The HTC Wildfire S is a perfect introductory and affordable Android device launching today on T-Mobile’s network. The Wildfire S is a definite mid-range smartphone that is perfect for Mom or the brand new smartphone user who just doesn’t need the papa bears of the smartphone world. In any case our friend Aaron from PhoneDog is unboxing the HTC Wildfire S and so we present 8 minutes of 3.2″ touchscreen Android goodness.

This guy wasted the first two minutes on commercials and talking this phone down (“good phone for Mom”) and didn’t show very much about its performance, particularly screen responsiveness.  Should also have done more comparisons with fancier phones.  This is not the low-end phone this guy implies, it’s a reasonable, small, and light alternative to the superphones that have gotten too bloated both software and hardware, and have too short battery life.

Does it matter? They way things are going seems like soon Android will go away.

Companies have to pay more and more and deal with more law suit in courts because Android stole lots of IP’s from others. I don’t invest and count on Android for future.

Better to not waste my money on Android handsets and apps as well any other platform has more bright future.

Huh? Apple and Microsoft joining forces to patent troll Google is not a reason to not go for android. If anything, what will end up happening is Google will just pay up. They have to money to license for themselves. I’d wouldnt worry about that.

You’d be in for more of a gamble if you picked a WebOS, WP7, or Blackberry device. All of those platforms are on shaky legs, with the first two not making much progress getting off the ground, and the blackberry in a death spiral. Id say in terms of viability, Android is the better option.

But then again, you are likely someone who isnt interested in android anyway, but wanted to pretend to be interested just to troll.

Dude voice is awfully annoying and he talks too much, so I stopped the vid at 58 seconds.
