And It’s Official…T-Mobile Announces November 19th Value Plan Sale

Note: The above list of smartphones and tablets is just a sample list and doesn’t include all applicable devices on sale.

And it’s official, T-Mobile has just announced their November 19th Value Plan sale. Having just posted this info, T-Mobile has now broken it all down inside a press release. Rather than re-hash what was just posted two hours ago, we’ll just direct your attention back to that post or the press release below for all the details:

T-Mobile to Hold “Magenta Saturday” Sale With Smartphones and Tablets for as Little as $0–$49.99 Net Down

On Nov. 19, T-Mobile will help holiday shoppers escape the dark lines of Black Friday and help them step up to data and the smartphone revolution with minimal upfront cost.

For one day only, consumers will have the opportunity to purchase any smartphone or select mobile broadband device, including two featured tablets ― the Dell Streak 7 or T-Mobile G-Slate ― for a net down payment of $49.99 (U.S.) or less after a mail-in rebate card.

New customers will be eligible for this deal when they sign up for a qualifying two-year agreement on any of the company’s Unlimited Value™ plans with 2GB or higher of full-speed data, all running on America’s Largest 4G Network. Existing customers also have the opportunity to take advantage of this great offer if they are eligible for upgrade (18 months tenure or greater) and switch from a Classic to an eligible Value plan.

an extra 20 a month??? WTF .. I thought the most you have to pay is an extra 15 .. that brings the plan to the same cost as a classic plan.

  • Jaygqitalia

Ok lets rephrase this. I always thought the most they charged you for the installment plan was 15 dollars for the high end phone. Paying 20 a month brings the price you pay to the same price as a classic plan. Is this new?

  • http://twitter.com/MrDavis_ Michael Davis

Seems like T-Mobile has all but forgot about the people with regular contracts and are really pushing these so-called “Value” plans

    • Deeg

      And pushing prepaid

  • Nick

Man these plans are for suckers.  $450 for an Amaze over 20 months.  Really, it could cost as much as $600 if you forget to mail in your rebate card.  No thank you.

    • Ryan

Just do the math.  You’re paying that much or more for the Amaze on the Classic plan.

      • Miro

exactly, the margin for the subsidized phone is built into classic, you still pay for it it just looks like a higher priced classic plan and higher priced data plan than Value plans

        • Frigadroid

For tmobile charter members we get all the loyalty discounts and 5 Gb data on classic. So even 15 months in I would lose money with migration fees if I switch to value now. I wish they had a sale for us to consider a contract but I guess since they can’t get the top phones the focus is on prepay now :(

      • Nick

Actually, no I’m not.  With my rate plan I’m paying basically the same amount for the same data & minutes.  Oh, but I didn’t pay $450 or more for my phone.

    • Miro

so don’t forget to mail the rebate card?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_HXYTLRJX7BCRW3YFLBRCFL7SKQ mirza

Retail price for Galaxy s2 right now is 529.99 in t-mobile stores
The “sale” price of the same phone at November 19th:
    20.00×24= 480     480+49.99= 529.99
Am i missing anything or what?

    • Oldj

It’s for 20 months, you only save 80 dollars going with the rebate and you’re stuck with an unlimited plan if you originally didn’t want it..

      • PatheticLoser

Seriously though, who doesn’t do unlimited these days? People piss away minutes. They’re meaningless. I think there’s a $10 difference between the unlimited plan and the limited minute plan. You’re not paying for minutes anymore anyways. You’re paying for data.

    • Jaygqitalia

      20 months. Not 24

    • Buttons

But with a $150 rebate card.

    • Danny

      It’s 20 monthly payments, so $400 plus 49.99 = 449.99

    • Joelsky

I think it should only be $20×22 months not 24.

    • Mopar6464

Your math is wrong , EIP is for 20 months.
      20.00X20=400.00

    • zacamandapio

Your math is correct.  You’re just using wrong information.

    • anfrey

wow, i guess t-mobile is raising their prices for their “sale” … SGS2 on the sale page is priced at $599.99 rather than the $529.99 it is now…. sneaky.

  • Cyclone

They also charge tax on $20 monthly payment.

    • dozer

No they don’t you pay taxes up front for the device.

    • Anonymous

      Wrong.

