened to me! I tried to pre-order April 19th at 6am- website said sold out. I called and TMO said it was an error but that they had fixed it and to try again. I tried again- but this time I got a brand new error. Called back and was told that they had run out of stock for upgrades and were only fulfilling preordesr for new lines of service. HUH? That didn’t sound right so I spoke to a supervisor who said it was a problem with the site and it should be fixed in 34 hours.
      April 20th-
Entire TMO system down couldn’t order the phone
      April 21
Tried preordering and got the same error message. Called TMO who said it was still a website error and to just order the phone on Wednesday.
      April 22 and 23
Tried to order again via website- and still no luck
      April 24
Called TMO to place order at 4:00AM and was told there was NO stock because HTC pushed back the delivery date to TMO. I asked if any stores would have it and was told NO. I asked why the other carriers have the phone already and was told for that for some reason HCT is having a hard time getting TMO their stock. New Release date is 5/1/13. No phone orders can’t be placed until then- I was directed back to the website to preorder.
It went through this time with a delivery estimate of 5/1 with overnight shipping.

      • sysu3peat

Oh wow! That’s pretty much exactly what was happening! It’s great that you finally got on order in today! So you just tried it again and it worked?

I just tried right now and I’m still stuck on the same error. Not cool….

“Oops–We’re sorry, but we are currently unable
to process your order online. Please visit one of our retail stores to
complete your order. Thank you–we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”

      • viet

I ordered with next day shipping and I had a beautiful time with customer service and they told me I should be expecting it at my house tomorrow at 11AM. You should try again until you get the angel customer service rep that can do anything.

      • http://www.facebook.com/alteredworks Jordan Saṃsāra Price

I ordered mine on line yesterday with the 24 shipping. It gave me an estimated delivery date of today. Of course once I got the order placed and the confirmation email it said an estimated delivery date of 5/1. I’m not into getting shafted on paying for 24 shipping and having to wait a week. I called Tmo support and they told me that if it doesn’t arrive by tomorrow (4/25) to callback and they’ll refund my shipping charge. I recommend doing the same. Oh and as of today my order still says “Upgrade being processed” >.<

  • Livewire81

Mine will be delivered today. Yay

Glad to see all the ‘One’ owners are happy! How is the battery on this phone? I know it has not been long, but can someone speak on that?

    • http://www.facebook.com/jonathon.sedlacek Jonathon Sedlacek

I’m loosing about 5% every hour today, with maybe one 5 minute call every hour, and no web browsing and wifi, gps, and blutooth off right now. This is without the power saver on, so my Facebook, Gmail and yahoo are still checking every 15 minutes or so.. I’ll check again tomorrow with the power saver on, and I’m sure I’ll see better results. Also, I have bad reception where I’m at now…I hear that helps drain the battery too.

      • http://www.youtube.com/#/mrjlwilliams J. Williams

Do you like it so far? Any doubts getting it over any other upcoming devices? Thanks for the reply.

        • http://www.facebook.com/jonathon.sedlacek Jonathon Sedlacek

No doubts. The TV remote function is great, screen quality is amazing. This is my first HTC, so I’m still getting used to the Sense 5. I’m coming from stock Android. So far I do not have a single complaint…and that is rare for me. The date on the box for mine was April 15th, 2013, so maybe T-Mobile released it a week later than everyone else, but it seems like these ones do not have the build quality issues some people were talking about on the internet. When I get off work tonight I’ll really sit down and play with it, I’m sure I’ll find something wrong with it…I have to, it’s my nature. So far it is great though!

Yeah. I hate sense UI. Which is why I passed on it. But it looks super nice.

      • Whiskers

Are the front speakers on the phone very loud with good definition ?

        • http://www.facebook.com/jonathon.sedlacek Jonathon Sedlacek

The front speakers are good, but I honestly haven’t had a chance to put my music on it, so I can’t comment 100% on the quality of sound.

        • http://www.facebook.com/shatima.thomas Shatima Thomas

they are amazing. makes you want to listen to music and watch videos.

        • Whiskers

          Thanks for the info.

