Google Employee Posts Android Evolution Comic, Adds Key Lime Pie?

If there’s one thing we know, we’re always eagerly awaiting news, any news that surrounds the next-generation Android. In fact, Google employee Manu Cornet’s image is stirring the nest around the interwebs as a “confirmation” of sorts that Key Lime Pie will be the next Android platform. Cornet, who is part of the Gmail team inside of Google says he drew the comic “just for fun,” and not to read into the image too much. Given that Cornet’s not on the “inside” within the Android team at Google, it’s likely that we should take the image at face value and not official confirmation that Key Lime Pie is the next iteration of Android.

Still, its possible that we’ll see a large piece of Key Lime Pie sitting on Google’s HQ lawn in the coming months and if so, we’ll know which Google employee confirmed it first. Let’s just be honest, the name Key Lime Pie has been tossed around for so long with the next major Android launch, is there any question Google wouldn’t use it anymore?

Nice. I wonder what features/improvements KLP will have.

Google : ” Google Exec Blurts Out Android Key Lime Pie Prematurely” Here’s the excerpt… ” Some people have said that Android 5.0 features will include touches from the Chrome operating system features. However there is nothing to confirm this, so don’t hold your breath”.

There is one thing we know for certain, next Android version – June release, would be named after a “K” sweet food.

Not to worry. Mayans have told us the world comes to an end in 18 more days…

      • The singularity is near

Actually Mayans had a long count calendar. We are merely moving into the next B’ak’tun and should be celebrating it and embracing the great awaking of the machines.

Breaking: Next Android version will be named after a dessert starting with the letter “k”. Sources speculate it may be “Key Lime Pie”.

I have NEVER agreed with Google’s naming convention for its ROMs.

I dunno about others, but I have eaten many a dessert that I would not have, but for Google putting the thought into my mind.

I mean come on: I can recall buying ice cream sandwiches on my bike ride home, buying a bag of Jelly Belly jellybeans at Walgreens (and hoarding the black ones), stopping at midnight at Jack’s Donuts to get fresh out-of-the-vat maple donuts, and I folded like a cheap suit on trying to resist (aka walk on by) the local bakery that sells fresh eclairs.

Washington should really get involved here. Pass a law, all Android versions must come with a pop-up message:

“WARNING: WHEN THE MARTIANS COME THEY WILL EAT THE FATTIES FIRST!”

Have to leave, need some Ben and Jerry’s Key Lime Pie ice cream. It is on sale.

    Okay…now that’s been resolved, what’s the “L” release going to be called…

Or Licorice. They may need to trim down on a few of their deserts if they plan on having something for every letter on their lawn. LOL

Last one will be a diabetic android :

  • Dakota

I hope they do use a different name to screw with everyone

  • JBLmobileG1

Maybe Google will purchase the Hostess names for say Twinkies and Zingers. After all, once those letters come around it may be a little hard to find a desert name that will go along with those letters. LOL

I just did a check for updates on my Samsung Galaxy SIII and it is downloading an update the size of 340+mb, could this be that T-Mobile just released Jelly Bean to SIII users?
