Here is another one…………….” I will get them by going to another carrier.” Are all of you just stupid. That is like saying I will not go to Shell for gas, I do not like the way they treat me to go to Mobile where the cost and the policy are the very same. It is insidious to think you are fooling anyone but you and who cares. It is like roaches you kill one here come two more, everybody is not bitching at tmob. Just you people who expect something for nothing. You could always upgrade, but you want it free.

      • THawk

You’re right T-Mobile has no obligation to give current customers free upgrades, but as you can see from all of us that are upset it’s just good business to do something for loyal customers. Someone pays 50 dollars a month for 5 years giving 3k to T-Mobile has to pay 150-200 for their upgrade, but people that haven’t paid a dime to T-Mobile get a free phone. I think it rubs a lot of people the wrong way. Obviously you don’t agree, but I’d wager to say the majority of people would be upset by this. Now you have a few people that wont extend their contract out of spite, and will likely tell their friends/family not to go with T-Mobile. T-mobile is already hated enough as it is. I dont know how many times over the years Ive had to defend T-mobile to my friends who viewed it as a crappy inferior carrier. Now I don’t care to defend it. Do they really need that? All could be solved by providing us with free G2s which already has inferior technology. It’s not even really free, we’re still paying for a good portion of it over the course of the contract..

You didn’t do well in high school business did you.

Do you realize that selling a phone at cost or giving it free to a loyal customer results in thousands in business, from that one customer.  And that’s not even taking into account the huge number of customers T-Mobile will get from that one happy, loyal customer referring family and friends who ask for a recommendation on which carrier to go with.

And there’s all those loyal dads in the US, that T-Mobile has heavily marketed to, with family plans.  Yeah, anger that dad on his upgrade so he cancels his T-Mobile accounts, for him and the entire family.

Since 2003 I have paid T-Mobile about $35,000.  In all that time I have never received a free phone, at best I have gotten away with paying T-Mobile’s cost for the phones. Sometimes I was not authorized upgrade pricing but to keep my business I got it anyway.

So yeah, you could have called me a whiner, ingrate and whatever other insulting names you gave people in here.  But anger me and I’ll take my $35,000 and spend it somewhere else.

You showed me though, didn’t you.  You stuck to your guns, saved giving up a $200 profit or incurring a $200 cost.  Management should give you a bonus on how many ingrates you shooed away.  Let’s see…. if you tell five customers a day to go away (in an insulting tone, of course) for every day you work, that’s saving T-Mobile $5,000 weekly!  Good job.

Oh wait, those people will take their business to someone else, for life.  25 customers weekly lost x $1250 average user revenue per year x 20 years = $625K potential income lost.

        $5,000 vs. $625,000

No bonus for you, you’re fired.

          $35,000? SH??nan?g?nz!!

Yeah that would mean his phone bill is like 300 ish a month or he buys a lot of phones :D

data cost sucks.  so no deal for me on this phone

  • http://twitter.com/KARMA773 Karma

i think time has come  for me to leave tmobile after 8 yrs of being loyal customer.

What is with this loyal bullshit. Hey they were loyal to you. They did what you asked provided a service. They do not owe you or anyone else a damn thing, this is a business. They are about making money, not friends. How many friends do you have that own or have a business. Businesses need customers, not friends. Verizon, Sprint nor ATT want to be your friend either. So you are looking for love by running from one hooker to another?

      • Anonymous

Do you work for T-Mobile, sure looks like it.

I gotta wonder otherwise why you would show up to a T-Mobile fan site and be rude and insulting to anyone in here posting that they want a phone, in recognition of 8 years loyalty to T-Mobile.

Really, your response is to accuse the poster of “looking for love by running from one hooker to another.”

And you called the other poster an “ingrate.”

Who appointed you sheriff on this site dude.  What, did you wake up this morning, adjust the satellite dish on your trailer, kick the dog, beat the wife, then think yo yourself: “I am going to log on to the Internet and use against someone the line from my favorite country song lyrics: ‘Is it wrong to be looking for love by running from one hooker to another.’”

And if you are a T-Mobile employee? Well the Company need not look any further than this thread and your immature, bully comments to see why customers are leaving T-Mobile by the thousands.

If you are not a T-Mobile employee, the Company is still at fault for not working with David, this Site’s owner, to take down your kind of posts, that convey a very bad impression of T-Mobile (yes, people find these posts using Google or other search engines).

And most people will assume you are a T-Mobile employee and are speaking on the company’s behalf.

very nice post) i liked it)  thanks!

Had my heart set on my first android after 6 YEARS with TMobile. I really liked the G2 because it had everything a beginner to Android market needed. Deal was only for NEW customers. Called customer care and they said their interest is in new customers. And that was their LOYALTY department. My contract expires in July…they need to have the G2 for free for us loyal customers that have given the company thousands of dollars or I’m canceling service.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_HGEPMKECQHV4BVIDCEHTQJZV7M CINNALOCKS III

Loyalty? Did you not use the service for six years? Was it not good for at least four of the six or why would you have stayed. Did you not sign a contract two years ago? So what is it that you are bitching about? This is another one of those who cannot live with the decision they made. No one made you sign a contract. You chose the phone and the terms. Live with it. Deal with it. Canceling the service and then what signing with another company that will have the very same rules. You got what you paid for,you did not give the company ANYTHING, NADA. They provided you a service and billed you for that service. You think the service investment was free. You ingrate. You have a legal obligation to fulfill the terms of the contract as does the carrier. Grow up, this is what it is like being an adult. They way you all jump back and forth who cares, as soon as one leaves another one shows up.

I believe that mentality is why we are bleeding customers.  Finding new customers who do not already have contract obligations with another company and talking them into a TMO contract is hard and requires a lot of effort (and even sometimes LUCK) — If keeping a paying customer on TMO contract only costs them a simple $50-$100 in equiptment credit, I say do it.  I have been out of contract for over a year and used the same equiptment or 3+ years.  Do I expect a deal for saving them money?  Of course I do!!

Clearly I cannot spell *equipment”.  Maybe if they would give me a better phone…. LOL

    • Mephikun1

You had to Add a Line or sign up for T-Mobile. Those were the conditions.

    “Yawn”

  • Rick

Interesting that there are some reports that TMO is prioritizing new subs and sort of giving up on retention.  Perhaps they figure the merger has already driven many subs to reconsider renewing, and since they are bleeding badly they might want to give out free phones and hook up new subs that willlive through the merger.

Does this mean that the merger will not include contract forgiveness?  Repricing?  Hmm…

And since the G2X is off-market for whatever reason, I’m waiting for that or some other dual-core hdmi phone.  Grrr…

HTC Sensation 4G (Yes, it has USB to HDMI capability and charges while doing so :D  )

      • Rick

And this is another phone I can’t buy.

  • http://www.facebook.com/stuartaharris Stuart Harris

Pisser that the G2X got pulled at the last minute. Too bad on the upgrades… Got the wifey a sidekick for free and only ate my shorts on the 9.99 “add a line” for 3 months till her old busted up nokia comes off contract. Decent deal, but G2X would have made for an epic evening. Cheers for keeping us informed!

  • David

Sprint will buy you out of your contract for up to 175. That is good if so inclined. I am waiting for ATT and LTE which Sprint will move to eventually.

BUT my G2 shipped yesterday even tho I was told and have the transcript that they were on backorder. That is G2 not G2x . The G2 has a known GPS issue that causes the phone to lock up or reboot. It is well documented on the TMO site. Problem is, there is no fix other than to keep sending out phones.

So, another faulty TMO roll-out. Reps are pissed. Why can VZW and ATT get it right. Apple is looking better all the time.