    • http://www.facebook.com/jonathon.sedlacek Jonathon Sedlacek

I’m still loosing a consistent 5% every hour. I switched on the power saver mode at 1pm, so we’ll see how that works for the next few hours.

  • http://twitter.com/hsingh1158 Harper Singh

I’m sad that they don’t come with headphones while the ATT ones do.

    • Kris Chaitu

those headphones are crappy 3$ ones …but yourself a good one and save your ear

  • techymexican

All the stores in Los Angeles told me they won’t have it in stock. Has anyone had a different expirience?

    • Josie

      Nothing in DC metro.

    • Van

I talked to a retail store in the Valley, woman told me they received their shipment yesterday, will pick one up in about 30 min.

      • whiteiphoneproblems

        Which store?

        • Van

I picked mine up at the store in Woodland Hills, in Warner Center. Line was about 10 ppl long at 10:30 for what it’s worth.

  • Sunny

Call about 10 stores in Boston. No store has them…. what kinda of release is this?? This is a joke. ATT and sprint has them for almost a week now…. T-mobile what are you doing?

  • J. Walter Weatherman

Is T-Mobile not releasing new phones through other retailers anymore (Costco, Best Buy, etc)? The One is only available through T-Mo corporate and I see websites offering up pre-orders for the GS4, but not for T-Mo. I’m on a family plan and other lines have 20 months left on their contract and am eligible for an upgrade. I wanted to use the upgrade for the One and pay a subsidized $200 rather than $579 over two years since we’re locked in our contract anyway. I’m frustrated that this doesn’t appear to be an option. I don’t want to change plans and I don’t want to add $20 a month to the bill for a phone for two years.

    • Phil

Best Buy has it right now if you go to their website. Different from the others for some reason, $299.99 down instead of $199.99 with 2 year new contract.

      • Josie

        Also $699 un-activated. What a scam

        • superg05

          that’s how retail works

      • J. Walter Weatherman

Thanks for the heads up, but what a ripoff. They seem to be the only third party retailer with the T-Mo version right now, so maybe that’s why it’s so high. Hopefully others will be offering it soon and the price will be comparable to the other carriers. I have until the 30th to buy it and use the HTC trade in program.

        • Phil

Oh crap! I had to double check my email as I thought we had more time. Thanks for bringing that up.

    • an0nim0

Costco (though Wireless Associates) has it at $160 for those on Classic plans; the website doesn’t list it yet, but the store to which I went this weekend was at least taking [pre?]orders.

      • J. Walter Weatherman

Thanks, I’d only looked at their website. I’ll give them a call.

    • http://www.facebook.com/shatima.thomas Shatima Thomas

costco has it so does walmart and sams club. try staples also.

      • J. Walter Weatherman

Staples doesn’t do wireless beyond prepaid in Colorado. Went to my closest Costco and while the kiosk advertised it on T-Mo, they didn’t have any and he didn’t know when they were getting them. He tried looking it up in the system and in a binder and said they don’t even have a SKU for it yet. Called a Walmart, girl there had never heard of it and said they didn’t have it, but to try a different Walmart that she said always gets things first. Tried them and they had two in stock. $150 upgrade on a family classic plan. So stoked.

ordered the htc monday, got it yesterday. Excellent phone and the car kit was a nice bonus.

    • sloanie

lucky dog. Ordered Sunday, still sitting in “Backorder” status. Patience is a virtue… right? ;)

  • LoveHTC

Writing this from my gorgeous new HTC One. Got two this morning. My local select store in Woodbridge NJ had about 20 phones. I bought #14&15. There was a line ahead of me and behind me. Good luck peeps! Nexus 4 going on eBay !

    • Kris Chaitu

why do you need two..you could have got one and spare one for an other one!!!just saying

      • thepanttherlady

Perhaps it’s a gift? I don’t understand why it matters to be honest.

        • Kris Chaitu

it doesn’t…but it makes a difference as a person

        • Deon Davis

Um he’s married? He’s wife shouldn’t deserve a nice phone?

        • Kris Chaitu

yes she does…but he can wait!!

