Blackberry 9810 Training Currently Underway For T-Mobile Release

Thanks to a TmoNews ninja we’re getting another piece of intel that supports the Blackberry Torch 9810 arrival on T-Mobile in the very near future. As we can see, this material shows that T-Mobile retail reps are currently undergoing training for the future release of the Torch 9810. If you recall, the Torch 9810 appeared on the leaked roadmap from early October as the RIM “Dumoine” with a scheduled release date of November 9th.

While the actual release date remains unknown, the Torch 9810 is a definite go on T-Mobile and brings 4G 14.4Mbps HSPA+ capability. Along with 4G, the Torch arrives with a 3.2″ touchscreen, full QWERTY slide-out  keyboard, Wi-Fi calling, 5 megapixel camera with flash and 8GB’s of internal memory. We’re happy to see the Torch 9810 launch with Wi-Fi calling already pre-installed as Blackberry Bold 9900 users are currently awaiting a software update to install the feature.

Any takers?

Do they still make blackberry’s?  3.2″ screen, tiny.  HSPA+ 14.4, outdated. 5mp camera?  Competition is on to 8mp.  Is anyone going to buy this?

    • derrickps3

5mp is just as good as 8mp…..it’s not like we are taking professional pictures of celebrities, as long as it shows clear it’s good. stop trying to talk down on bb devices. of course it has a tiny screen, the phone is small dumbass, and it’s still big  compared to the 9900 and 9360. i don’t know why you are even commenting on this article.

      • Abolds4397

Larger that the 9900 (3.2 compared to 2.8). It is a nice size for the total size of the phone so if My2cents doesn’t want one, he shouldn’t worry about what it has (or comment like you said)!

Why don’t you grow up.  You started with the name calling. Now you want to cry about it.

I will buy it the day it comes out.

Good for you, at least someone is keeping RIM in business.

        • Platypus

yup.  me and 69,999,999 other subscribers worldwide.  Clearly you’re not one of them.

I’m buying one for me and my wife.  One can get away with a 200MB data plan on a BlackBerry (because of their data compression).  You can’t do that with Android.

    • Nccjones

I will.  I don’t like too big of a screen and I’m not a professional photographer so 5mp camera good.  It takes great pictures!  As far as processors, I don’t stream videos or play games so this phone will suit my needs perfectly.  I think quite a few people will buy this phone.

  • Devin

Heck yeah I’ll take this. I know people talk crap on BB but the things that BB does well, no one can do better.

  • TRON

You guys really need to smarten up. The mass media has you thinking you need dual-core and 8mp for it to be a good phone. This phone will be as useful and get things done just like any other phone. I myself am waiting on the BBX phones to launch. RIM will take over with those phones.

  • Gwapo

How much is the price? I hope it is not like the BB9900 :))

If T-Mobile had the torch this time last year I would be using a BB today.  A friend of mine picked up the torch from AT&T and I was mildly impressed with it.  At the time I was using the Nokia Nuron.  Since then I’ve gotten a HD7 and now I love WP7.  Sorry.  To late BB.

I’ve been waiting two years for this phone. Now that it is here, I don’t know if I still want it. I’m on the fence about it.

  • Adeschanel1

This was the blackberry I wanted so bad last year to come on T-mobile but no it went to freaking ATT, but I had to settle with the G2 which is an okay phone but not really my cup of tea. Now I’m all pumped up for a Window Phone 7 , and now you decide to release this blackberry I might have to get both a Blackberry and Window phone 7

  • DIAMOND PRINCE

i wanted this when it first came out but now its to late tmobile like always getting phones years later!! SgII is the best. I do acually like BB but if they came out with a new phone that would be awsome. But still im sure there will be a few ppl getting this. But dont expect it to be a hit with tmobile lol

  • Davenycept

I went to andriod from bb and have never looked back

Hate to disagree with your source, but that is not what retail training looks like, and the training we have right now is for how to work internal software, and the pay by the day prepaid plans. That does look like what the customer care training looked like a couple of years ago. Retail training isn’t colorful like that, it’s .pdf printouts and text only quizzes on the material.

