Best Buy Offering Nokia Lumia 710 On Monthly 4G Plan, For A Little Extra

If Best Buy has carried the Lumia 710 on T-Mobile’s Monthly4G for some time, this is the first we’ve heard of it. Given that their price is $50 more than T-Mobile’s own offer, I can’t really say I’d recommend taking them up on it anyway. While Best Buy may have the larger price tag, perhaps they are counting on some impulse buys from people walking through the Best Buy Mobile department.

I’m happy to see that T-Mobile has their “top” Windows Phone device available (which it has been for some time) on their Monthly 4G plans, I wouldn’t recommend picking it up at Best Buy and spending an extra $50.

What If we just want to buy the phone and use it on the Pay as you go plan or the walmart plan of 30 dollars and 100 mins and 5GB Data? Can we do that?

      • niftydl

Yes, you can use this phone with any plan. Just remember that it will try to use the data automatically.

$350 in a tmobile store (phone only)….$300 @ bestbuy if used on any plan/option lower than the $50/mo Monthly 4G plan….Ideal scenario: Go to tmo store.  Buy lumia with a $50 plan/epin ($250 total cost)…then activate the exclusive $30 plan later (sim only)…total cost $280 vs $330 (phone bought at bb w/ $30 plan activated post purchase)

    $200 at T-Mobile stores

      200 plus what?

  • Get_at_Me

David, i think the Lumia is only $200 @ a tmobile corp store with the activation of a $50 or higher monthly plan. $350 full invoice. So if youre looking to get just the phone looks like bb offers a slightly better deal.

I’m a sales rep.. that is is exactly correct

That is with activation of a prepaid $50+ plan. One can buy the phone for $200 + one month of prepaid at $50, give away or trash the prepaid sim and still come out ahead of bb’s price.

I still own 2 nexus s from Feb 2011. Payed 100 for it at best buy, great deal at the time, thanks to the heads up article from david over a year ago. Thanks David.

This is an okay deal, however one could find one online elsewhere for a lower price.  TMo sells the activation kits for $0.99.

My wife loves her 710. She said it is the best phone she has ever used and she is coming from a GSII. She has also had a C7, HD2, G2, E63 and other phones. Her favorite feature is the battery life. She completely gave up on Android last week after her GSII died at work causing her to miss the phone calls from her dad about a death in the family. That was the last straw for her. She put up with the random apps opening but she could not put up with the phone not lasting the whole day after being charged all night.

Her second favorite feature is the ease of use. I’ve never seen her use her smartphone so much. Se even used Nokia Drive without me having to give her a crash course. I gave her a 10 minute WP overview, helped set up her homescreen widgets and she has never been more satisfied with a phone.

    Her 2 major complaints:

Email attachments. You have to go to Office and click share to attach a document. She wants to be able to create an email and THEN attach documents like on basically every other OS and smartphone OS known to man.

Copy and Paste lacking a Select All function. I have not looked into this one but she hates dragging the cursor to the bottom of the screen and holding it there to select all the text in a multi page document.

She isn’t looking back to Symbian or Android. She even asked about WP devices on other carriers.

    Great phone all around.
