Cricket Ramps Up The T-Mobile Attack Marketing

If you thought Cricket WIreless’ previous ad was a doozy you best be checking out this commercial currently running in their service area. I won’t even waste time on words, just watch and comment below. Can someone tell me where this company even has service?

Wow really, so I can tried in my MT4G for a Inferior Ascend for free!!! sign me up! Plus I will get slower cdma 3g, drop calls galore, and roaming charges if not I’m not in a cricket city, Wow!!!!!

  • Matt

    LOL. NO COMMENTS….

  • David

Wow…cricket was my first cell phone company when I rocked a kyocera candid lol. I’m with tmobile now and have been for years and I really doubt they’ll let me be “stranded” I mean two companies combining coverage areas, that sounds awesome. I don’t see the merger being anything but awesome for consumers.

  • cirrob

I fail to see what’s wrong with their message. Everything they have said minus the message to switch to their specific network is everything current T-Mobile customers have been saying since the news of the att deal was announced

    • http://www.facebook.com/DeOunte De’Ounte Davis

The commercial is very miss leading, No T-mo customers are going to be left stranded. I hate the merger with a passion. But AT&T is better then cricket and that’s sad. lol

  • Yancy

    They have service? :D

  • jblaze2385

I don’t think they have service just a bunch of nerds in there mom’s basment routing calls from wifi

I understand that a manager at a Cricket store had himself punched through a wall after trying to cheat someone I know quite well. He was out before he hit the wall…then the floor.

Cricket is the huge regional carrier in my area. The others mentioned in the Congress hearings (metro pcs, us celluar, leap etc) have no presence in my area.

      leap owns cricket… just saying

  • Nick G

They have service all throughout the Midwest, and they’re expanding towards the east and west. I had them as my first cell phone provider, and they were…yeah. Not the best by any means.

LOL.  They really advertised the low budget entry level phone.  That’s the real fail.  Other than that, looks like a good marketing plan to try to scoop up the non savvy users who have a dumb phone and don’t know what’s going on.  It probably is worth it.  Sounds like Cricket is like Ntelos, Frawg, Cox, etc that we have here in the mid atlantic.  Regional carrier with crazy good prices and that is all.  On the other hand, still looking forward to the merge.  4G LTE sounds a whole lot better than the edge that I get at home.

WAIT!!!! Did they really just offer an Huawei Ascend??? BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA. Stick to your target demographic of dope dealers, old ladies and immigrants with no credit. WE’RE NOT INTERESTED AND IT’S EXTREMELY TACKY OF YOU. B!TCHES (Rick James Voice)

    • xnohtyp

Stereotypes aside, Cricket is targeting end users looking to pay less, with that said they focus on low income areas, i know for a fact they are penny pinching investing in their wireless infrastucture.  @facebook-776110380:disqus dope dealers are everywhere, including your high class neighborhood, old ladies, we don’t need to go there, and immigrants, well they are everywhere, we are the foundation of this great nation.

Cricket & MetroPCS are now saying they provide 90% coverage nationwide. However, when in the coverage maps most zip codes don’t go through.

  • http://twitter.com/fairuse fairuse

Glad you found this. Gadz, that is a bad advertisement. I have seen Cricket storefronts in strip malls around Baltimore/Washington DC.

  • DetroitTechnoFan

    Definitely not here in Detroit!

  • Euched513

They have service in Cincinnati….I think they use Sprint for their network coverage.

    • Anonymous

      they use t-mobile

      • Gm Aharrington1

No they use Sprint. Look in the coverage section of Wikipedia.

    • Hdcycles77

Sounds like Tmo coverage here on the Illinois side of St Louis.

…This is the “competition” AT&T is proclaiming exists in the wireless marketplace? Cricket is barely a step above burners..

  • Tito!

Can I just say, Leap [the owning company of Cricket is against this Merger.] so this voids all advantages.

