Does this mean the Samsung Galaxy S II (S 4G II) is going up in price to 599, to match the Amaze 4G? darn.

  • Tuliom Mesa

    so..? no upgrades just new?

    • Kelly

This is a new plan structure. You can migrate from your current but cost depends on how long you’ve been under contract will determine the migrating fee. If you’re within 3 months of the end of your contract, there is no cost.

  • Anonymous

If a chart shows full rebates, it should include the required new line activation fee. No new line activation equals no full rebate.

What i would like to see is the total dollar amount spent after 2 years, out the door.

  • J. Williams

I wonder how well this will do…hmm.

  • Socsoccer

How is this a deal when all p hones require you to pay 20 extra payments?? TMobile is scamming people into buying phones instead of actually giving deals. Smh..

    • HM

Not really. One line Value plan Unlimited is $60 with no discount on phone. Classic plan Unlimited is $80 with Amaze of SGS II for $259 both with 2 year contract.

So Classic plan is $20 * 24 Months = $480 more expensive then value plan, thus net cost for the phone is $259 + $480 = $739.

With the Saturday Sale, after mail in Rebate you can buy Amaze or SGS II for $450. So the net savings with Value plan is $739 – $450 = $289 over 2 years if there is one line. More the line, more you save with Value plan.

I know the math is little complex but there are real savings with Value plans.

I have a 3 line family plan and 2 of the lines end january and other in september. Ready to pay the cancellation fee on the 3rd line and get out. Been a customer for 8+ years.

    • WWWYKI!

I have 4 lines. 3 of them just ended last week, but mine ends in December 2012. I’m still ready to pay the $200 cancellation fee. It’s not worth staying around anymore. Been with them for 10 years. Probably gonna go to Verizon as soon as they announce the release date of the Galaxy Nexus

      • VibrantKid

i did the same thing. right on…

  • jojo

Does tmobile have any real tablets on sale besides gslate. old enough not to get ice cream. When will the real liquidation begin for the gslate so tmobile can move on. Didn’t they rent them out because they had too many.

    • Kelly

They have (or will have, don’t know the release date) the Springboard and they currently have the Samsung Tab 10.1 which curiously isn’t on the list above…

  • Kelly

    WHERE is the Tab 10.1?

  • Eric_1032

i picked up HTC Radar yesterday from tmo store.  i couldn’t wait until saturday because both my primary phone and backup phone broke down one after another.

what’s the chance of going back on sat and argue my way for the $50 rebate, lol?

  • Drew

This is all pretty ridiculous… After read about this yesterday, I stopped in to a T-Mobile store on the way home from work yesterday to get some clarification on these plans. One of the reps I spoke with knew VERY LIMITED details nothing on this and in fact he was asking ME what’s going on for Saturday.

Come to find out, today is my last day on contract (wife still has 401 days left) and although I’ve been due an upgrade since September, if I commit to this  “Value Plan”, which would save us money monthly, I would have to pay a “migration fee” of $150 that will post on next months bill. WTF is that?? He said in essence you’re cancelling the wife’s Classic Plan and moving to the Value Plan. It’s madness… I’m unsure if I should just pay the $229 for the SGS2 +upgrade +tax and renew my contract and change to the Value Plan later.

So, I’m in a quandary at the moment. My gut feeling is that they (T-Mo) want to get rid of the “Classic” unlimited plan. The Value Plan says it’s unlimited but with 2GB and 5GB caps, that’s not unlimited. The talk and text is but the data is not. I don’t mind having my data “throttled” after 5GB because I’ll never see it but don’t put me on an “unlimited” plan and have me choose either 2GB or 5GB…

    • Eric_1032

i was told by the rep that it’s 4g speed up to 5gb or 2gb (depend on plan), but it’s downgraded to 3g speed if you go over.  so in that sense, it’s unlimited.

      • ShamanAndy

Actually really good.  They will likely honor price matches to their own deals within 14 days.