  • TMoMe

As a TMo employee… honestly… this sucks. Way to go TMo… another crappy sale. Would rather have the day off.

    • Anonymous

Take the day off and give the sales to someone else. My store saw 21 new post paid contracts last sale. We average 3 a day normally

    • PatheticLoser

Agree with Pete here. Take the day off or better yet quit. Your team is probably better without you. My store saw double digit increases in Activations during the last event.

  • Oldj

This isn’t even a sale, this is just a way for T-Mobile to trick their customers into believing they have gotten a good deal…

  • JadedNYer

Looking at this chart one could reasonably conclude that T-Mobile got with program and the upfront price of the Bold will be 199.

  • IMAD

Boo-urns! Hopefully T-Mobile does something worthwhile on Black Friday for it’s “Classic” plan customers. Last year’s BOGO deal was nice, but what if I don’t want to add an extra line and just want an upgrade for myself? Show me free Galaxy S II’s!!!

  • Anonymous

    For Galaxy S2.

Ok, if we were to compare to the classic plan with data and text. 500 minutes + unlimited text + 2GB web = 70/month. You can buy the phone for $200. Over 24 months= (70×24)+200= $1880

    The equivalent value plan = $50/month. THe phone is $50 (down payement) + $20×20= 450. Total over 24 months= (50×24)+ 450= $1650.

  • RansZ28

As I am on the Classic plan, its a $600 fee to switch to the Value Plan.  Thats CRAZY

    • Miro

well of course if you’re under contract under Classic it’s going to have a fee, those phones aren’t discounted for nothing

    • Thomas Brezinski

I’m guessing that $600 is to switch more then one line which you just got less then a year ago.

  • BP

After seeing this, let’s just tap out and submit to AT&T now.

  • Thomas Brezinski

Why does it not surprise me that yet again no one seems to do the math that this is still a good deal.

Take the Amaze 4G which retails for $559.99.

    Classic 2GB Unlimited at $79.99 / month
    Phone after rebates = $259.99
    Total Classic Cost = $2179.75

    Value 2GB Unlimited at$ 59.99 / month
    $199.99 down – $150 rebate = $49.99
    EIP $20 for 20 months = $400
    Total Value Cost = $1889.75

Value plan just saved you $290 over the Classic plan!  What are you all complaining about?

    • Thomas Brezinski

Just to compare go to Verizon, pick say a Droid Bionic for $249.99 with 2 yr contract.

      Phone after rebates = $249.99
      Unlimited Voice = $69.99 / month
      Unlimited Text = $20 / month
2 GB Data (4GB right now due to promo) = $30 / month
      Total Verizon Cost = $3129.75

Why would I pay $1240 more over 2 yrs to be on Verizon?

      • zacamandapio

No matter how you break it down people are always going to complain.  Just let them be.  If they start giving the phones away with a $50.00/month plan they will still complain.

        • I<3Tmo

Yup, not really looking forward to working this Saturday LOL… Can’t wait for all the customers I activated the last couple of days to come yell and accuse me of ripping them off, not informing them of the sale, wanting to cancel because of the other 2 reasons… AWESOME!

        • Guest

I wish I had requested off before this was announced. I wanted to head down to Miami rather than deal with some of the “brilliant” customers who come to my store.

        • Realcool2000

Exactly, they would be like “oh those fools giving me a free phones, if they were smart, they would give me a free gas card and a years supply of budwieser, yeah that’s what I want…f them for givin free phones”hahhahhahahahha

      • ogopogo

So that they can continue to build out on their spotty LTE network.

Vz sucks (pricing and LTE coverage)
        Sprint sucks (coverage)
At&t sucks the worst (coverage, pricing, customer service, ethics), plus if you stand too close to an At&t tower, it will make you bald and impotent.

    • Oldj

The problem is that you’re locked into a Unlimited Value plan, that and it’s not THAT great of a deal, considering you save anywhere from $100 to $50. I’m not complaining about the whole thing, just saying this could have been better. They really didn’t need to jack up the EIP, and should have kept the prices the same way they were at Retail and then apply MIR’s.

      • Stop Crying Already

The EIPs are up because they lowered the down payment prices of the phone as well. So still in the end you still pay the same.

        • Oldj

We already know this… The difference is 80 dollars after consideration from MIR.

