Giant List Of Current Markets With T-Mobile’s 42Mbps HSPA+ Network

With the midnight announcement of additional HSPA+ 42Mbps networks there seemed to be a lot of confusion in the comments as to what cities had launched previously. Of course we provided the link to the last launch right in the post but we’ve decided to go one step further and give you the entire list of currently available markets. Well actually T-Mobile decided to do so and we’re reposting it but either way, you can see every single city that has launched thus far. All 96 of them! Are you on the list?

Speed:

  • By doubling the speed of its 4G network in markets across the country, T-Mobile customers will have access to the fastest 4G speeds available from T-Mobile.
  • T-Mobile has seen average download speeds approaching 10Mbps with peak speeds of 27 Mbps on the T-Mobile Rocket 3.0 laptop stick – the company’s first 42Mbps device.
  • T-Mobile’s increased network speed capabilities will benefit its customers using 3G and 4G devices for data services, as the backward compatible network pushes the limits of 3G and 4G devices to achieve maximum speed performance.
  • T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 4G network is poised to continue its aggressive evolutionary path to deliver speeds on par with LTE.

Breadth:

  • In 2011, T-Mobile will increased 4G network speeds to 150 million Americans by mid-year.

I agree, I’m located in one of the largest military bases around, in size and population. All the other services has at least 3G where I live (including US Cellular), but good old T-Mobile can’t seem to get with it!

I wonder why Bentonville, AR rates HSPA+ 42Mbps and a lot of other places that have a lot more importance doesn’t? (Walmart, yeah right)

How come Tallahassee,FL isnt on the list? when i went to the tmobile store the other day and played with the Sensation it showed 4G signal? and my Touch Pro2 Was showing an “H” sign as well when i used it for back up the other day.

    • Techguy

It probably has to do with Tallahassee actually being considered part of the Jacksonville, FL market.  Either that or not a high enough percentage of the sites have been upgraded to the 42 Mpbs speeds yet.

I’m probably not the first, nor am I going to be the last, but T-mo, upgrade your coverage at all in smaller towns! There are areas that I pass through that I get first generation! The city 20 miles from me gets 4G, but I don’t?

I’d like to call out Albuquerque, NM doesn’t actually have this. Speeds average 300K… HSPA+ should put me at 2-3Mbps on average. That’s what I got in Jersey. This is of course assuming they count the whole city as the market. If it is the 3 locations I’ve found with speeds in excess of 1Mbps then ok.
