where did you see it has wifi calling?

      • Anonymous

        ikr it does

    • boss315

get me a way around that and then i’ll get one.

    • Ryetak7

It comes with wi fi calling. This and the amaze need a black sim card in the box to use wi fi calling.

  • mhtruth

Do the others galaxy s2′s use qualcomm processors???

    • Bojan Gutic

No, this is the only one. The rest use Samsung’s Exynos.

    • toby

no both the Ep touch 4g and the GS2 have  Exynos processors

    • mhtruth

Then if my assumptions are right this processor is cheap like the 1 in my sensation 4g (it maxes out at 14.4 mbps due to it)… and is gonna suffer for the lack of gameloft support in the 3d processing department… looks like ill just get the international… use it on 2g n be satisfied with the real deal… n not this tmobile massacred gs2… (p.s. notice the lag when he scrolled in the settings menu)

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Paul-Reed/1530570047 Paul Reed

the sensation processor isn’t cheap..and it isn’t what is limiting the sensation to 14.4 mbps..its the modem.

      • Anonymous

It has a 42mbps chip. You won’t see 42 though.

  • JP

Doesn’t mention anything about wifi calling – What a let down.

    • toby

all tmo phones smart phones get wifi caling

    • Jabombardier

Why should they mention it when it is second nature?

  • Seanmmvi

as someone who has played with the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy SII, it would be PERFECT if it was a 4.3″ form factor and the power button was about half an inch lower… those are my ONLY gripes with it…

  • Anonymous

does the way that back cover bended worry anyone?! holy crap that thing bends!

    • Anonymous

Sammy made it like that so it won’t break.

  • Yancy

I’m assuming they have it set up like blackberry you connect to wifi and it just sends calls through wifi.

  • David Coucheron

    are you sure? ?

  • Jabombardier

It looks promising. Now to wait for the bugs to be worked out before I jump in. G2X getting buggy and now is having soft reboots frequently and having laggy episodes since the gingerbread OTA update. Wishful thinking would be that there is a firmware update to fix the lagginess.

  • Mavictb

I don’t remember the last time seven and a half minutes went by so fast… I really want this phone as an upgrade to my SGS4G and Vibrant… I want the nexus prime also but I don’t want to wait… I have another upgrade in February so get both? haha

I just fell in love with the Galaxy S II all over again.  I won’t be nearly as eager to “upgrade” to something new as I have been with this dam Vibrant.

    • J. Williams

I told you that it would impress you. Too bad this T-Mobile version has that same ugly look like the vibrants, and the back is ugly too. But, under the hood is what I like.

      • DIAMOND PRINCE

I have a vibrant and samsung 4g and i love them both but i have to agree with you on they should have made it look a lil different from thoes phones i think sprints version is the best looking one.

        • J. Williams

The Sprint version is the one I have. I got it with them, because I didn’t like this version. It is very nice too…

        • Anonymous

          You left TMobile?

        • J. Williams

No, I’ve always had a Sprint account, lol. I just didn’t want the T-Mobile version.

I think it’s the Amaze 4g for me… Though I’m nit sure if I want to hold final judgement until I get my hands on both of them…

I know I’m not the only one who noticed at 00:19–”Like the others, it’s a little thin, but once it’s in there it feels really good…” Haha

    • JQuest

      *not. Darn auto correct! Lol

    • Anonymous

I enjoy the Sensation so you should LOVE the Amaze. The additional ram versus the Sensation will make all the difference.

  • Sswicho

The only question I have is what’s the point of pre ordering it on monday if it will be at stores on wednesday?

    • phoenix

To make sure u have one in the event that the phone will sell out…and it probably will.

      • Sswicho

Probably true… I imagine you would still receive it on wednesday.

    • Raul

I talk to tmobile today n I asked her if I pre order the phone will I get it the 11th n she said yes if I choose overnight shipping.

Vibrant just killed it for me. It made me hate android. Now this phone will remain on gingerbread for ever.

    • Drew

I guess you’re still suffering from PTSD. Samsung not upgrading their phones is old news. There’s no way this device is gonna stay stuck on Gingerbread when everyone will have ICS soon. They’ve listened and fixed it. The updates have been rolling in. Just like they fixed TouchWiz and the GPS… Get over it.

      • Mjc9

        Speak 4 ur self.

      • Frigadroid

Spoken like a true samsung representative in denial. What planet have you been living on?

    • Tim_toolman

What a tool.  Use another ROM like everyone else.  Phone works great.

      • Ismethere

none of the Roms are perfect(not close either). At this point they aren’t using proper kernels and different bugs show up on every release. Until the tmo version comes out, the base is pretty weak. What tmo is doing is unexcusable too…

    • Anonymous

i completely agree, thats why im hesitant to get this phone if i do. ill probably wait for the next nexus device.

  • Anonymous

aww he should’ve done some network speed test… I want to see what the avg speed of 42mbs network…

    • J-Hop2o6

You should get 20mbps of peak.. You will NEVER reach 42mbps.

      • Anonymous

yeh, I know, I just want to see what type of speed it would hit since it’s now up to 42mbs. maybe could be comparable to verizon LTE.

      • J. Williams

Once these start to get out there, people won’t even get 20. It won’t be near it…

      • Ohgeez10

Wont be seeing speeds like LTE but the SGII and Amaze are pretty quick. Im a TMO rep and have been tinkering with both phones for a few days now. Been seeing anywhere from 10-16 mbps.  On my SG4 I could get 10-11 mbps by my house. I was really hoping to see numbers around the 20 mbps range but as  have been testing both phones out, they are pretty quick on daily usage. Picking up either one is a WIN…..I’m still having a hard time in deciding which one I want.