    • anfrey

wasn’t the amaze 4g priced at $560 when it launched? and the sgs2 priced at $530? i’m surprised they’ve both gone up to $600 now.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/James-Matthews/100000189923615 James Matthews

Too bad the T-Mobile version to the Streak 7 isn’t getting Honeycomb.  I would have picked it up otherwise.  Oh well.

Edit: OK I’m confused. Dell is currently selling a WiFi/4G streak 7 with honeycomb but the T-Mobile branded Streak 7 won’t be upgraded to honeycomb? WTF?

  • 123

    yawn….

    • Realcool2000

      Just keep ur mouth open…..

  • Antoinae101

So if I buy the g slate if will be $10 a month for 20 months so total is $250 including the $50 down payment. Then do I get A $250 mail in rebate and end up paying nothing or do I pay the $500 and get the rebate and pay $250?

    • Thomas Brezinski

You pay $300 up front, get $250 of that back via mail in rebate.  It’s $50 down net (aka after rebate).  And then pay $10 a month for 20 months.  So in the end you pay $50 + (20 x $10) = $290.

  • Jaygqitalia

Take into account taxs and everything. You will be paying more upfront than it shows. Just be prepared if you go in the store to buy something

  • BigMixxx

    …….WTF T mobile….
This was not the right choices the first time, and won’t be the right choices this time.  The stores will be empty…again….not good…

C’mon…I know t mobile can do better than this.  Completely disappointing….

    My Point here…
If a customer can’t understand what they are paying for and your staff has to explain it, it turns the customer off.  You limit your staff’s ability to sell.  Hell, I don’t understand it….when you can go to walmart, costco and get the same phone with the same 2 year commitment and pay the same price.

If i need an abacus to make sure my cost savings are right…I don’t need it.  It’s driving away potential customers.

Where is the ( BigMixxx theoretical starts here)  Get the amaze for 199 on sale now, “America’s Fastest Phone” get the “Powerful Sumsung Galaxy S II” wave activation fees….

I mean, get them in the store and sell them something is the objective.  Getting them in the store and confusing the living hell out of them is just not right…

    • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/35HLVJSI34LMH5M274SCGWDZBY mike

And, ONLY for Value plan customers, um didn’t this plan just start with a sale not long ago and alot of people are in brand new contracts?

    • Guest

Have to admit he’s right. To the average person, this is too confusing. Just discount the freaking phone straight up and maybe even lower the monthly plan cost. Make it easy to understand, not all this Value Plan goobly-gook.

  • Miro

not a bad promo actually. My calculations show me that  Value 1000 Family plan (no text) with 2 GSII and 2GB data, plus 2×1.61 fcc fee plus 20% Florida cell phone tax plus 6% sales tax comes to $2820.2828 over 24 months assuming dilligence submitting the rebate. Classic 1000 would be $3252,2828 … $432 savings over 24 months. No rebate it’s still $132 less. But you still have to deal with ETF fees

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_YDISAEGNUWEJZVWYWA5NQH3W4A Jason

if you wanna upgrade your phone, you are better off going to bestbuy.com….NO FRILLS

  • Rmellnhead

This sucks you have to go with the unlimited plans. It should be on any of their Value plans

    • Oldj

I feel that way too. I think it’s so they can make some of the money they give off as MIR back

  • Ltgisabeachbum

Like i said, this is dumb. You might save $50 bucks on the phone vs buying it outright, if you ever get your mail in rebate.. and your locked in for two years. Go buy the phone outright for $500 bucks and get on a monthly4g plan. And once again, why the heck does t-mobile charge $350 bucks for the exhibit ii 4g. Its $200 at Walmart and amazon. Just go buy that phone, its dual core, its 480×800 pixels, its all you really need.

    • XXXP

the exhibit II is 279 full price. Where are you getting 350?

  • Dipshit8675309

So instead of paying $229 for the Galaxy S II, I’m gonna pay $50, but an extra $5/month for 20 months. In essence, I’m saving $80 over the life of a two year contract or $3.33/month.

T-mobile execs: suck my balls and give me a real incentive.

    • Anonymous

The Galaxy S II is $560 full retail price.  Typically with T-Mobile now you pick to have either a discounted phone (classic plans) or discounted plan (value plans).  With this sale you get a discounted phone AND discounted plan.  Simple math buddy, simple math.

