Few leaks excite us more than a roadmap showing us upcoming launch dates for all the phones we could want and more. Unfortunately, this roadmap like the last one we previewed doesn’t link specific devices with their respective launch dates but we’ve got some pretty good guesses. The end of October is expected to see at least the Galaxy S II, HTC Ruby and at least the launch of one more tablet. As for September we know the Blackberry 9360 is still rumored for a September 14th launch date. As we move into October a number of launches are set for both October 15th and 19th. October 15th is scheduled as a major release release giving us hope that either the HTC Ruby or Galaxy S II has been moved up from the earlier rumored date of October 26th.

At the very least we expect that October should present us with a number of excellent smartphone and tablet choices along with a feature phone or two. What do you want to see?

I’m sorry, I’m having trouble reading this article David. What are you guesses for the Galaxy S2? October 15th or 19th right? Sorry in advance. Would have been nice if the Galaxy S2 came out this month. I’ll probably hold out for the next Nexus device. Also hope that our GS2 has an Exynos CPU and not the qualcomm.

They all have the exynos… That was confirmed last week at the official announcement for the US launch.

As David has explained before, you’ll never see an iPhone on anyone’s road-map. When Verizon’s road-map was released a few months before the iPhone came to them, it was not on their list either.

    • Anonymous

T-mobile probably released this roadmap, along with all of the other rumors, on purpose just so then they could get more publicity.

With the iPhone, Apple doesn’t allow other companies to leak information about it, as Apple’s goal is to get people to buy the current iPhone 4 at full price up until the day of the announcement for the iPhone 5.

The hercules (galaxy sII) is going to loose it’s WOW factor by October since Sprint and AT&T are releasing it mid September…

    • Aaron Blain

yep I agree TMO is being stupid….they could launch the week after ATT and Sprint ….

      • Rayfinn

Agreed, again -I think its all about the Merger-waiting to see if its a go or not then production and band freq’s can be defined to make sure they don’t go overboard. Tmo is hurting for $ and makes no sense to put $ in production of a phone people will not want when the nexus and bionic are not far behind.  If the CEO’s of TMO had the titanium ballbearings like D HESSE of the S comp.  the GS2 would have had specs and a sooner release date to capture more of the market, but I guess with out big ballbearings they sip their girlygirl drinks and pray they don’t lose too-much of the market share by not making a stand /decision and sticking to it… , but then again I’m sure they have a semigolden parachute incase things go south.

T-mobile’s churn rate will go up if GSII is released on other networks and not here. With no iPhone 5 and no GSII on T-mobile, I see a very bleak future for T-mobile. Until now the churn has been to AT&T and Verizon. Now even Sprint would benefit from this deluge. I think DT assumed the merger is done  and have dropped the ball and if the flight becomes a mass exodus and no merger, shareholders of DT are going to loose big time. I do hope the leadership team focuses on its loyal customers and not just on the merger.

What are talking about. The gs2 is coming to tmobile. Verizon is the only carrier that want have the gs2. Do more research before making a comment. As far as the iphone is concerned, it’s rumored that tmobile will get it.

      • Nearmsp

Is that a hope? They gave no dates, and they did not even do a demonstration and a launch at the end of September will be dead on arrival, because by then most people would have gone for an iPhone 5 or SGS2 to other carriers. DT started counting its chicken before they were hatched.

        • Giraffe

When has a rumor for any company given a date on the SGS2?  I think all of the evidence proves everyone but Verizon is getting it in the near future, and I’ve got no dates announced for anyone asof yet.  Stop being a fearmonger and recognize that people are just as in the dark about the upcoming phones for each provider.

Iwas planning on waiting for the gs2 but I am typing this from the Sensation and so far I am very very impressed.
my mytouch 4g was simply giving up the ghost and I was burned out with the phone.
yesterday when I called t mobile at first they wouldn’t allow me a full upgrade at 19 months.
she looked at my account and after seeing I had already gone through 3 mytouch 4g’she came back on the line and said she could approve a full upgrade.
I was a bit surprisedbut happy I got the full upgrade.
the deal killer for me with the galaxy s was their very poor email client.
Sense is just so muck better email wise.
The speed of this phone compared to the much mytouch is like night and day .

Wasn’t tmo the first to launch a us verison of the original galaxy s (vibrant)? There has to be politics behind this release date. Its not like they’re releasing it later to be a$$holes. Besides, its not a big deal if it gets released a few weeks later than sprint and att….the world won’t end…..millions of tmo customers won’t flock to sprint or att bc of a handset launch day being a few weeks behind competition…..

    • Bb6h22lude4

A couple Weeks huh? Lol over a month at least.

      • Anonymous

Still not a legit reason for leaving. I mean if ur someone thats waiting for the next iphone, i can understand. Who knows if tmo will carry it. Its not like tmo hasnt acknowledged the gs2 at all. Its coming soon. Enough. The US in general has waited an eternity for the gs2…. Whats a few more weeks or a month?