        • JakeR

Thats a dumb comment i kno for a fact if i got a new phone and i didnt get one for my wife THERE would be problemS. She would be all like HELL NA u got yourself a new phone why the hell didn’t u get me one?

      • LoveHTC

For my wife! Thanks for looking out for the other people. Gosh I’m so greedy! There should be a limit on my phone purchases, and my wages too! Cheers, Karl Marx!

As a pre-existing customer with a family value plan, I cannot seem to order a One, for the $99 payment, without changing my plan to an individual $79 plan.

    Any insights?

    • Kris Chaitu

      welcome to t-mobile

    • GwapoAko

Just go to the store and talk to the manager.. Or call retention, tell them about your situation.

    • kalel33

You can order it online with payments but you aren’t going to get the $99 down. It’s $279 down and then $12.50 a month. T-mobile doesn’t want people on their cheaper Value plans(meaning the ones with less than unlimited minutes) and this is a way to coax those people into moving. I’m definitely not going to.

      • http://profiles.google.com/mrice.hill Mr. Hill

When people have to pay $279 it’s based on their credit, not the fact that they’re on the Value plans. If you’re on the value plan then you can stay on it and still pay $99 down as long as you’re in the proper credit class.

        • kalel33

Weird, I asked my credit class a couple of months ago from a rep and stated that I’m a credit class D, which isn’t A but isn’t the low level credit class of R-Z. $99 might just be for credit class A-C.

        • http://www.facebook.com/moses.jc.77 Moses JC

          A b c & O well qualified …. There is no R-Z

        • kalel33

When I was a rep there, was at least an L class credit rating. I remember seeing accounts with that rating.

        • http://www.facebook.com/moses.jc.77 Moses JC

There is an L its not well qualified if ur a new l customer … Only if L with tenure

  • Get_at_Me

I cant wait to score my free 32gb HTC One!

    • an0nim0

Yet waiting is all you can do at this point.

  • cnj080607

A store rep told a customer while I was there that they currently weren’t allowed to sell the phone full price without a plan because of the limited shipment.

    • Josie

yeah but theoretically, you could just pick a plan and immediately cancel it because there is no contract. that is what I plan on doing because T-Mobile won’t sell it any other way. you are paying full price anyway so it doesn’t matter

  • Singleweird

neither corporate store in boulder, colorado has them or knows when they’re getting them

    • J. Walter Weatherman

The Walmart at 92nd & Sheridan in Westminster has one left.

  • Salvador

What accessories for the HTC One, if any, are you guys currently finding in T-Mobile stores?

  • Don

I’m still wondering where the black One is lol

  • mosdeftito

I just ordered mine, first they said it would be here today. Now the date is pushed back till may 1st. Can’t wait!

  • Viet

I just ordered mine since the closest store in MD was …not even in MD its in DC, I just ordered overnight shipping and you will have to call in customer service because they will push you back for May 2nd but I called and they will deliver it to me tomorrow by 11AM. I hope I get the car dock as well for my troubles :P

    • viet

update: my phone got put on backorder?

      • Josie

how can you tell if your order got put on backorder?

        • viet

I checked order status and it said backordered…

        • Josie

sorry to hear that. mine is still showing being processed. don’t know if that’s better or worse?

        • viet

Mine got back to processed O-o, when did you order your phone? I was gonna go to DC since they told me it was either that or NYC to get the phone on release day.

        • Josie

4/24 9:51am PST. a friend of mine ordered a couple hours before me and his just changed to Shipped so maybe there is hope after all

        • viet

I ordered mine on 4/24 11:42AM PST do you live in the MD area? it sounds like you do. Also, please tell me when yours goes to shipped I am expecting this tomorrow D:

        • viet

          Its on backorder again :(

        • Josie

No change overnight for me. Still shows processing but doesn’t seem like I will be getting it today.

        • viet

Thats weird that i got backordered and yours is stil processing….Im sensing something is very wrong now.

        • Josie

Still processing. I called in and they couldn’t tell me much but said I should receive an update within a couple hours. Still no update but I have a feeling that my order is in limbo between the shipped orders and the back-ordered orders.