      • Dipshit8675309

The full retail price is $529. Under this “sale,” you do get a discounted phone, but the plan is increased by $5/line for 20 months. I need a family plan for my wife and I. Instead of paying $130/month for 20 months, I will now be paying $140/month for 20 months.  At $140/month for 2 lines, it isn’t that much cheaper than Verizon. Like I said in my original post, you save $80/line over the span of 24 months. So, if you are itching to save $3 and change a month per line, then you will be at a T-mobile store first thing in the morning on Nov 19th.

        • Ptrk421

obviously you havent looked at verizon plans recently. I priced for one line with 450 mins with 2gb web and was already at 130 or so before I said screw it. so no way you are paying 140 for two lines,

        • Realcool2000

Yeah that guy has to lie just to pretend to make a point.dips*&%$…..I mean his post name says all u need to know bout him

    • Realcool2000

What the heck do u want a phone for free and a cheaper plan. Maybe u should just go to a carrier that just charges more for plans, phones and data maybe that is better in your twisted little mind.

Tmo has a better price plan than anyone else, this Saturday they will offer better pricing on phones for the better priced plan…..this causes you to tell the tmo execs to give u a real incentive…..

You should just be thankful for an opportunity to have a good service for a better price than the other carriers and stop complaining about better prices like a fool.

      • Ommpaloompa

i dont care about the consumer side of it….i want a real sale so i can boost my numbers and boost my commision

    • Plankton

      Inappropriate Language FOOL!

David, how bout some monitoring with the iphone of yours.

  • http://profiles.google.com/toonces282002 Eric Youngdale

Well, I am not eligible until the 23rd, so this doesn’t do squat for me..

  • DADDYM469

OK, FOR ALL OF YOU OUT THERE WONDERING WHAT THE “DEAL” IS, IF ANY.
First of all this sale to my understanding will include new and existing VALUE PLAN customers!
If you are not on the Value plan, please stop analyzing or criticizing the sale. Most if not ALL Value Plan customers are former Even More Plus customer(unless you’re a new sign up.)
There is only one main distinction between Value and Classic is the the pricing structure, for both the and the device purchase itself. I am a Value customer and ALL Value customers know we pay full price for new phones in exchange for much cheaper core services!! IT’S THAT SIMPLE.

SO THE FOLLOWING EXAMPLE MAY HELP THOSE IN CONFUSION(AND I DON’T WORK  FOR T MOBILE!!)  Ok, The Gs2 is currently $ 529.99. A value customer today here in Texas (where I live) would pay this, $ 229.99 of that 529.99 as the current down payment. The remaining $300 would be deferred via the EIP or equipment Installment plan, $15.00 for 20 months. The taxes will be added at the time of purchase. You will NOT be paying taxes on just the 229.99, but the full amount of $529.99, in Dallas Texas the tax rate is 8.25%. So if you add that to the 529.99, you get $573.71. Again Value Plans Memebers pay the full price, but the eip is there to help with the purchase.
    Now that 229.99 is actually $ 273.71!

Saturdays pricing appears to have been tweaked and adjusted to compensate for the Rebate and end pricing, this is where it gets tricky…Saturday the same Galaxy S2 may have been increased in price along with the Amaze. If the net end price won’t exceed $49.99 and the rebate value is $150.00, then factor in the EIP rate of $20 for 20 months, you should get a $400 eip vs the current $300 only deal.
So to really make ths appear to be a deal they have allowed an additional $ 100 to be used via eip….BUT WAIT A MINUTE!! ANY REBATE OFFER IS COVERED AT FACE VALUE, SO THAT MEANS THE 529.99 gS2 WILL BE $599.99 AND THE LOCAL TAX AND ITS $649.48, REMOVE THE 400 GOING TO EIP AND SATURDAY THAT $273.71 HAS BEEN SLIGHTLY REDUCED TO $249.48 TAXES INCLUDED. aSSUMING YOU RETURN THE REBATE CARD, IN THE END YOU STILL PAID,$499.48.
ITS WRONG THAT THEY DIDN’T OFFER THE $400 EIP FOR $20 on the current MSRP.
Even stll, after taxes and recieving the rebate the savings for the gs2 here in dallas would actually be, $74.23! HOPE THIS HELPED SOMEBODY.

