T-Mobile Throws Another After Hours Sale, You Aren’t Invited

Oh hey, you know those after hour sales T-Mobile keeps having.  Yeah, those are great! Except when they are for new customers, which probably isn’t you.  If it is you, though, you can get a free Sensation 4G, online only, for four more hours.  For the rest of you, tell a friend and, you know, tell them about the site!

That’s insane!! Especially with T-Mobile’s already bargain basement plans!! :D

Why do people keep saying Tmobiles low plans? I’m paying $100/month for unlimited everything Which is More expensive than Sprint and not that much cheaper if at all cheaper than Verizon. I have a friend who is paying the same as me on Verizon for unlimited everything.

      • jarjon76

Sounds like you need to call loyalty and adjust your plan. Assuming you are in good standing, they’ll be more than happy to tweak your plan.

I’m paying $88/month for unlimited everything on T-Mobile, and that price is significantly less than anything else out there, hands down.  But, I’m on their unlimited loyalty plan because I’ve been with them since they were Voice Stream.  IF you’re on their loyalty plan, you should be paying less unless there are variations in pricing within the loyalty plan for some reason.

Ugh very upsetting.. I might as well upgrade at walmart. Last time i was there i believe i could upgrade to the sensation for 150.

    • Gm Aharrington1

      Upgrade at Target $129.99

    • http://twitter.com/mmbutt Muhammad

wirefly also selling it for $129. consider another 35 bucks for activation charges.

At this point, even if I get free phone, I don’t want to extend my contract.. who know I might not be able to use new 4g phone in ATT’s network at 4g speed or even 3g speed  and forced to pay for new phone and get crappy ATT customer service..

unless ATT fail to acquire T-mobile, then I’m in

    • Anonymous

I would worry about that later if I were you..

      • http://twitter.com/dhlee528 Dong Hwi Lee

it’s about a year away and why would I want to get new phone that I won’t be able to use as SMART phone due to SLOW data speed

    • tevroc

if att aquaires tmo.. they get all their towers and spectrum too so you phone will still work fine.  the CS will probably be crappy though.  I really doubt the govt will allow this deal to go through though.

if you have been researching, when ATT acquires TMO, TMO 3g will die (it was on the news, you can easily search for it), and we have to get a new phone. because TMO’s AWS will be LTE.. and ATT and TMO 3g is not compatible..

    • jarjon76

Perfectly understandable, but I wouldn’t worry too much about that. It’s not like AT&T is going to shut off all T-Mobile phone the second the merger goes through. It’s going to take time, in fact you’ll most likely finish any contract you sign now before things start to change.

Looks like T-Mobile is neglecting their loyal existing customers. I’m slowly and gradually looking into Verizon or Sprint.

Verizon is more expensive and Sprint’s service leaves a lot to be desired. I do agree it would be nice to see one of these “midnight sales” that included existing customers that are eligible for full discount upgrade.

      • Trentlarge

Sprint service is much better in my area. They’ve always been good to me.

    • theWayofThings

You are fully entitled to deals like this… just wait for another deal like this one to come around, add a line and you get the phone… Problem Solved.

    • jarjon76

Good luck with that. Be sure to stop by here and let everyone know how much more you’re paying for less. That’ll show T-Mobile!

I believe you can upgrade with Newegg and get the sensation for 119 with free FedEx shipping.  Since I want rather than need the sensation, I am going to wait a little while longer and see if the price drops even more on one of these online sites.

    • jarjon76

Wirefly also has it at $119 with free FedEx shipping. If you are patient and look around, you can get this phone on the cheap. Great call on saying you want and not need the phone.

  • Jsummers3007

Add a line , cancel the old line then request your old number back within a few days. Problem solved I used to work for a dealer, sometimes it took a few days but it never failed, and many online retailers offer free activation

    • Guest

You still would be paying a fee to cancel the old line.

I read all the problems with many newly released android phones and said to myself…self, why not a beautiful Nokia E7? I love it, and having owned a Nexus One from day one, which is great BTW, I also love the freedom of this beautiful unbloated Nokia. I am fed up with carrier phones.

    • Dominic

So just root the phone.  It doesn’t take much, just have to read a little and follow detailed instructions.

  • Youngt82

Dang its already out of stock:(

  • Cherry316316

funny, if u call them, they will jst transfer u from one person to another, until the phone get disconnected.

  • Guest

Got my sensation! Hell yeah! Free is a hell of a deal! This was around 1cst btw.

  • Jarrod

Did any body else notice they got micro sim cards? I was surprised ti see that they had them and were clearly stating use for iPhone and iPad.

    • TMO Loyal

The last I heard T-Mobile has over 1 million iPhone’s on their network. If you have an iPhone and call customer care you actually get routed to a special que for iPhone users.

That’s better than AT&T does for their iphone users, believe it or not! My friend has an iphone 3GS and now that he’s having problems with it, all AT&T will tell him is “Take it to the Apple store, it’s Apple’s product, not ours!”

        When running iphone:
Customer service that actually listens > AT&T’s 3G lite speeds

      • Sapphire3g

That is actually incorrect, TMO Loyal. I work for T-Mobile technical care. I support all phones and I get iPhone calls as well as other types of device calls.

so why dont you cry about it?  seriously wtf is wrong with everyone?  all anyone does here is complain..  they are giving a $500 phone away free and have the cheapest rate plans on the 2nd fastest network.  be happy.  i’m so glad the phone i’ve been waiting for is finally released so i can stop coming here.

you are absolutely right. but still it hurts to pay 129 or 199 when something was free last night. :-)

      • JustMe

“2nd fastest network” – PC Mag rated Verizon’s 4Glte slightly faster, but good luck in getting a phone that actually uses LTE. Their only LTE phone is the Thunderbolt and its battery life when using LTE is only good for about 2 hours.

