Touch to focus is obviously broken here as it is on the Sensation 4G.

Notice how it got real sharp on the close up of the wood and got all blurry?

Happens all the time with the Sensation 4G.

Works fine on my sensation… you just got to be still when you press it and then it focuses just fine

It “focuses” it’s just blurry. If you’re telling me all of your close up shots auto focus fine on the first try you are a liar.

The camera looks really cool.  My big question is how is the picture quality of the images and movies?  I don’t expect to have image quality matching my DSLR, but is it enough to replace my point and shoot?  My G2 didn’t hit the mark, but the MT4GS might hit the mark….

    • IT Guy

I fear that while it stacks up nicely against other phones, the picture quality probably won’t be as good as your average (dedicated) point and shoot digital. The software with all of it’s options will help, but it takes more than megapixels to capture a good image. Unfortunately in a phone sized package you just can’t get the quality of optics that you can fit into even a moderately priced camera.

Most of what I’ve seen about the MT4gS has been regarding the camera. I hope they’re not going to release a device with a high end (for phones) camera, and have the rest be mediocre.

anyone getting really tired of seeing that stupid give away head line of ipads and galaxy tabs. hate looking at that everytime i read a new story

I love the camera on my original MT4g and take
lots of video. I’m sure this one has a nice camera as well… though
have to wonder how good the shot modes really are. The panoramic feature
sounds really cool. I’m going to look into an app to do that on my
    phone.

Looks nice, got me excited. x]

So far so good.. I just hope t-mobile didn’t bite off more than it can chew, by promoting the camera(capabilities) so aggressively..

I mean they had me sold with “dual core slider” lol.. But the camera looks very promising.. I can’t wait to get some hands on time with this device..

Sent from my soon to be “up 4 sale” mt4g.. lol

  • nerdlust

Interesting I might bite. I happen to like my cliq2 but the super camera and dual core is tempting to say the least

Is this mostly in software? If so, there is potential to see this type of shooting on the phone such as the Sensation.

*yawn* …and we heard it all before, but yet and still the camera ends up being average and below mediorce with in a month or so when a newer devices comes out. And bottomline, iPhone 4 has one of the best cameras ever put into a mobile phone and it is only 5-megapixels.

    • The ATL Guy

have you seen the photo comparison between the iphone and the Mytouch 4g?

If they really wanted to hit it out of the park they would’ve included a xenon flash and not LED.

  • Jesse Mack

This “zero shutter lag” feature appears to be the camera’s ability to capture a photo despite focus confirmation. Paired with the usual continuous autofocus, this should work out fine most of the time. Though I would prefer the addition of an easy to use focus lock system, as well as the ability to manually control the electronic shutter speed (or at the very least exposure lock). Just my 2 cents.

  • Stephanie29

Ok, so it has a nice camera but what about internal memory?  I had the MTS3G and if I downloaded maybe 6 apps I got a little warning about low memory. :/  The phone had A LOT of unnecessary preinstalled apps that I couldn’t uninstall.  I just hope this device isn’t the same way.

    • Anonymous

Was your low-memory warning about low RAM?  Or was it about low “Internal storage” ROM — where those “unnecessary apps” are installed?
Internal storage on this phone is 4GB, RAM is 768MB.

    • malakaa

i have a mts3g as well and i have this same issue, your problem is being addressed in this version of the phone. your issue is about the internal storage, not ram.

This video couldn’t possibly be more slacking, improvised, and uninformative.  The dude narrating this piece evinces no understanding of photography at all.  We might as well be listening to someone reading the phone book.