        • ShamanAndy

That was for your other comment below, sorry Eric.

  • Bbcforyou

II pay $80 bucks, everthing unlimited Plus international call unlimited also…

  • Deeg

Heres a question _ It shows the retail price of the Samsung Exhibit 2 as 349.99 on the chart above.  You can buy this phone off contract on Tmobile.com for 250 or at Walmart or Amazon for 199.  So if you buy it on the VALUE SALE , you’re paying $150 more for the phone than if you’d buy it at retail?  How is that a value?  If you wanted the value rates and a contract, then buy the phone at Walmart and sign up for a Value plan.  But if you were doing that, wouldn’t it be cheaper to buy the phone and then do a prepaid plan and not have any contract or penalties.  I don’t know about family plans but I think for an individual, that would be a better deal and the SALE actually is going to cost you  more money. Maybe its a deal on other handsets; I don’t know…but this seems really shady when the price they’re charging on a value plan sale is more than the price on their own website if you bought the phone without a contract!   How does this make any sense?

    • HM

The sale is on Amaze & SGS II. Retail for both is $550 to $599, and with this plan, after Mail In Rebate, they are $450 each.

      • Sir_ivn

They change the original retail prices on those phones. $530.00 & $560.00…sgs2 & amaze..

  • Deeg

Dont understand the deal.  On the Samsung Exhbit 2, they show the price as 350 – yet they’re selling the phone off contract on their website for 250 or 199 at Walmart.  So the ‘sale’ would actually cost you $150.  And at that point, why sign a 2 year contract – wouldn’t you get the same plan at a lower price without contract on prepaid?  And no fees or taxes?  I don’t know about family plans but for an individual – at least on that handset- its not a deal at all.  Its actually quite a scam when you’re charging $150 more than you can get the phone off contract on your own.

    • Daddym469

Steve, I have your answer’s right here. First of all unrelated to this sale is the popularity of Samsung products in general. If you have been paying close attention look at the Sidekick 4g or the Gs2, Tmobile has generally priced the popular or higher selling models with very tight  margins. In other words if the phone is a Samsung and its been a great selling device, that model takes longer to be reduced than a non popular or older model. Now as far as the Exhibit 2, You need to understand that this phone is being sold and marketed three ways.
Walmart and T mobile are exclusive dealers of the monthly 4g or prepaid plan. Walmart is selling it for 199 off contract to prepaid and post paid customers. Keep in mind This phone is the only 4g capable phone that can be activated off contract. Value and Classic plans both require contract. Tmobile is not competing with walmart on pricing because they can’t so thats why they are selling it for $ 250 if you get it off contract at a T mobile store. The $350 price directly relates to the samsung pricing structure I mentioned earlier, but what you obviously dont get is the $350 price relates directly to the Value Plan and the ability to pay out the phone over 20 months. On saturday this phone will be 50$ PLUS THE TAX ON THE 350.T HEN AFTER REBATE YOU END UP GETTING THE PHONE FOR 0NLY 300$ REMEMBER THE LOGIC IS A VALUE PLAN CUSTOMER IS ON A CONTRACT AND IS ALREADY SAVING A LOT OF MONEY ON PLAN RATES. YOU CAN GO TO WALMART AND SPEND 200 CASH PLUS TAX IF THIS IS THE PHONE YOU WANT. TOMORROW A VALUE PLAN UNLIMITED MEMBER CAN WALK OU THE DOOR WITH THIS PHONE FOR$78$, and still be able to activate the full line of phones on the value plan. To my knowledge you cant activate any higher end phone on prepaid….thats what makes this phone unique and limited. I will agree if this is your phone of choice, spending another 100 to get it at walmart makes more sense cost wise but value plan members signed up to get cheaper phone rates AND BUY THE PHONE AT FULL PRICE…..YOU CANT GO BUY A GS2 AT WALMART AND ACTIVATE IT FOR 30$, YOUR FIRST ISSUE WOULD BE GETTING IT OFF CONTRACT FOR 200$ NOT GONNA HAPPEN. THIS SALE IS GREAT FOR THE CUSTOMERS IT IS BEING OFFERED TO.