And, tevroc, I’m not criticizing  your post. I totally agree with you about the complaining. T-Mobile’s phone selection is awesome now, the network is screaming fast, and customer service remains top-notch!

        • SuperK

It’s kind of ridiculous, it’s like saying that you can travel on a highway that has no traffic vs. a congested highway in the middle of rush hour. It’s not quite comparable as Verizon doesn’t have the majority of their smartphone customers congesting their LTE network. Granted LTE is the future, it’s not matured yet. There are so many variables, and with speeds like we’re seeing… who cares if you get a slightly faster data connection? Just be burning to the end of your 50 dollar 5gb plan on verizon anyways, spending more money faster.

Is there anyway to know when the next sale is? :-)

  • Tmobile

New to T-mobile, Should I get the Sensation, Galaxy S, G2x, or the New MyTouch 4g slide? Though I will probably jump on the family plans with their cheap rates.

    • Michael

      iPhone!

      • JG01

I just bought a Sensation 4G, like it much beter than the Vibrant I had before. However, if the iPhone 5 comes to TMobile, the Sensation becomes my backup phone! Too many security holes in Android !!

        • socrates

please elaborate on these security holes, genius

He can’t because there isn’t any.

What ever you do just wait until one of them is free on the next midnight sale! I waited only 2 weeks for the sensation the last time it was free and both sales were this month. Be patient!! Its a great deal if you keep checking every night at 12EST!

These sales show include current customers……..some of us want to have more than one phone …you know, have one as a backup, just in case one gets damages/lost/stolen etc.

    • jarjon76

You can get an additional phone anytime you want. You’re wanting a Sensation for free, which isn’t going to happen, but you could get one for a nice price if you’re close to the end of your contract. If you’re not close to the end, finish your contract and wait for a great deal when you’re almost up.

      • theWayofThings

Current customer’s are more than eligible for these deals… they just have to add a new line… if they don’t want to add a new line, then they can’t get the deal.. it’s very simple.

good deal for new customers … but like others said … throw current ones outside of the update window a bone.. they never do that for some reason.

  • Gm Aharrington1

T-mobile now has a micro sim card that will allow you to use an iPad or iPhone on their network. No longer do we have to customize our own.

    • Gm Aharrington1

Forgot to put in that they have it listed on website. I should get one and put it in old AT&T phone lying around. See if it works.

      • Tmobile

Yeah put it in an att phone and see if it works (not just the iPhone).

  • Dee6268

why do t-mobile always offer new customers free phones what about current customers

    • Anonymous

Ik I kinda hate that they should do like this stuff for current customers like once or twice a year.

    • jarjon76

Because they already have you and are trying to entice those who aren’t with T-Mobile to join. I’m sure you got a great deal when you first signed up with T-Mobile, and a deal current customers couldn’t get. Not sure why this is so hard to understand, all business do this.

      • Gerick

No. I didn’t. They just bought my current carrier, VoiceStream.

  • http://twitter.com/iDiotGear Rob Daman

I’ve called the loyalty department 5 times since Father’s day and I still can’t get a good deal. So lame.

Are you currently eligible for any upgrade?

Calling 5 times to Loyalty, which does show up in the notes, is like the boy who cried wolf.  People will figure out your just trying to play the game.

i have to fight tooth and nail to get a deal with the loyalty department.

    • theWayofThings

Because that’s not what the loyalty department is for… it is there to make a saves offer when a customer is going to cancel a line, if you call back several times, or consistently call in threatening to cancel to get a deal, they catch on and you get jack.

  • http://twitter.com/iDiotGear Rob Daman

  • Dominic

So go to another carrier and pay many hundreds more over the course of two years than you’d pay with T-mobile.  Comparing AT&T’s unlimited plan with their 2GB data to T-mobile’s unlimited 2GB plan(with no overages) shows you save $35 a month.  So yeah, jump ship to get that cheap phone and you only pay $850 more over the course of the contract because you wanted to save less than $200.

    • SuperK

You could also wait till the end of your contract, then open a new line and cancel your existing one, so it does work for existing customers that are at the end of the contract… just pay your activation fee, and you’re done.

Wasnt talking about ATT so no need for everyone to post nasty comments….go compare to the other lower priced companies that offer unlimited for $50 ….just as long as you dont want an iphone youre ok

I discovered the free HTC Sensation promo before T-Mobile closed for the night at 9:40 PM PST. I called T-Mobile Customer loyalty who offered to give me the same promo minus the activation fees since my 4 T-Mobile lines all qualified for upgrade, and I have been a month-to-month (off contract) customer for a long time. Was told they would remain on yhe phone past 10 PM to finish processing my order – but the line disconnected at 10:03 PM PST, the rep DID NOT CALL ME BACK, and I have been through multiple hours on the phone with several different T-Mobile reps – all with varying bull crap excuses why they can’t honor the commitmrnt they made to give me the promo. Their Marketing Department is willing to ADD one new line with the promo, but unwilling to KEEP my 4 existing lines (remember I’m a 7 year customer currently off contract and now totally ready to go almost anywhere BUT T-Mobile. WOW – what “genius” in Marketing dreamed up that promo?????

    • BennyBoom

Sorry to hear that happened to you. I thought it was Tmobile policy for the rep to not only say their name but also their ID number when greeting you. Sad to say, but you should have had the rep note this on your account, as I  highly doubt anyone will honor this agreement you made, since the promo indicated you had to add a new line to get the “free” sensation.

since u r not on contract, u can cancel the 4 lines and get a fresh new lines. u can also port old numbers to new ones, which usually is done within 24hrs. so u wont lose ur old number. just some tricks u have to play :)