IF anything, something tells me Cricket is being payed by AT&T’s lobbyist in an attempt to “prove” that this merger helps “competition” just by Cricket attempting a marketing strategy they never have before?
Little do they know, this “attempt” still doesn’t prove that people will indeed and in fact see Cricket as an alternative? This is where the joke comes in, nobody, I mean NOBODY is stupid enough in this time who is a consumer of the mobile industry dumb enough, to actually think of Cricket in such light.
In the end, the joke is on Cricket: T-Mobile disappears, you go down with it. no matter how close of a competitor in pricing you guys are [thus, exactly why T-Mobile is needed in this industry. they are the Leverage. the are the key motivator.]

Thanks, AT&T. But Nice try (:
this “marketing strategy” does nothing. please expect your arguments to be shot down, by me :D

FCC, I hope you know the collossal  of this situation. & can handle it appropriately. Denying it, maybe?
Because it does no good. Everybody is watching you (:

The Funny thing is: this commercial says, “you’ll get stranded waiting for this merger.”

to me, that doesn’t describe enough how it will be like if this merger were to pass,
thanks AT&T, again. you just proved: either, that you’re going far to lobby smaller potentially opposing carriers, or are just really that dumb to indiscreetly infamize your network for having a reputation of poor infidelity in terms of service. :D

      Thanks! MagentaSQUAD :)

Stranded cause of Merger or No Merger, T-Mobile has always taken care of me and my Wireless needs for the past 7 years, they gave us all the first taste of Android, T-Mobile goes down, I go down with it.

        • Tito!

Stranded if the merger happens, of course.
          I Love my T-Mobile as well (:
They’ve never left me stranded .

Cricket is huge in TX and I just heard a radio ad that stated “if you are on tmobile you could be traded, now is the time to switch to Cricket”

  • CradleOfChaos

Im glad to see Cricket stepping up this game. I was a customer when they first came out, and they were just something..new.. I mean, while these big carriers were pushing around big prices, they offered everything for unlimited, at one flat price… Ending middle school, starting High School, they were a perfect choice, because no contracts and all that were just..good. I dont know how it is now, but when Cricket first came out here, it was only in like 4 states.. Cricket now almost covers ALMOST all states I believe, with coverage in most major areas.. I dont mean to sterotype or anything.. but around here, I live around a decent area (not poor, not rich..just regular hard working people, working check to check..) ALmost everyone I know has Cricket here. Its cheap, we aint gotta worry about minutes, contracts.. some of us just dont need that high speed hardware..Ive been a Tmobile customer for 5 years, I love it, but sometimes, my bill is just getting the best of me, and Id be happy to switch back to Cricket.. but like I said, for the most part, Im happy with Tmobile :)

    • CradleOfChaos

And Im not trying to attack Tmo, and be all Cricket fanboy here… but that phone they offered for free… it certainly beats my Samsung Vibrant in surfing the web most times lol…Alot of people (espcially here) just need a basic Android phone..nothing fancy, and thats who Cricket is targeting. Here, Cricket stores are highly populated. I just think its kinda cool seeing them stepping up advertisements, especially around this whole merger. Good for them.

Has anyone thought about the fact that T-mobile phone have more innovation in their software and hardware than any of crickets best phones. I mean really lets be serious here every company has its benefits in certain areas. I mean Cricket will never be a Nationwide carrier. Will someone one please understand that their are only 4 major carriers. In addition, the reason why cricket phones are no contract is cause the phones are worthless. The company might may $50 dollars for the phone but they will sell it to you for full price and the phone might only last you a year or a couple of month. On the other hand if the phone is free it only means that is the quality your getting. Honestly last time I heard nothing free is quality. If you had a bad experience with your vibrant, then that’s just one phone on T-mobiles line up. I will put my G2 to compete against what ever phone cricket may offer. Oh one more thing my platform of android updates before any of the phones in crickets line up. What you pay is what you get and cricket is a great name for what you get. :)

    • kl

unlimited? Huh unlimited to just 1 gb of data! Lol

      • CradleOfChaos

Meh, like I said, alot of people are going to talk sh*t… Just like how AT&T talks down on Tmobile…. everyone is always going to have something to say, good or bad. Here, CRicket gets the job done, and thats that.

