Everyone is missing the point in my opinion. Do you all realize that we will be bought by sprint if the att merger is denied. T-Mobile is on its last legs and the only reason Sprint is fighting this is because they want to T-Mobile. So either way its moving from 4 to 3, I would much rather be with AT&T T-Mobile than Sprint / T-mobile.

    • http://www.volkswagen.de Michael

I’ll take SprinT over AT&TT any day!

      • Mopar6464

        Not me, they blow.

    • http://twitter.com/dethduck dethduck

You do realize that sprint was already in talks with T-Mobile about a merger over a year ago and backed out saying they weren’t interested. Right? Could it have been because Hesse actually believes competition is good? hmm?

    • Anonymous

Would rather be with sprint than att.

    • TMoFanatic

You are very correct, hskrprd. Sprint would be able to buy us for less than $39Billion, and the resulting merger and company would be much less enjoyable for current T-Mo customers.

Job Offer Growth sounds like a LIE

  • Anonymous

so a big city Sales rep from a TMO store should move out to some small town where there is growth. What a joke.

  • Anonymous

one thing ATT has going for it here is that they dont market against tmo directly…..which helps the argument that ATT is trying to eliminating a comepetitor….TMO took shots at ATT bc they were trying to enlighten and steal customers from ATT. ATT does not need to steal customers from TMO however…….Little guy taking shots at the big guy…..On the surface atleast, ATT doesnt view TMO as a viable threat to their business

  • http://twitter.com/dethduck dethduck

Yes, Sohn has the right of it! Competition NOT regulation.

I’m really liking Hesse. Glad someone made that distinction.

    • YBT

Hess has it going on! He’s a true player for the people and makes his points clear. I like that! If this deal goes through… I might be looking towards Sprint.

      • T MoFanatic

O.K. More bandwidth for us. ;P

    • Anonymous

it sounded like it at the end didnt it?

      • http://twitter.com/dethduck dethduck

Appearantly Humm could see which way the wind was blowing.

        • YBT

Its quite simple. Steph wants to buy. Humm wants to sell. Game over.

        • Anonymous

          Exactly…..tmo cant compete long term.

        • Opposition

Sure, but FCC/DOJ can say no to selling to AT&T for obvious anti-competitive reasons. DT can then either sell to someone at a much lower price or be a big boy and compete.

    • Havoktek

Humm was definatley playing the frakkin’ fence, he didn’t even defend his own backyard!

      • Anonymous

He downplayed att as a competitor, but i wish he wouldve lobbyed for the merger more…..stephenson got beat up pretty bad

  • Anonymous

Someone unglue me cuz I was STUCK watchin that.

Hella yeah, I dissed the lunch crew for this!

  • http://twitter.com/dethduck dethduck

that was far more interesting than I thought it would be, AT&T’s Stephenson really got stomped on and rightfully so. I don’t think he answered a single question straight or honestly.

  • Havoktek

Humm looks like a frakkin’ little boy amongst grownups! Hell maybe we can get the sympathy vote!

  • TMoFan

I couldn’t watch so thanks for doing the live blog!

  • Microrob1

    its over?

    Read this:

    Then ask yourself…

Is this the same company who boasted about new cities with faster speeds?

is this the same company who boasted in Seattle last week about faster speeds than an iPhone?

Tmo is going down faster than the Titanic sank. Good luck Tmo Store Reps. If you think you’re bored out of your mind now, wait till next month.

@6f2b8c9ebf98ee1b7f724fc5061b6a60:disqus Talk about double speak! This dude just wants out. Why do I feel that sudden sense of Deja vu?

      • Anonymous

I’m sure he gets a nice sized check for going quietly.

    • Anonymous

Yeah….As an employee its disturbing to see and hear what was said in the hearing from Humm…..this deal needs to go thru as easily and as quickly as possible

      • tmocali

I agree. I’d rather have a chance then have nothingness.. I welcome t merger w open arms.

  • Witney26

Well I’m actually one of those persons that want the merger to go tru maybe like that t-mobile will come to montana theres is no t-mobile over here at all u walk into montana and theres not 1 t-mobile store there’s only att, sprint and verizon stores people from other places that have t-mobile when they come to montana they roam on att i know cuz i seen it happen with my sister that lives in La and has t-mobile i know some of u people will probably be all like nobody cares bout Montana and all but hey I want some of those t-mobile cheap prices I seen them online and they sound really good. I have at&t which is the best over here has coverage all tru montana but the plans are super expensive. I’m.hoping that if the merger goes tru maybe I dnt know know I’m crossing my fingers that maybe att will get some of those cheap t-mobile plans. I wudnt mind if I had to buy a new phone as long as I pay t-mobile prices. But sadly most likely that wont happen.. most likely they will make their prices more higher ..

    • Anonymous

“Can ATT customers take advantage of TMO pricing?” “If ATT customers wanted those cheap T-Mobile rates then they’ve been available to them for quite some time now”

Don’t get your hopes up about ATT becoming cheap anytime soon. They have to spend around $50B in the next few years or so so I can’t imagine prices dropping from this merger. They will allow us TMO ppl to use our plans for the duration of our contract and then if want to make a change then things may or may not change for you.

i would have followed up by asking if a customer wanted an iphone before this year, would they have been able to get one on t-mobile’s price structure without potentially damaging their phones because at&t and apple refuse to unlock them? i also would have asked how much advertising nationally has t-mobile done versus at&t. people won’t go to the competitor if people don’t know the competitor exists.

if people were aware of t-mobile’s rates for as long as at&t has been advertising nationally i’m fairly certain more people would have gone in that direction.

” Franken is totally good enough and smart enough to be a United States Senator, sorry….couldn’t resist.” I believe if franken had more time he would have twisted Stevenson so bad. Stephenson started talking with his hands….sign of uncomfortability..

Personally I don’t care if T-Mobile never goes LTE. I think there’s room in the market for a lower-cost, medium-speed carrier.

    • Petey

isn’t that the problem when tmobile was late in brining 3g to consumer? They really need to step up on their game and be aggressive if they want to improve their company.
