ISIS Team Confirms October 22nd Launch In Salt Lake City, Austin

In a confirmation of our story earlier this week indicating the ISIS Mobile Wallet program would begin on October 22nd, comes confirmation via The Verge from the head of marketing for ISIS.

“Isis will be launching in Austin and Salt Lake City on Oct. 22. By year end, as many as 20 Isis Ready handsets are expected to be in market. We look forward to sharing more details on Oct. 22.”

Residents in Salt Lake City, Utah and Austin, Texas can head to a T-Mobile store provided you are running a Galaxy S III, Galaxy S II or Galaxy S Relay 4G stock, non-rooted device beginning sometime next week. The appearance of the T-Mobile ISIS Mobile Wallet app in the Play Store this past Monday further indicated the launch was right around the corner.

We expect to hear a lot more about ISIS next week once it officially breaks cover.

Anything to do with Google and/or Android is just a way to suck more personal information on to their servers and track your habits and every move. Avoid.

This is only specific to Android b/c no other OS offer NFC support. I don’t think Google has their hands on this product anymore than they do on Square or other payment systems