    • Guest

Yeah, this really makes me want to rush out Saturday and buy a TMO phone. That and a bottle of Advil for the headache I’ll have trying to figure this all out. HEY, Carly Cutie…just reduce the price of the phone and maybe slice $5 off the monthly plan cost. KISS, Keep It Simple Sweetheart.

      • Daddym469

I don’t get what you were attempting to say, but what I said is what it is! Saturday is a deal, depending on what you want.

        • Ommpaloompa

i work there and its not a deal

  • Cashman

Once again, what about the millions of people who are currently on the CLASSIC rate plan. T-Mobile is once again forgetting about all the people who have been loyal customers and don’t mind paying a little extra monthly to get a discounted handset.

    • CRT24

People on classic plans can take advantage if they have less than 6 months remaining on their contract. Value plans are a lower cost to begin with but this sale will make it an even better value if you switch to value from classic and take advantage of this sale. Even if t-Mobile only offered classic plans you would not be able to take advantage of special phone pricing unless you were 18 months or more into your contract. Most people are better off switching to value even if they have to pay the 50.00 migration fee and some even if they have to pay the 100.00 migration fee…..we have customers do this every day because the savings outweigh the initial cost.

  • Anonymous

I don’t know if anyone else read this but this is NOT a deal!!! Look at the amaze 4g for example. You pay $200 down, get $150 back and then pay 20 monthly payments of $20. That means you are paying after rebate AND a 2 year contract $450 for a “subsidized” phone! Unless these are misprints, the prices on these phones is ridiculous.

    • anon

its NOT a subsidized phone. thats the point of the value plan. get it? if you want a “subsidized” phone then you can get a classc plan.

Classic plan = Subsidized phone / regular plan
Value plan = Full price phone / subsidized plan

      • Anonymous

Yes, that would be why I put the post right after it that said never mind I missed the Value Plan part.

    • B’more

      you are right

  • Anonymous

Disregard. I didn’t see it was for Value plan. Now I understand.

  • Plankton

what moron would buy a phone at this point that wont work in 6 months?

    really!

do you fools think that ATT will swap out you new purchase gratis?

P.S. this deal bites. I might as well buy an iphone at full price

  • Anonymous

    RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP OFFFFFFFFFFFFFf

T-Mobile needs to get it together. This “sale” is embarrassing. Meanwhile they’re offering the Galaxy S 2 to customers that have already switched for free.

  • Travelinbruin

The price of the Samsung Galaxy S2 has been raised $70….it used to be $529.99, now with this “sale”, it is $599.99 retail plus tax minus $150 rebate card so in reality you save around $75 after all is said and done.  It is still $75 saved but not as advertised.

  • DADDYM469

Here is an example that may SOME of you to better get the object of the sale. This sale will actually make ANY PHONE LOWER IN PRICE! IT;S THE MATH FORMULA MOST OF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND.
THE SALE IS FOR VALUE CUSTOMERS, NOT PREPAID OR CLASSIC MEMBERS. IF YOU WERE  ON VALUE AS A POSTPAID CUSTOMER, YOU ALREADY KNOW WE PAY THE FULL PRICE OF THE PHONE. THIS SALE BY WAY OF THE EIP AND MIR. WILL MAKE THE PHONE CHEAPER AS LONG AS YOU FOLLOW THE PROMOTION RIGHT. SOME PHONES HAVE BEEN MADE HIGHER AND SOME CHEAPER TO REDUCE THE END PRICE AFTER REBATE. EXAMPLE, The mytouch 4g slide currently sells for $ 499.99. A value customer would pay $199.99 down plus the local taxes on the full amount of $499.99. Here in Dallas that would be $41.25 added to the $199.99. Now total walk out price would be, $241.24. On saturday the same phone HAS BEEN REDUCED TO 449.99 BEFORE TAXES. SO NOW IT WOULD BE 49.99 DOWN PLUS 100$ for the rebate and add the taxes on the $449.99. THAT AMOUNT HERE WOULD BE,$37.12
THE FORMULA IS THE MYTOUCH 4G SLIDE SATURDAY IS:
    49.99 DOWN
PLUS YOU WOULD COVER THAT REBATE IN CASH UPFRONT FOR,
$100.00, THEN ADD ON THE TAXES OF 37.12
THE MYTOUCH SATURDAY IS NOW, $187.11 COMPARED TO $ 241.24 BEFORE SATURDAY.
THAT OTHER $300 THE TOTAL $487.11 WILL BE PAID OUT IN 20 MONTHS FOR 15$ A MONTH.
FINALLY…THE DEAL LIES IN THE REBATE!!!! YOUR NEW MYTOUCH 4G AFTER YOU RECEIVE YIUR REBATE WILL BE $387.11!!!! THATS A CONSIDERABLE SAVINGS IF THIS IS THE PHONE YOU WANT. REMEMBER IT REALLY COMES DOWN TO WHAT YOU WANT, THE DEAL IS THERE IS YOU GET THE DARN REBATE BACK!