Blackberry does have trainings on their website which is what that actually looks like, but we have not received any notifications of new training, or even of a new phone coming out, and I just saw our Blackberry rep a couple wells ago.

My point is that retail is NOT currently undergoing this training. This could be a potential training but it is not going on now.

I have no idea what division or department of T-mobile you worked for, but in my time as a direct dealer at a flagship corporate store, I did trainings like this once a week and my manager made sure to check that we were doing them. HR and the local company reps would make sure that we did them as well. The pdf print outs are guides that we post up on the bulletin walls and ALL the quizzes [from the training exams you do over conference, to your firestarter and champion trainings] looked EXACTLY like this.

      • firebird8

I’m in a corporate store, and no, they don’t. Maybe they changed them since you worked at a store. The ”trainings” are as I described, just quizzes in black and white. There are very few interactive trainings anymore; we get a grab and go printout, which has a definite visual structure not like the picture above, and then take a quiz. This format started about a year ago, and can be frustrating as the quizzes ask questions not covered in the grab and gos.

I hate this phone. I hated the original and I hate this one too. But I still do use BB.

  • nerdlust

Last year I wanted this phone in the worst way. I loved my bb8900 but when it died I went to the cliq 2 I must say I do miss the good battery life of bb but I loving the flexibility of android .

    I will buy it.

  • Hrose1965

wow just wow to companies going down rim and tmobile

    • Platypus

why do you even bother to post here?  If you don’t like T-Mobile and you don’t like Blackberry, I think you should go to the A Thief & Thief and rant about the iPhone.

    Off topic.

Looks like the Galaxy Nexus is going to Verizon.  Don’t know its exclusive or not but if it is then this is a big if not bigger blow to T-Mobile then not getting the iPhone 4S.  smh

Where the heck are the WP7.5 devices T-Mobile?

Well, I for one am very excited for this phone.  I don’t need the largest screen, or the fastest processor.  I want a good phone that meets my needs and this one fits the bill.  Hope this is not a rumor and it’s true.  I love TMobile and do not want to another carrier and I’m not thrilled with their BB selection right now.  Love the 9900 but it’s way overpriced at this point.

  • zacamandapio

Very good.  I’ll buy this one for my wife.

Soon we will have to offer these to the Mothers on WIC and Public Assistance. I love being the guy that controls their food stamps (lol). But seriously, Public Assistance pays for their Blackberries, i dont know if they do at nationwide, but in NYC they do.

  • Platypus

I wouldn’t argue with the fact that they are losing business and that they need to do something to improve their lot. I agree with you on that.  I just don’t see the need to be condescending and snarky.  You asked who would buy this.  I said I would.  You made a snarky remark.  I said that there are 70 million subscribers who would buy one and that you are clearly not one of them.  No reason to be an a**hole because you don’t like a product and someone else does.  Fact is fact, opinion is opinion.  You know what they say about opinions?  They’re like a**holes.  Everyone’s got one, and they all stink.

    Just be a bit nicer.

    • My2Cents

Yes put yourself in the A**hole class as well. you matched snarky remark for snarky remark.  So take a look in the mirror yourself buddy.  Nice to make a comment and call someone an A**hole and then tell them to be a bit nicer.

Try that one in the real world to someone’s face and see how far that get’s you.

Also in retrospect, I may have jumped the gun on your comment, and if I hurt your little feelings I apologize.

  • Platypus

And I will like my Blackberry, thank you very much.  Great email handling, compressed data leads to low data charges abroad, good enough touchscreen and a real keyboard.  And it isn’t the size of an envelope in my pocket.  I will love it just fine, thank you very much.

  • Iwnabowl

I just ordered mine through T-Mobile.
