This phone looks pretty sick, even though I’m not a fan of Windows Mobile, this may be good for their market but I feel like it’s too little too late..

Don’t worry, its NOT Windows Mobile. Its Windows Phone (WP), a whole new operating system, with the only similarity being the Creator. WP is a new slick looking operating system that performs solidly and is simple to use.

Ok I think people realize it’s called Windows phone….just used to calling it windows mobile. It’s like if android suddenly became android phone people would still call it android

You never know, some people don’t keep up with the times. It is VERY possible that someone may be a year late! =]

no, it’s like when google android come up with google humanoid where there is no lag, force close, bloatware and random reboot; and people would still call that android.

Actually, they don’t. Most people have never used the New Windows Phone 7.

Most people remember the old windows mobile, because of the huge market-share it once had. When they hear Windows Phone, they think oh yeah, that OS sucks.

Yeah, will it run Android? :-)

    • moparshusband

It’s “Windows Phone 7.” not “Windows Mobile”. They are different. You can’t run your Windows Mobile apps on Windows Phone 7.

    • James Devenberg

As others have pointed out Windows Mobile and Windows Phone are not the same.  Microsoft threw out all the old code and started from scratch to create a completely new OS.  I for one prefer Windows Phone to Android.  I had been on Android for 1.5 years (original Moto Droid then MyTouch 4G) and have been on Windows Phone 7 for a few months now and I must say it is much smoother and works much, well, better than Android.  It is more reliable, less random reboots, no need to root to remove carrier bloatware or OC the processor to achieve a smooth experience

OH ITS SO SEXY LOOKING… I may have to trade in my HD7 for the smaller screen just because the thing looks so sweet and has the FFC. AND THE headphone jack is up top….sheesh it’s annoying where they put it on the HD7

    • Anonymous

Agreed, the white color scheme definitely attractive. Especially in an age where the black phone has become the norm.

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! This is looking to be my next device. Sorry G2x, you were looking mighty spiffy when you were 1st announced, then when you were finally released, you were a whole nother story. You went from looking pretty sexy, to being pretty U.G.L.Y. Looks aren’t everything, neither is the cosmetics overlay of what features will be included, it’s how those features will “perform.”

Hey off topic…but no posting about the J.D. Power award that took TMO from 4th to 2nd in wireless performance?

    • http://tmonews.com David

Which JD Power award are you referring to? The wireless network quality award that came out today that saw T-Mobile and everyone else get spanked by Verizon in 5 out of 6 regions?

Yes that one…I mean lets face it, Verizon will always be #1 on paper, we know this. The last one they had TMO came in tied for 4th with ATT. This one we took solid 2nd. Neville stated TMO is turing things around and putting up some very good numbers, to the point if this was 6 months ago, TMO would prop not be in the predicament its in now. Some interesting info from yesterdays meeting.

Noob question… but what does RAM do?

Noob question… but what does RAM do?

      • Anonymous

RAM is Random Access Memory. It is used to store information that needs to be processed. For example when you click on an app, the information for that app is transferred from the internal memory to the RAM, so that your processor can transfer that information and relay it on the screen.
Simply put, the RAM is the memory that is used for running things (apps, games, system processes etc.)

    • James Devenberg

Windows Phone 7 utilizes RAM much more efficiently than Android, so 512 MB is plenty.  Same with its single core processor.  Because Windows Phone 7 is hardware optimized (like the iPhone) it doesn’t need a dual core processor to run faster and smoother than a dual core Android phone.  I for one applaud Microsoft and HTC for not adding extra, battery consuming power that isn’t needed for an excellent user experience.

      • sino8r

Nonsense! they run much less smoothly. and 3G/4G is the cause of most battery drain…

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Adas-Weber/622729281 Adas Weber

Clearly you never used one. We have several Android and WP7 phones in my family and the WP7 phones run much smoother than the Andriod phones.

        • Realcool2000

What does “run smoother” mean. Please be more specific.

        • Lilmark2002

If you don’t understand what “run smoother” means then you shouldn’t be using a smartphone….or any device for that matter

  • Jersey6

That is a nice looking phone.

    good looking device

Interesting if they get flash I might jump ship.

flash is… hard to work with.
the ones on androids runs badly, and apple and ms dont even want to go down that road… i think no one would seriously consider flash on smart phones. it’s just, bad business.

It’s a beautiful phone but the specs are rather subpar and it runs WM

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Adas-Weber/622729281 Adas Weber

      It does not run WM.

It runs WP7 Mango, which is a totally different system – one that is actually very good.

Sorry, but I don’t want this.  I want the 4.5 inch Eternity.  WTF T-Mobile.  I’m suppose to give up my HD7 for a 3.8 inch screen on a white phone? No thanks.

    • Jersey6

      Cry about it.

  • J. Williams

wow, that’s a good looking device.

  • Havoktek

Although I’m not a Wp7 fan this does look nice. It would be better(geek wise) if MS didn’t have tight retsrictions on the hardware specs. Possibly they can post some serious competition in the future.
This is good, competition spurs innovation.

Ughh HTC and their tired designs :/

I do find this too be attractive. I will say that even though HTC recycles the same designs(this looks almost identical to the Incredible S with a HTC flyer back) I actually find this phone to look pretty good.

Their Windows Phone 7 design Team sucks.