        • Viet

I called frantically to see what was going on and apparently they are out of store for sure :(. But the customer retention department knocked off 10 dollars of my bill each month gor 6 months thouh…might be a good time for you guys who waited for awhile to take advantage of this downtime to lower your monthly bill.

        • Josie

I called again and now they tell me they can’t update me with any new information for 48 hours. this is ridiculous

        • viet

Im gonna keep calling until I get good information that I want
Update: I will be recieving a call within an hour about what is going on apparently the CC will contact HTC to see when phones will be coming in? O_o

        • Josie

At this point I would be happy if they would just update the status to backordered so I know that there is some progress. My CC was charged yesterday but still showing as a Pending charge. Seems to be a theme

        • viet

My card is also pending, and I still did not get a call I am very disappointed :/ but it does not make sense that i ordered 2 hours later than you did and my order status got updated.

Update: my order status showed it was shipped with a tracking number! hope yours does too!

Update 2: Hehe its shipping! going to be here by 3:00 PM!

        • Josie

congrats. thats awesome but no my order is STILL Processing. I am so tired of this. If it still says processing at the end of the day I will probably just cancel the order. It’s now going on 48 hours sitting at Processing.

        • viet

my order got finished processing at 5:33PM yesterday, I honestly dont know what is going on for your order since you ordered 2 hours before i did O_o, did you call and complain alot? that seemed to help me alot…

        • Josie

I have talked to multiple reps but they are pretty helpless. i keep getting emails from T-mobile saying there is a problem with the order but everytime I call in, they say there is nothing wrong and they are waiting to hear from another department to get the shipping info. I’m glad you got some resolution for your order

        • viet

Have you tried customer rentention yet? they usually give you the best answer and will lower your bills if you complain to them long enough

    • http://twitter.com/BiNTHAGREAT bin tha great

i got mine and it didn’t even say i was gona get one… so probably

      • viet

when did you order yours? and did it say backordered on your order status?

  • JakeR

i want to get this phone does anyone really know how is the camera? Most reviews i read online say the camera aint that good does anyone know if this is true???

    • http://www.facebook.com/shatima.thomas Shatima Thomas

camera is awesome. camera on the one x was pretty awesome too.

  • TheRedFerrari

I stood in line for an hour at Tmo just to get the One without any second thoughts. Amazingly it feels/looks better in person than in the photos. It’s amazingly light (even lighter than my 4.3″ soft plastic Amaze 4G) for such a large metal phone, crazy slim, and I love how the light gleams off of the metal surfaces…

    Galaxy S 4??? Lol!

  • Gamesoul Master

Picked up my T-Mobile HTC One a couple days ago from a Walmart (nobody had told them the release date, so they were happy to sell it). I had been tempted to preorder it, but I’m glad I had changed my mind. Loving it so far.

  • http://de-kart.com Wagonist

I ordered mine on Sunday over the phone, showed up yesterday.

I initially ordered it online Friday, but T-Mo cancelled that order for some reason, luckily I called Sunday to check up on it and was able to re-order.

    • http://de-kart.com Wagonist

oh forgot to add, they gave my free overnight shipping AND the car dock despite ordering over the phone instead of online.

Does anyone know if the T-Mobile and AT&T HTC One’s are compatible as far as networks?

    • http://www.facebook.com/shatima.thomas Shatima Thomas

yes. it has both lte bands and should work on att hspa too. has to be unlocked though.

  • JafetGarcia

Loving my HTC One so far! And it’s crazy how limited the inventory one of our stores in our districts only had three.

  • LordCaliban

So I was impatient and grumpy when it didn’t come out on the 19th, then I figured I’d order it this weekend and we know how that went so by the time I could order it on Sunday I figured I’d wait until Wednesday and save the $25 in super fast shipping. Having called all the stores in my area yesterday to see who would have it, I was informed the closest location to me was well over 100 miles away and thus went back and ordered it online which is still f’n processing.

I’m jealous of all you who have theres, but hopefully by this time next week I will be holding mine!

    • http://twitter.com/BiNTHAGREAT bin tha great

just wait just got mine today its worth the crazy stuff u went through ordering it…believe i went throught the same thing.