      • El

It is clearly stupid to pay $300 on a phone when you can pay $200 outright. I can’t believe how longwinded you are.

        • Daddym469

Dummy Im trying to help you idiots who don’t understand what BEING ON THE VALUE PLAN IS ALL ABOUT…ITS NOT ABOUT PREPAID, OR MOTHLY 4 G OR YOU TERMINATING YOUR CONTRACT, OR GETTING THE PHONE FREE…….VALUE PLAN MEMBERS PAY FULL PRICE FOR THE PHONE IN EXCHANGE FOR CHEAPER RATES…….I ALREADY SAID THIS EXHIBIT PHONE IS UNIQUE BECAUSE ITS BEING OFFERED THROUGH WALMART, BUT YOU CANT ACTIVATE A HIGHER END PHONE THROUGH THE WALMART PLAN……THE DESIGN IS IF YOU WANT TO GET A GALAXY OR AMAZE….YOU WILL BE ON CONTRACT…POINT BLANK PERIOD…LONG WINDED, BUT NOT STUPID TO THE WHATS GOING ON….MOST OF YOU ARE YOUNG DUMB AND LOOKING TO GET SOMETHING FOR NOTHING…FINE GO TO WAL MART N GET IT FOR 200, THIS SALE AINT ABOUT THE EXHIBIT TWO I TERMS OF VALUE…..WHILE YOU’RE AT WAL MART LOOK LONG FOR THE GALAXY S2 ON THE SHELF WAITING FOR YOUR CHEAP 30 OFF CONTRACT DESIRES IT AINT HAPPENING….ALL VALUE CUSTOMERS GET A LINE OF CREDIT CALLED AN EIP TO DEFER COST AND PAY OUT OVER TIME….YES THE TMO PRICE IS MORE BECAUSE TMO AINT F’N WALMART…DOPES!!!!

        • CAPSdoesn’tmakeyoucool

Your a complete idiot. For $60 you can get a Unlimited Monthly 4G plan which includes 2GB of 4G service. If someone purchased the Exhibit 2 from Walmart for $200 and used it on that plan they are are save $100 on the phone plus a few dollars on taxes each and every month. Essentially they are getting the same price as the Value plan but with no contract and a cheaper phone.

        • Daddym469

Correction, you could buy the higher end phones through wall mart off contract on a new contract, for a price way higher than t mobile would sell it for.
EXAMPLE, THE GALAXY S2 PHONE ONLY PRICE IS 619.99. THAT’S NO DEAL, OR DISCOUNT AND EVEN IF YOU COULD ACTIVATE IT ON THE PREPAID PLAN AT WALMART, THAT PLAN ONLY OFFERS THE FIRST 100MB ONLY AT FULL 4G SPEED! MY POINT IS, YOU CAN’T WHAT YOU CAN GET ON A CONTRACT PLAN ON A PREPAID PLAN. IF THAT WAS SO NOBODY WOULD TAKE THE VALUE PLAN. SO THAT SUPER SPEEDY NEW PHONE AFTER 2 SONG DOWNLOADS WILL OPERATE AT 2 OR 3GG SPEED….ITS ALL ABOUT THE NETWORK….ALL I’M HEARING IS MOST OF YOU WANT AN AMAZE FOR FREE OR A GS2 AT HALF PRICE..IT AINT HAPPENING…THE VALUE PLAN COST AND FEATURES ARE PRETTY HARD TO BEAT….UNDERSTAND WHAT THE OFFER IS BEFORE YOU DRAW DUMB CONCLUSIONS.

        • Huh NO Thanks

If you stop writing in all CAPS and stop calling people names and grow up, people will listen to you, until then, no.

