Not so… the HD2 is one of the best kept secrets in the smartphone world.

It can be hacked and cracked like no other phone on the market. I have Android 2.2 on mine. It’s an Evo reincarnate. LOL.

It has hardware that up until dual-core is as powerful as many phones out there, including even HTC’s Windows Phone 7 offerings.

And it remains a fantastic form factor. It’s so pleasing that HTC is still manufacturing phones with the same look and feel.

        It’s a quality phone.

It’s a historical piece, one of the first phones with a 4.3″ display.

It’s a bargain if you can get it for $250 or less.

Yes and no. The HD2 is a great device if you’re willing to put the work into it. The problem is a lot of people buy the phone hoping for something simple and easy to use, and then when it starts freezing in the first few weeks of use, rather than scrubbing the RAM and the SMS memory partition, they freak out and think the phone is defective.

If you’re not prepared to hardSPL flash it and perform serious maintenance on it, you’re going to hate it. If you’re a hacker, or at least someone who knows a bit about mobile device programming, then you’ll love it, and nothing else will be quite as good.

Leave the Blackberry-esque devices to Rim.

I will be waiting on that Meego Tablet Nokia N9-01. Won’t be getting any Nokia WP7 phones even though the prototypes have a Beautiful design.

See Nokia WP7 Prototype Design Here: gsmarena.com/first_nokia_prototype_running_windows_phone_7_revealed-news-2317.php

Supposedly the N9-01 supports Tmo’s 3G bands 1700/2100 as well as Tmo’s HSPA+ so hopefully I/We’ll (For those that may be interested as well) be seeing an unlocked version or a highly unlikely branded Tmo version N9-01. Can’t wait to see what Meego device(s) Nokia shows.

(The phone in the Picture is the now scrapped N9-00, the N9-01 is supposedly a Candybar Touchscreen only device)

I’m also anxiously waiting for the MeeGo device. I do wish that Intel pushes MeeGo hard to be an excellent OS. My next device will be a MeeGo tablet that can do phone calls.

Reminds me more of a Samsung Blackjack.

Actually, Nokia will be keeping S40 around for their dumbphones, so this specific model won’t be a collectors’ item.

  • GlockBuster

$80 for a no contract “smartphone-looking” phone isn’t a bad deal. I bet it sells well.

This is really nice, I might just order me one. WOW…very nice phone.

  • MSalam11

If only this had 3g antenna..

      • MSalam11

          LMAO GARBAGE

        • http://ndrw.me AndrewNoNumbers

It’s 79 bucks, the price you’d normally pay for a smartphone WITH two years of service charges.

        • Vlad

Get a T-Mo Comet. I got mine for $140 off-contract. Stock Android 2.2 (so free tethering/wi-fi hotspot) and a surprisingly good back-up phone to my N1. 3G included.

      • MSalam11

Yes. It only runs edge. No tmobile 3g.

  • Antbankz23

really nice phone but i have been spoiled by android and its hard to shy away onced youve been acustomed to it, nokia should have went with android instead of windows, can u imagine the N8 with android 2.3 that would be sweet!