    • Anonymous

nah. I noticed that to. a couple of hiccups here and there.

Phone was loading at the vegining thats why u saw a bit of lag after that I saw no lag

Seems real nice. I guess I am easily impressed – I don’t see much lag or processor issues.

  • Khaddem1

nice phone. debating between Amaze 4G and this phone. My wife has the sensation 4G and it is a nice phone. I wonder if you can remove some of the pre-install apps like the other galaxy S2s on Sprint and ATT? Does this phone have notification light just like the HTC Sensation or Amaze?

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is amazing…. Super fast! I was able to see one in action…. Once I held it in my hands I could no longer stand my crappy iPhone 4…. Once it comes out I’m porting out from Verizon to T-mobile and giving my iPhone to my 10th year old to use unlocked on T-Mobile value plan add a line for $5 bucks and give him $5 200mb feature. I don’t know why I left tmo for this pos. Verizon coverage was not even slightly better where I live. It’s all just misleading marketing. T-Mobile actually works better where I live and work. Go figure.

    • Sidekicker89

wow really?? Verizon having better coverage than T-Mobile? :o That is shocking! where do you live?

    • Anonymous

You said you have a verizon iphone 4. You can’t use that on Tmobile at all.

So excited for this phone. At first I was just going to keep my G2x but as it gets closer to launch date I’m getting way to excited for this phone. I guess the G2x will be going to the gf while I get the S2!

    • Sarni4884

Hey same here buddy g2x will go to wife…. sgs2 here I come. I’m definitely excited for this device seems to be very fast. Not due for an upgrade til Feb. But screw it I’m grabbing this badboy, now hopefully we get some cm love;)

    • Mrstrat

I was going to trash the G2X (piece of crap) for the new iPhone. But the iPhone 4S is just an incremental update. So maybe I’ll tell TMO to stick this pitiful excuse for a phone in exchange for this new Samsung.

Visited my local tmo store and can confirm that the amaze and sg2 does not have the WiFi calling app shortcut under apps so I’m not sure if the traditional WiFi calling is included or how it works on these new phones.if it’s not included,we’ll have to wait for root and then install WiFi calling .apk.

  • Android00

Anyone else plan on using a launcher to cover up the awful looking touchwiz?

No wifi calling app is a bummer. Still an awesome phone. Finally found something worthy of replacing my hd2

Touchwiz 4 is actually decent! U just have to try it for yourself

very curious about that too, since the Galaxy S 4G has a similar chrome coated plastic that begins to flake off, after a few months.

    1) What is ATT’s most frequently used frequency for UMTS? Is it UMTS Band II 1900 or UMTS Band IV 850? Considering the fact that the UMTS Band IV 850 is included with this phone is going to be interesting.

    2) How easy will it be to put in a UMA .apk for this phone?

    • Guest

Forgot to add, with the UMA/Wifi calling, even though it does not have the app shortcut does it work like it would on the blackberry where you uncheck mobile and check wifi and it’ll say UMA?

      • Njd_1988

It will include IMS which is a protocol a lot like UMS but is much improved. It will be available later this yr w/ a software update and using the included updated sim card.

AT&T mainly uses 1900 (for both 2G & HSPA+).. 850 was to help out those heavily populated cities that were having issues with AT&T.. go to their site to see what cities are 850 lit.

I’m not due for even an early upgrade for another 7 months, im like 10 months in……and i was hoping to just buy this phone w/o subsidizing……but after watching a few videos, i’m not happy of that processor switch.  the lag is pretty blatant in comparison to a lower clocked 1.2 gHz Exynos processor.  I’m fine with my Vibrant until contract end, or at least till the Galaxy Nexus……(please come to TMO….theres no reason not to, you have for the past two)

  • Jazzmanmonty

the no wifi calling is a true killer.  i lose reception in my work building and the gs4g has it, best feature ever.  that just broke me from getting this over the amaze 4g.  unless the amaze has really crappy battery life, then this will be the one to go with…just soooo sick of touchwhiz and samsung support.  it took forever to get custom roms on the gs4g..expecting the same for this.  boo.

    • James

use the included sim and you’ll be able to use wifi calling

Good luck waiting for this “update” from T-mobile. US is the last country on earth for SGS2 and even now the product is not yet “complete”. Seems to be ruse to rush to prevent people moving out for the iPhone.

Is  it really too big for a man’s pocket?  Much bigger than an iPhone?  I don’t have a smartphone yet and its something Im considering but as a man, I don’t know what Id do if a phone wouldn’t fit in my pants’ pocket.  how do you carry it around?  Its always been an issue cuz the carriers always have told me NOT to put the phone in your pocket (not cuz of health reasons although that may be a concern too, but because it will get damaged).  I have male friends that always put the phone on the table the second we get into a restaurant…but otherwise you have to put it in your pocket don’t you?  You can’t just hold a phone as you’re walking or going to a movie..so what do guys do?  Girls have it easy with purses.

That is a link from  blogger on the T-mobile forum. It is not “official”. In fact the specifications on the phone shows NO Wi-Fi calling on T-mobile web site. For me this a deal breaker. The only reason I stuck to a BB is due to the UMA. I travel internationally and UMA is very important to me. In the absence of Wi-Fi calling on SGS2, I might as well take an iPhone 4S on Sprint. In any case I plan to wait until end of November for reports on both phone user feedback. “A wise man learns from others mistakes”.