    • http://twitter.com/sulu600 Steve Park

Maybe not millions, but I would guess 10′s of thousands are a real possibility leaving.  TMO has been bleeding customers for a couple of quarters now.  And if the iPhone5 is not in the lineup for an Oct release on TMO, then you can probably multiply those numbers x10.

      • Anonymous

I mean ppl are leaving tmo in general, but i dont think theyre leaving bc of phone selection. Tmo has an awesome lineup od devices right now. Its stupid to jump ship now just bc a particular device isnt launching the same month as competitors. If ur someone whos satisfied with tmos network, why leave now and pay more each month with another carrier?

David, Do you know when tmobile plans on launching more 4G markets? Did they hit a stop like sprint and are waiting for something else to do?

    • CommonSense

They virtually stopped except for areas that were already budgeted.

This is why the AT&T buyout either has to happen or fail fast.  The longer it takes the longer T-Mobile will be in limbo and investments will stall.

T-Mobile’s customers come out the loser in this.  Everyone else is going LTE and our network and backhaul will once again be 2-3 years behind.

      • Jarrod

If the deal fails I hope they get to keep the cash and not DT so they can put the money and spectrum towards advancing their network. I think they are a great alternative to major companies with sacrificing coverage in most cases and getting fast internet when in the city area.

        • Anonymous

Nope, that cash will be DT’s. They’ll take the money and run, getting rid of T-Mobile some other way.

        • http://twitter.com/SParKlngCyaNide SparklingCyanide

Unfortunately DT gets the cash and as we ALL know DT doesn’t want to see T-Mobile USA succeed and especially they wont give any money to use to do so which is why Magenta’s in the mess its in.  Its parent company never gave a rats behind about us, EVER.  Other T-Mobile brands around the world got as much money as they wanted.

This goes to prove, If AT&T wants to have T-Mobile by the end of 2011, why does T-Mobile’s map say Holiday 11/2 – 1/17 and then below it have a phone with T-Mobile exclusive. I hope it fails.

    • Oh Come On!

I would have loved to get my hands on a SGS2 but the processor needs to be comfired. I don’t want a half baked cake at all.

Lastly, by the time, we in the United States get SGS2, Samsung will probably have announced SGS3. Something is REALLY wrong in US wireless market! I am originally from Pakistan, and I can I tell you that over there, they have extremely cheap calling rates and they get all the latest phones like the in a day or two! Why can’t we have that in the U.S? I mean, they have SGS2 in India and Pakistan! Why the hell do we have to wait this long?

The reason is that in much of the world including India and Pakistan mainly GSM is used. People buy their own cell phones mostly for full price and then select a carrier. They are not locked in and with unlocked phones they can jump ship any time. US companies are used to giving a dime and locking in people for 2 years and don’t have to bother for service for that period. Additionally even if some one cancels the phone, it is locked or not workable on a rival’s network. Thus the US market is one of the most expensive and least competitive in the world. So while China and Indian customers have 2 sim card slots, most in the US are lucky to have even a single sim card.

I was so ready to go all in, and purchase the hercules(full retail price), but Oct 26 makes it a tough sell for me now.. it’s going to take some really impressive vid reviews for me to stay on board..

To pay $550 in the 4th (of this year) for a non ics device, is something i’m having a hard time justifying(in my mind).. Times like this I wish I wasnt “in the know” about upcoming devices..

The galaxy note would be a perfect match for me, 2500mah battery plus 1.4GHz of dual core goodness my oh my.. also the possibility of a all touchscreen(no capacitive buttons) nexus prime(for the Android purist).. The next six months well be heaven on earth for us gadget lovers.. End rant

    • ItsNotAndroid

The Galaxy Note is Bada not Android.  Bada is not a mobile OS sold here in the States.

Bada is like a high end dumb phone experience made pretty by Samsung…  nothing like Android.  Why it needs such a strong CPU is a question I don’t have an answer to.

      • The Architect(of the Matrix)

Interesting.. I was actually curious about that because none of the articles I read, and none of the hands on vids I’ve watched made mention of the os..

I mostly use my phone for media consumption and emails, so the note seems like it’s made for me.. The likely hood of it arriving here in the states are slim anyway..

but here’s to hoping that a revamped version sporting similar specs and Android is in the works.. Because Samsung may be onto something here.. Picking up and improving, where the Dell steak 5 left off..

We’re in September. Those release dates are for the middle of October. That’s 6 weeks from now. This is not a long time.

I have been wondering for about a year or so now why manufacturers continue to pump out android phones every other week with only minor tweaks and differences, instead of focusing on making substantial improvements. They just keep rushing new phones out with bigger screens but the same bugs. I could never understand why, but I think I’ve found my answer.

lol read these boards. There are plenty of people with no self control that absolutely MUST have the newest latest greatest device so they can get bored with it and buy the newester greatester one three weeks later.

The answer is money. If you could consistently pump out a cheap to manufacture, average to slightly above average (sometimes good) product every two weeks to a month, and make millions because people keep snapping them up, wouldn’t you?