    • b’more

the monthly payment adds up, at the end of the day you are better off buying the phone outright outside t-mobile and adding any plan you feel like adding . …….do the maths

      • Daddym469

You like so many others still dont understand how the value plan works. ANYONE ON THE VALUE KNOWS WE DO NOT GET PHONE UPGRADES LIKE A CLASSIC CUSTOMER WOULD. VALUE WOULD RATHER PAY LESS FOR AIRTIME AND DATA THAN BEING ABLE TO OWN A $500 PHONE FOR $200. THAT’S WHY IT’S CALLED “CLASSIC”, BECAUSE IT REPRESENTS THE OLD WAY OF BUYING NEW HANDSETS.
FYI, VALUE CUSTOMERS RECEIVE A LINE OF CREDIT PER LINE TO BE USED FOR NEW PHONES……REPEAT THAT OVER AND OVER UNTIL YOU GET IT! THE VALUE CUSTOMER PAYS A LOT LESS FOR AIRTIME AND DATA AND FULL PRICE FOR ANY PHONE OF INTEREST. THIS IS WHY SATURDAY IS WORTHWHILE BECAUSE THE OBJECT IS TO SEE WHATS THE BEST VALUE AFTER THE REBATE. THIS SALE IS COMPLETELY BUILT AROUND THE REBATE OFFER….PLEASE STOP LOOKING FOR ANY OTHER REASON. THEY ARE EVEN CHANGING THE RETAIL PRICES OF SOME PHONES TO COINCIDE WITH THE END PRICE BEING LOWERED. READ MY EXAMPLES, THE TRUTH IS THERE….IM ON VALUE AND I GET IT GET IT PERFECTLY!

  • Willie

Why not just pay the early termination after u get the rebate in 1-2 months. Then switch it to monthly prepaid.

  • Clueless

Guys i have a problem. My dad and i just bought two smartphones. And i didnt know about the sale. Are we still eligible to get the mail in rebates? Coz my dad’s phone broke down and we were both eligible for upgrades. He needed the phone and got it asap. What would be the logical thing to do? Thanks…

If u just bought them then take advantage of the return policy and threaten to return them until they give give in give u the sale price. It will save them time and all the extra work

This is not a sale, but it is a good marketing strategy, my advise is read well, calculate well and figure it out.
    Good Luck

Ok, so, right now I can buy a Galaxy II for $230 total after rebate/discounts at the T-mobile website, but on Saturday, I can buy the same phone for $450 after rebate/discounts?? Am I missing something? Does T-mobile think I can’t do math. I could love to be proven wrong on this because I would like this phone, but really?

    • http://tmonews.com David

You pay $20 more per month on your rate plan then.

      • Bajamin

except with the addition per month phone cost (to pay off the remaining balance) it;s not that big of a price difference. I think it averages out to about 3-5$ per month.

I’ve been on a value plan since September and have had the same phone for going on 3 years and due for an upgrade badly! Is this sale on Saturday for new customers only or can existing value customers benefit from this?

  • El

Do they modify the contract for this promotion? I still say paying the ETF and canceling service after u get the rebate makes it a steal. Then just pay month to month. Any thoughts?

