T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide Arriving July 27th?

The release date of the myTouch 4G Slide has been a little bit of mystery with release dates popping up pretty much all over July. A leaked screenshot obtained by the boys at Android Central gives us hope that the phone may arrive on Wednesday July 27th. We don’t believe the leaked shot is from an actual corporate location so it’s entirely possible the phone could find T-Mobile store shelves sooner than that date. Then again we’ve heard anything from tomorrow to the 20th tossed around so it’s completely up in the air at this point. Still, this is something to look forward to all while hoping it arrives sooner.

My girlfriend cannot wait…she is miserable with her G2x. If she doesn’t get this they will lose another customer for an iPhone instead.

They replaced mine with a Sensation but won’t help her at all.

Will it have an unlockable boot loader?

  • Photosport

Will this be a paperweight or a nice mp3 player when the corrupt FCC approves the deal? Hard to buy a phone now knowing that it will be a brick and unsellable. Shame!

    • mp3-junky

why will this phone be a brick, paperweight, or unsellable?

        The merger with AT&T

The TMUS phones won’t be paperweights.  The new phones are using multiple frequencies that are/would be used by ATT if the sale is approved.

The only reason someone might care for it less would be the “Tmobile” brand name instead of the AT&T brand name silk screened on the phone. But anyone who is buying a used phone that is 6 months old (at that point) is looking for a deal.

I wish I could do a straight up trade between my G2 and the Slide.  I love my G2, but that Slide sounds like it will be so much more….

Alas, I won’t be getting a new phone until my line is up for renewal.  I’ll be getting the phone that probably replaces the the replacement for the Slide.  In other words, my future phone will kick the pants off the Slide!  Too bade that will be in about a year and a half :(

unlimited data for $30. but there is a cap right? a news repport says only sprint currently offers true unlimited data not tmobile .  whats the cap, why its stil called unlimited?

    • Clbarlos

It’s not a cap really. After you reach a certain amount of data they throttle you which basically means if there’s tons of people on the same tower as you trying to use the web you’ll get slower speeds than them since you used so much data. Once your billing cycle starts over you won’t get throttled anymore, unless you go over again. If you use a ton of data keep your WiFi on and use it when you can.

I’m soooo irritated with this release date! My freaking blackberry is finally paid off, my plan has ended since april and I’m ready to purchase this phone. So today I log onto t-mobile and it’s finally listed but you can’t buy it yet…….. It says coming soon……. Just release it already! I’m about to switch providers!

Droid 3 with dedicated number row and bigger screen making it tougher to like 4g slide.

    • Anonymous

so the droid 3 is coming to t-mobile? there are a crap load of phones better than the 4g slide but on other carriers. this will make do on t-mobile.

Ever heard of TCO? Sure you have. Total Cost of Ownership.

Verizon’s data/phone + device (one time or contract) vs. Tmobile’s data/phone + device (one time or contract)

Intangibles – Verizon’s network vs. Tmobile’s, Exclusive Hardware options, Droid 3 5 row keyboard vs. 8MP camera on 4G Slide as examples.

As a long time customer Tmobile’s TCO has always been lower and had great hardware for my needs. If I traveled weekly, Verizon’s premium coverage would be a better fit even for the price.