  • http://twitter.com/IntegrityWebs Integrity Tech

I ran several zip codes – New York, California, Georgia, Florida – nothing, nada, zip. Cricket can’t compare to T-Mobile. I pay $160 per month for the following: Samsung Vibrant phone with 1000 minutes plus unlimited data & text; Samsung Galaxy Tab with 2GB monthly bandwidth; and a Dell 3G Netbook with unlimited monthly broadband. I have no complaints and like the service far better than AT&T, my previous provider.

    • Techtramp

Exactly. I’m in NY and when some relatives in Louisville, KY ask me about Cricket, I just give them the blank stare. I’d rather go back to pagers or even two cans on string. Have multiple lines/dif devices like you on Tmo and I’m happy

  • Maschwar77

I’d love to see a comedic response from T-Mobile: like someone getting dizzy and puking from looking for signal with Cricket’s service.

  • http://profiles.google.com/s10shane Shane Stenson

lmao what a joke.. cricket is trash and cant even compare to tmobile.. here in cali u dont see or hear anything about cricket. lol cricket sucks and will never touch tmobile..

  • Vader199355

crickets done belong in the house or in your pocket

  • Techtramp

For some reason, nearly everyone I know in Louisville, KY have that garbage phone service. Without fail, dropped calls, situations where I can hear the person but they can’t me, etc…I suppose the plans are excellent as folks will flash Sprint phones to Crik et for the joy of not being able to use the web or send/receive mms. If your credit is shot in the ‘ville, Cricket seems to be the servi ce of choice

  • http://www.brettschulte.com/ Brett Schulte

    Ouch!

  • Grasshopper

smart commercial i response to AT&T, for the record i will not be going to cricket to trade in my tmo phone for a wack ass Ascend nice try though cricket

  • LMP

Las Vegas is a Cricket market.

  • Mr Young19

This is a sad sad sad day. I never thought i would see or hear the day. When crickets wireless  would try to sit at the grown ups table. What going on T-mobile????. I been with you for like 12 years. You was my first cell phone company. In i thought you was going to be my last. i was told as a kid that it take two to tango. But i guess you are hanging  up your dancing shoes……….

    • WHATASHAME

Wow why all the negativity here . . . Seriously guys it is marketing it is how the world works.  T-mobile bashes AT&T and Verizon plenty why should cricket be any different?  But i would appreciate a response from T-mobile here . . . i mean its like they are just sleeping

    • Anonymous

Why would Tmobile reply?  Its always the little guy bashing the bigger guy, you never saw Tmobile get targeted by V or AT&T because there would be no point in it.  More so now when they are so focused on selling out.

  • Tmoguy1

Cricket is a joke that = crappy phones, no cell towers, and I’m too poor and can’t afford to manufacture a decent phone.

  • Tortionist

There’s a good sized cricket market here in Utah. I was with them for a year. Here’s the lowdown on them. The phones suck. you pay full price for them and they’re expensive. Yes Cricket is cheaper, but for a phone bill that’s  supposed to be cheaper at 50$ a month, mine went up $5 a month every month, until i dropped them like a bad habit for T-Mobile, who by the way, gave me a plan without any money down because I am an Army veteran. This was right around memorial day 2007. Cricket sucks and has a smaller footprint. I also heard several other people complain about their bill going up by $5 a month every month. Talk about crooked.

  • BigMixxx

Saw that commercial earlier. It was pretty good.  HOWEVER, LEAP just like DT would not hesitate in selling cricket….

  • Rick Johnson

They have a big presence in the Phoenix area.

  • Gm Aharrington1

Cricket it trying to get customers and no harm in that. Heck everyone wants more customers, isn’t that one of two reasons AT&T is buying T-Mobile? The second being they can’t roll out their LTE without T-Mobile. Fyi, Cricket uses Sprint and Metro Pcs for their 3g. Here is the proof. Read the whole thing on Wikipedia.

  • Anonymous

Cricket is straight up garbage. I see they didn’t compare T-Mobile’s Monthly4G plans which are in direct competition with T-Mobile’s.. the 79.99 plan actually gives you access to discounted phones like the Sensation 4G.. not the Huawei GARBAGE Ascend

  • Jack

Here in new mexico I call cricket “ghetto wireless”
