Blackberry OS 6 Available For 9700 Customers?

Yesterday, I posted a quick comment on Twitter regarding a number of emails I received regarding Blackberry 9700 users notifications they received from Desktop Manager that version 6.0.0.448 was available. I took it with a little bit of skepticism, however, given the sheer number of responses we received yesterday both through email and Twitter, we’re ready to call this real, albeit without official word from T-Mobile. You’ll have to plug your 9700 into Desktop Manager and check for an update as T-Mobile.com/bbupgrade doesn’t seem to offer the new software. Let us know how it works for you!

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

you can get it from the blackberry beta zone for free.
i have it on mine and it works like a charm. everything is so much faster. no need to upgrade to the 9780!

I have it from Beta Zone. Works great. Need tweaking, in my opinion, still moving from screen to screen (left and right) by accident. Love new features and really fast.

Where on the Beta Zone Geds? I can’t find it anywhere on there.

You need to get an invite. I sent a comment that I wanted it and they sent me one a few days later. Took a shot and it worked out.

Yeah I did the same thing, but no luck. That’s cool though that you got it. I guess I will wait for the official release from T-Mobile in 2 years.

crackberry.com has had leaks for months now…been using them all as they come out….up to 6.0.0.499 now….works great on my 9700….tmobile’s site still says 5.0.0.714….wayyyyyy behind

They are always behind Guido… it sucks. Great company but when it comes to giving their customers what they deserve they always lack the effort to get it out quick.

Blackberry OS6 for 9700 available at crackberry.com and it works perfect on my BB is like having a new phone. Low memory but no big deal if you’re like me that doesn’t have much apps and use my phone for business emails and egular email checks.

The BB OS is stagnant. If they want to remain relevant, we better see some innovation soon.

T-Mobile’s official release ofOS 6.0.0.448 is available . Check out http://www.t-mobile.com/upgrade for the download. FINALLY!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!

Downloaded yesterday. works great only complaint is that it sucked up most of my available memory! I now have to figure out which apps to delete.

      how did you do it?

  • Junk

It didn’t work well for me at all. I was told to uninstall my desktop manager, and this was the replacement for it (by t-mobile rep). apparently this is the OS for the phone, not an upgrade for the PC. Idoits at t-mobb