  • Tmofanguyperson

And htc wonders why their phones don’t sell, why would you make this phone limited I guess their allergic to making a profit. I give it 8 months till its EOL in tmobile

  • my49montlhy

i am done with contracts so im waiting for the nexus 4s or the nexus 5…. $299 out of contract with pure andriod and instant google updates!!!!!

  • dtwhsieh

T-Mobile store in Gilbert AZ sold out HTC One. I got on the waiting list and am hoping to get the call soon.

  • CactoesGel

I couldn’t wait, I just bought my first iPhone. Damn HTC!

    • tomarone

Just return it. They will take it back you just pay shipping.

  • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

Fuuuuuuu…… I paid for next day shipping, $25, and guess what? Its freaking back ordered. Woke up at 7:30 this morning to an email alert. Guess its OK though, gives my screen protectors and cases a chance to get here first.

    • viet

same thing happened to me too man, you arent the only one :/

    • sloanie

My case arrived yesterday… phone backordered still. Customer service keeps telling me that the expected delivery date is April 30, but I’m not going to hold my breath at this point. I guess we’ll see!

    • http://knightofscorpio.tumblr.com/ DtheArtist

Samehere. I just ordered mine today because I was having account issues, but I was able to today, and the rep said it’s on “backorder” (and it’ll be maybe 2-3 days, like Monday), major fail T-Mobile, major fail. But at least my order was processed I guess.

    • kevin hundon

So, looks like i made a good decision this time, once they canceled my online order, I went to the T-mobile store and grabbed it as the first one, took 30 min only :).

      • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

Your a lucky man. My store doesn’t even know its out. They said its not coming out till may. No idea which stores on the Denver area got any. I didn’t want to spend a whole day driving around and/or calling aimlessly

    • LordCaliban

I just got my tracking number and it says it should be here end of Monday, so I’m hoping at least!

      • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

I’m still waiting for an email for a tracking number. Hopefully I get one tomorrow and it comes Saturday.

        • LordCaliban

I haven’t got the email yet, nor the supposed txt msg but when I log into My Tmobile the status has changed to shipped and has my tracking number. I ordered on Tuesday in the evening if that helps any. So it took about 48 hours to go from processing to shipped.

        • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

Intresting. I’ll check my MyTmobile. This morning it switch from ‘Processed’ to ‘Backordered’

        • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

So my status is now shipped. I checked ‘Order Status’ and I have a tracking number but the phone is not at the facility yet so I do not have a delivery date. Hope it’s tomorrow. I can wait till Saturday. I think. I’ve destroyed my Sensation so bad. With the Roms I’ve been using it can’t handle it. Over heated the processor so the solder for wifi and bluetooth came loose. It locks up and gets super slow at times. I need a new phone!

        • LordCaliban

This morning I also got a 2nd email stating my “Car Kit” order has processed. I didn’t even think I was going to get the car kit, so thats a bonus!

        • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

Were you a new customer? Did you do a over the phone or online order? I was told it was limited to new customers. Because every time I logged in to order on MyTmobile the limited time sticker and anything else about it would disappear.

Its OK though because I have that weird tampon green shaped sticky phone holder that’s on tv. Works really great.

        • LordCaliban

I’ve been with TMobile for a good 4 or 5 years now and I just upgraded it online through the website. I had no idea I was even getting the car kit till I got that email.

        • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

That’s bull. I’ve been with them since 2002. I want my car kit.

Also got the phone 24 hrs ago. It’s so awesome. Speakers are amazing. Screen is beautiful. Pictures are great for a 4mp ultrapixle. The reviews shoe that the camera makes whites off white but in my tests the camera is spot on. My newspaper pics look like a newspaper. I can see me using zoe (life in Greek) mode quit a bit.

        • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

Got it an hour ago. Sooo nice. Have to take super care of it till case and screen protectors come in.

No car kit with it. :(

        • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

UPS update d my shipping info. Tomorrow 3pm mountain time. Wooo!

        • LordCaliban

w00t! Congrats. Mine has officially departed on the truck as well, still showing end of business day on Monday which is cool for me. Gives me something to do all night after work!