      • Deeg

One thing you said is wrong. ANY TMOBILE PHONE (SINCE YOU LOVE CAPS) can be activated on PREPAID.  If you’re contract has expired and you have an expensive phone you like you can just call Tmobile and shift to a prepaid plan and they’ll port your number over.  So the logic doesnt make sense.  And that has been confirmed by numerous Tmobile employees -any Tmobile phone can be used on prepaid. (They market certain handsets but any phone can be used…I had a ‘contract handset’ and called Tmobile and just shifted to a prepaid plan – and it was actually a post here that said you could do that after the Tmo reps told me that was impossible and you had to buy a new phone  or a new sim card…

  • Deeg

They should have something on the website where you can put the plan you want and the phone, and it will calculate your prices…try to make it less confusing for customers.  This is another cluster f…  And I don’t know about you, but  I haven’t seen a single TV commercial for this sale, and I have the TV on in the background all the time.  And they also haven’t emailed or texted me – an existing customer- about the plan.  So again, as far as Im concerned, marketing is falling down on the job. Its like the Value Sale a few months ago – if I hadn’t logged on here, I wouldn’t even know about it

    • Drew

I’ve seen ONE commercial last night… heard the one on the radio yesterday. So much for that push. What on earth are they gonna do for Black Friday??

  • JadedNYer

Can some one please explain the rate plans that are required. This blurb say $79.99 unlimited talk, text, and web plan but wouldn’t that be for the 1000 minute family value plan. Am I missing something or is it a misprint?

    • JadedNYer

OK. I see where I made my mistake.

  • http://twitter.com/Mupsycho Enrique Almaguer

why did they bump the Galaxy S II to $599.99?! That doesn’t make sense, or did they not want to make it come out as free downpayment after rebate?

  • Thismainevent

Weights and measures should deem this one as creating a sense of urgentcy to buy on this one..the sale is bulls!t !

  • http://twitter.com/jamesdax James Matthews

Too bad they aren’t including the Springboard in this sale.

  • What What Tmo oh no

They increased the prices on the high end phones so you save much less than they make you think you save. Old trick in sales. I’m not buying!!!!

  • Ruiz

I don’t want to go to work tomorrow. :(

  • Vinhbanh1234

question for the employees…can we put the down payment onto my phone bill?

    • Employee

      no

  • Vim

As others have already noted, it looks like they inflated the prices of the Amaze by $40 and the Galaxy S II by $70 so they could then pretend to give bigger discounts then they actually are.  It’s annoying when corporations pull stunts like this, treating their customers like they’re stupid.

    • http://www.thenorthernrepublic.info Puffpet

…you save $100 on the HTC Amaze.

Regular price on the Equipment Installment Plan would be $510.
      510 = (15*18)+260

On Magenta Saturday, you only pay $410.
      410 = (20*18)+50

      • Vim

Yep, the Amaze discount is mostly real, only $40 of the $150 rebate is fake. I just don’t see why they couldn’t be a little more honest and call it a $110 MIR instead of a $150 one.

      • Billy

Don’t forget the new line activation fee.  Required for FULL rebate.

      • Billy

  • omar222

I pay 70 for 1000 family min (2 lines). $20 Each line for 5gb. and 15 for unlimeted family text. we never go over our plan. would any of these value plans be cheaper?

  • Anonymous

I think I’m still going for the Amaze, even with the markup I still save $110 which isn’t bad. Second device will probably be Sidekick for the sibling or Mytouch Slide to save more money overall

    • Pennypincher879092

If you want to save money, keep your old phone! Your money stays in your pocket – the ONLY way to save.

  • JamesCarter3435

I’m calling in sick tomorrow this is the WORST promotion ever… T-Mobile must think the customers are idiots this isn’t a sale in anyway… in-fact they raised the prices on several phones. Deutsche Telekom doesn’t care and not its becoming apparent that T-Mobile USA has adopted the same attitude.