    • Daddym469

Dumb dumb dumb, idea! You took the value plan for the plan pricing. Buying a new phone has nothing to do with the plan itself. YOU ARE BUYING THE PHONE AT FULL PRICE….WHY IS EVERYONE SO HELL BENT ON MAKING THIS SALE SO DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND…..
ON SATURDAY YOU WILL PAY FOR TWO THINGS!! YOU WILL BE PAYING THE TAX RATE ON THE FULL AMOUNT LISTED ON THE DEVICE YOU CHOOSE. SECOND, YOU WILL ADD THAT AMOUNT TO THE DOWN PAYMENT, THEN ADD IN THE REBATE AMOUNT AT FACE VALUE.
      GS2 SATURDAY WILL BE $599.99
      TAX    8.25%(WHERE I LIVE) =$49.49
ON SATURDAY THE EQIUPMENT INSTALLMENT PLAN FOR THIS PHONE AND THE AMAZE
WILL COVER $400 OF THE 599.99(THIS IS WHERE MOST OF YOU CRINGE
OUT OF POCKET YOU WILL PAY THE $199.99 DIFFERENCE PLUS THE TAX OF 49.49
SATURDAY, YOUR GS2 OR AMAZE IS NOW:$249.48

TECHINCALLY, YOU JUST AGREED TO PAY$649.48 FOR THE PHONE…AND YOU DID BASED ON THE INCREASE IN THE RETAIL, BUT REMEMBER THE EIP COVERED THE 400$ FOR 20$ A MONTH FOR 2O MONTHS.
IN THE END THE VALUE HERE IS ONCE YOU RECEIVE THAT REBATE FOR $150,
YOU SUBTRACT THAT $ 150 FROM THE 649.48.
NOW YOU END COST FOR THE PHONE AT COMPLETION OF THE INSTALLMENTS IS,
$499.48. THE SAVING OVERALL IS ABOUT $225, BECAUSE THE GS2 @UMA_Fan:disqus  THE 529.99 PRICE WITH 229 DOWN +TAXES ON THE 529 IS ABOUT 573$ THE YOU FACTOR IN THE REBATE CARD IS GOOD AS CASH FOR $ 150. YOU DO COME OUT ON TOP AS LONG AS YOU GET THE REBATE BACK. THIS TYPE OF SELL IS DESIGNED TO BUILD UP CASH IN THE HOPES YOU WANT PROCESS THE REBATE. LIKE THIS IF REALLY GET IT NOW, AND I DO NOT WORK FOR T MOBILE I JUST UNDERSTAND WHAT I’M PAYING FOR.

      • Daddym469

I NEED TO CORRECT MYSELF, YOU WILL NOT BE PAYING THE FACE VALUE AMOUNT OF THE REBATE. WHAT I MEANT WAS IN THE CASE OF THE SGS2 AND AMAZE, YOU WILL PAY THE DIFFERENCE OF THE FINANCED AMOUNT. THE GS2 AND AMAZE WILL BOTH BE ELIGIBLE TO PAY 400$ OVER 20 MONTHS   20$ A MONTH. YOU WILL PAY THE 199 PLUS THE TAX ON THE 599.99.
IN THE END GAME THE 150$ rebate will make make your net down payment $49.99.

T-MO….come out with a real sale, not this bait and switch crap…I need to boost up my numbers and boost my commision

“T-Mobile to Hold “Magenta Saturday” Sale With Smartphones and Tablets for as Little as $0–$49.99 Net Down”
I don’t think too many people care about net down, when will there be s sale with a gross amount down? Why can’t the faithful T-Mobile members be rewarded for maintaining? You still have to pay that full amount then wait for a while to get that rebate card! Members to T-Mobile, take care of us better!!! This is NOT a sale!

    • Abolds4397

I mean, when will there be a sale with a gross amount down?

  • El

The idea is to get a phone as cheap as possible. Tax on the device is unavoidable so that is not the main issue. Neither is the plan price. Only addressing the the retail price and the “sale ” discount then I believe the cheapest way is to agree to the promotion and wait til you receive the $150 rebate so you essentially paid $50 down. Assume it takes 2 months til you receive the rebate so that will be $40 in installment payments. AFTER U get the rebate then terminate the contract and pay the $200 early termination fee ( rather than paying monthlyinstallments $20x 20 months which equals $400).

    In the end you pay:
    $50 down

    $40 in phone installments

    $200 early termination fee
    =. $290. Now that’s a deal!