        • Dimitri Gatsiopoulos

          Nice!

  • Caerolle

I just called my local store, asked when they would get the One, and was told, “Sometime in May.” I’m like, when in May? “The third or fourth week.”!!!

Then I asked about ordering online, and was told they were back-ordered. Sounds like HTC still can’t get the units out the door, very frustrating. I guess it doesn’t make much difference to them, though, as Samsung can’t seem to deliver on the S4, either.

  • onephone

Got the phone yesterday. The battery life is extremely terrible. It got to 30% after using it with playing music through speakers, a little bit of movie, 3 phone calls about 10min each and internet for about 4 hours.

    Camera sucks.

The phone is hot. You do not want to put it up to your ear while surfing the web when you receive a call.

Using speakers during a call is tough because other hears echo.

So far that is what I found. Loved the screen and speakers when play music.

Having 2nd thought to return it.

    • kevin hundon

Are you really having the ONE or just really have a bad luck? 1st, My ONE has super clear and true voice when i make phone calls; 2nd,it make nice pictures, but it sucks and can not make clear picture when i keep shaking my hand; 3rd, since NOW, battery is so far so good, bought one yesterday morning 9:41am, didn’t charger, until now 8:52pm, 7% left. 20 hours wifi, 30 min phone call, 24 pictures, 3 min video, but did not play music and movie. finally, i did not play the phone over 1 hour, so i have not found my one get hot, if i do i will let you know! If your ONE is really like you said, exchange one and try it, good luck!

      • onephone

        it could be….

Well I got it reset and put in back to the box.

By the way, the car kit is nice. it comes with a special cable which turns the phone to different menu for driving…I guess when you plug it in but I hate it as well because I can’t use other navigation app besides google maps….

        • kevin hundon

          man, then i miss it…

  • yoshi

i want ONE!!! but i want a black one> anyone know if and when that will get to tmo?

  • DADDYM

I’m not trolling and I don’t have any association with T mobile or any other cell provider.
After reading and watching several reviews of this phone I would like to share a few things with ANYONE considering this phone. Here in Dallas, Texas a live demo was available at about five locations. I operate in the idea that nothing beats your own hands on perspective, so here is what I took from handling the device.

    1. It is a good looking device from a hardware standpoint, but by no means did it feel like the most premium phone ever!! The use of aluminum may sound sturdy, but keep in mind it’s one of the softer metal products available. Which means if you want to keep this phone like new a body case will be a must.
    2. Htc is still on a mission to force feed us new things, but has done little to show one thing they do perfectly.
Blink Feed basically another version of Flipboard can be useful as quick hub, but making the app the center piece of the home screen seems to be very anti android!
Ultra Pixel camera technology was again another attempt to focus on innovation instead of making something great and more wide range in capability.

    3. The Display I saw was very clear but did not emphasize brightness much at all. The 469ppi rating sounds amazing but people need to keep in mind there isn’t lot of free content available in1080p to begin with. Even your best clips on Youtube perform are 720p at best. Also the use of yet another LCD screen seems a bit old. Amoled or even IPS would have been a much better choice. Again the screen I saw was great in overall clarity low on brightness and that added a dull factor to the display…imo.
    4. Boomsound, absolutely great! You will definitely have an edge on anyone using just the speakers on the phone to entertain or play anything audio related.
    5. Pricing, Availability, Consumer Readiness…..

Price wise, I think T-mobile could have sold this about $20 cheaper at $549.99(Just Lower The GS3 and it would make better sense. Availability, personally I think as usual marketing games are at play here. Htc and Samsung are both doing it, but like the fail of the One S and One X, The GS4 will be again the new leader. HTC had a huge opportunity and they wasted yet another opportunity to really wow us all. Htc will sell a few of theses so called One’s but THIS PHONE WILL NOT BE THE ONE THEY HOPED FOR. GS4 ALL THE WAY BABY!!!!

    • Not_paid_by_fakesung

Your last sentence reveal your true color and render all your biased review into the toilet.

Btw,enjoy your “premium” plastic and laggy toy .
