That sounds awesome…I want a sidekick so badly! But my plan of 1500mins, unlimited txt, and unlimited data (up to the max softcap) for three lines for $175 (that’s including taxes) is just too good to re-up for a different plan. I wish I could though, damn I wish I could.

They hit you with a BIG fee to switch to this if your a current T-Mobile customer.  I called and found out the bad news.

    • LC

Only if you’re still early in you contract. The further along in your current contract the smaller the migration fee becomes.

They kind of have to.  If they give you $300 off your phone AND $480 off of the rate plan over two years, their profits become nil.  Gotta choose one or the other, yo.

T mobile is just sticking it to their current customers huh?

The only trick to the store in Massachusetts is not getting shot on your way in or out of the store.

I received in the mail a $25 gift card from a T-mobile store near by my house recently for no reason :)

Oh wow! I’m happy to hear that Tmo loves you so much. Oh, they sent me one too fyi.

What are the criteria to get them?  I keep reading about them on this site, and yet Ive had Tmob for over 4 years and gotten nothing…and now Im a free agent…waiting to see what the best offer is or maybe get the iphone5 next fall (but all of ATT’s price hikes make me not want to be an ATT customer…oh and that everyone I knows  has an iPhone with att and while they love their iPhones they hate ATT)

      • Wilma Flintstone

I’m not sure if there is a specific criteria unless you just have to be a customer over a certain amount of years.  I’ve been with them since around 02/03 and they sent me one.  You’re out of contract and have been for four years so I don’t see why you wouldn’t qualify.  It probably is en route to you and just haven’t made it there yet.

I’m using mine to buy a MicroSIM card for the Nokia N9.

Common , seriously? I would be interested in this. I m off contract. But wow I would have to drive 3 hrs to get the free phone! How the hell do you not have Orlando on tht list in Florida?! The stores they have listed are all in the Miami area. Guess the hell with central and northern Florida residents?

  • IT Guy

That’s some craptacular marketing. Try to bring in new customers, but only offer the deal at select stores? Really?

As always, the promotion is for NEW customers and those of us old timers can’t qualify for the good offers.  Just more frustration….And what about ATT saying it is eliminating their text packages so now your choices are .20 per text or $20 add on for unlimited texts (no more $5-10 plans..) Really?  When you’re trying to tell us that your merger is a good idea?  And now you charge $20 for anybody who doesn’t want to pay per text….so anybody who sends more than 100 texts now has to pay $20 ….makes me fear the merger even more.  All these Tmob promotions to get new customers, and then all those people will get screwed when their initial contract ends.

    • derek 21

i think you read a little to deep in to some stuff here. what does att and their text packages have to do with t-mobile, their still two separate companies, existing customers if eligible for upgrade can take advantage of a special offer for those two phones as well, everything is not for new customers.

    • Agora20

They had this deal for current customers until the Unlimited Loyalty Plan. I can’t remember when, but they did have a similar plan for Loyal Customers, only.

No stores in Michigan.  Oh well.

  • http://twitter.com/Lawless_1 Lawless_1

So living in Ohio I have to drive all the way to Illinois for this? It cost more in gas than either of these phones are worth. Do I want a buggy Sidekick or a basic Exhibit….. nope.

  • Pikachu

Too bad the $25 dollar cards don’t even work. Seen so many customers get declined even after it was freshly activated. Now they expect to throw out $49 cards? I’ve only heard that like a single digit percentage of customers $25 cards that worked. The marketing ploy is this: Send out “customer appreciation cards” loaded with money that can “only be spent at a tmobile store” you are so happy you go to a store and pick out what you want, only to find that your card is “declined” which is somewhat embarrassing so you pay for it out of your own pocket. Bait and switch, bait and switch.

    • LC

I’ve taken a ton of those and never had a single one declined. That’s really strange.

      • Wilma Flintstone

I know mine better work.  I’m going probably tomorrow or Monday.  Will let all know the results.

Is the world ready for Samsung Galaxy S3? The United States might say nay since the Galaxy S2 has yet to land on their shores! though the release date is supposed to be this August. But don’t let it stop us from talking about the upcoming third edition of the Samsung Galaxy… after all, it’s already available in many European countries and also in the Middle East since May 2011!
For sure the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be so much better than the great Galaxy S2. According to rumors, the S3 will have a huge 4.5-inch Super AMOLED screen. It’s also going to have a very thin body with bezel on the left and right side of the display. It’s also going to pack in a 12MP dual camera and Near Field Communication technology which means it can be used to pay for purchases instead of the regular credit card.
As for connectivity, Expect 4G from the device as well. It’s also rumored to have Google’s upcoming Android operating system Ice Cream Sandwich. Faster performance is surely ensured because it’s rumored to have a quad core CPU. Will it be the first to bear Nvidia’s Kal-El processor? The Galaxy S3 is rumored to launch next year 2012 in time for the launch of the first line of Kal-El-powered devices. So, will you get the Galaxy S2 or will you just wait for the Samsung Galaxy S3?

A new rumor suggests that the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S II will arrive in stores on September 8, could be the first carrier-supported Galaxy S2 to hit the United States market.Summary: Multiple reports quoting a SprintFeed article say the Samsung Galaxy S II, reportedly set to use Epic 4G Touch branding, will arrive in stores on September 8th. If true, then the Now Network will be the first US carrier to offer Samsung’s most popular Android smartphone to date.Multiple reports led by SprintFeed claim that the Samsung Galaxy S II that will run under the banner of Sprint Nextel, will arrive in the United States smartphone market on September 8th. If true, then the Sprint Nextel Samsung Galaxy S II will be the first variant that will hit the US stores. Samsung Galaxy S II (or Galaxy S2) is the most popular Android smartphone of Samsung to date, based on the number of units shipped, and units sold.Additional rumors say the Samsung Galaxy S II for Sprint will use the Samsung Epic Touch 4G branding, but will still maintain the specs. The original (or global) version of the Samsung Galaxy S II sports 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of dedicated RAM, 8 megapixel back camera, a front facing 2 megapixel camera for video chatting, and pre-installed with the latest Android Gingerbread 2.3 out of the box with the custom Samsung TouchWiz skin on top.But the September 8 is also the rumored release date of Verizon’s much-anticipated Android smartphone, the Motorola Droid Bionic. The new Motorola Mobility phone with Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 and custom Motorola skin on top of the UI is a popular device due to its compelling Long Term Evolution connectivity and dual-core TI OMAP4 processor clocked at 1 GHz. Motorola Droid Bionic will be the first LTE Android devices to include dual-core processor.Aside from the Droid Bionic, rumors say Verizon Wireless is also expected to carry the Samsung Galaxy S II, but the carrier is still not confirming the reports. Droid Life speculates that the Samsung Celox could be the LTE version of the Galaxy S2 that will join the US Android market. Samsung Celox was leaked last week, sporting 4.5 inch screen and rumored to include dual-core processor and LTE connectivity.

I cannot believe in places where the economy hit the hardest they’ve completely avoided.  How does this make sense?  Obviously instead of an effort to raise their subscriber numbers everywhere they’ve decided to focus on the markets they seem to be successful in.  You can’t grow without taking chances.  #fail