    • ivan

if you look at the Galaxy S II. the price before the sale is 529.99, for the sale, after rebate the price of the phone is 479.99. and downpayment of the phone dropped. Thats 50$ cheaper, and you as an employee should know that any discount on value plans is not permitted. sooo for 80$ a month it includes a galaxy s II. and on the 20th month it drops to $60. on a classic the phone is 229.99 after rebate and your plan is $80 for the full 24 months. Yeah BAAAD promotion

      • Socsoccer

You do realize that these deals require you to pay extra $ on the side right? For Samsung Galaxy ll its extra 20 payments of $20 aside of the plan. Look on TMobile site in the small * writing

        • ReadingForContent

umm, pretty sure do they realize that. That’s why they say the monthly bill is $80 for 20 months then drops to $60.

      • Billy

Regular price $599.99 per the website fine print.

    • Anonymous

Because you dont like making money? Last sale wasnt all that great and our store did tons of activations. I cant wait to go in tomorrow.

  • Chris Casteel

I’ve come to the conclusion that 90% of the commenters on this site are complete idiots. Not a clue how MATH works…

  • Bklynman

Bottom line,if you are under cont.if you don’t mind being on cont.(like me,at least when I call crs,
I will take care by someone in The USA!) You get nothing! In other words this is no real sale at all!
Everyone that on prepaid and value plans, enjoy your 10mins or more wait until someone pick up
from another country, doesn’t have clue what you are talking about!

    • ivan

your here complaining about people not being in the USA and look at all your incorrect grammar.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_YZSGPTCVUF36AELBGRBYYRHWKI private

        you’re*

      • Bklynman

Am not complaining, people have written on this blog, how long they have waited for someone from crs,to pickup that have prepaid or value plans. The have also stated
that when they do pickup,it someone from a call center from another country.
People are under contract have little no wait time until they pick up,the crs person is always from The USA.

  • tmoemployee

and i am yet another tmo employee who is dreading going to work tomorrow. we have the entire staff scheduled because our manager somehow thinks we will be busy. she must not have learned anything from the last two terrible promotions.

    • dothemath

Its not your manager…its company mandated all hands

  • Anonymous

This is not the whole list. Its just an example. The LG myTouch and myTouch Q are $250 with a $50 MIR. $0 net down payment and 20 payments of $10 making the phone $200 instead of the $279 it is normally

The real deal is on the phones that they didnt jack the prices up on. like the galaxy s 4g, the hd7, and g2x. Best deal in the store is the Radar. you get $50 off and a $100 trade in credit. you pay $100 and get $150 back

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_LWGFHMNVLNZC66HOLUM6EYX6RI Waha

Question… Do you have to renew your contract on this for 2 years? I just switched over to the value plans a month ago so I’m pretty much locked in for 2 years. Does that mean I would have to extend it to 4? That would sound really ridiculous if yes… Would I still be eligible for this as long as I am in the qualified rate plan?

    • ncy

It extends 2 years from today.

    • Billy

Also requires a new line activation, if you’re thinking of wanting to qualify for FULL rebate.

    • Billy

Also requires a new line activation, if you’re thinking of wanting to qualify for FULL rebate.

  • Tenure0101

The rate plan it requires is $79.98 and requires a 2GB data. Does that mean the minimum plan to get this deal is actually the family plan of 49.99 (x2)? Which means you cannot get the 1000 Minutes + Unlimted Text + 2GB data?

  • Chewbacca

just got out of work…what a fn joke…..i knew this going in but really!! ………………really!!………..really??

the value plan is a complete cluster eff and today I had to explain (confuse) the shite out of every customer….more customers left because they knew this was a sham…fraud!! debauchary!!

instead of trying sooo hard to be different, have a classic rate pan..have monthly 4g and THATS IT!!

no other company does this tom foolery…stop giving the customers multiple scenerios that confuse the customer.

    • dothemath

Be better at your job….if youre good you should kill it with value…I do
